I nearly had an iPhone moment today. The thought crossed my mind to reserve an iphone 11 tomorrow.

I used split screen on this phone and snapped out of it!

Aren't you curious to compare the camera with your Note atleast?

Not really. I'm not a massive camera buff and any pics are take are just point and shoot type, no real thought beyond that and to be honest the software, hardware and features of the operating system are near enough 100% the reason for my phone choice.

Really I was surprised as it gets better each year of course account passwords were not transferred but many settings were and even paired BT devices which was great with my wife's Phone from her S8 to my old S10+ as she was using my free buds

It use to be a pain given so many customisation's and placement and grouping of app icons etc

Sure if your using non native app launchers etc more so and some newer features supersede previous ones like themes

There is no gain without pain and you want every Android device to look the same like IOS just so transfers of devices becomes easier etc then it would be a major loss IMO
Do you use Samsung cloud to black up your phone?

Has anyone tried to the Whitestone Dome protector? I still have the preinstalled plastic protector that came with the phone on, but it offers little protection against drops/
The Whitestone protector is very expensive so I wanted opinions before purchasing.
Update on this. I bought the whitestone dome, install went perfectly. The fingerprint scanner is very hit and miss which is disappointing

That is disappointing. The hit or miss reports of the Whitestone is what gives me pause about trying one.

I've been mainly using face recognition anyway so it's not gonna be enough for me to remove the protector, especially as the install perfect

Actually I may have to semi retract what I said. The fingerprint lock does require a bit more pressure but the stuff I use, like bank apps, etc seem to be working with a slightly longer pause on the sensor but nothing major.

Disclaimer: Dont blame me if you get one and it goes pear shaped though and nothing works.

Does the "Touch Sensitivity" setting under Display make any difference? Or is it having those issues even with that setting turned on?

Why da heck would you want to put that ugly crap of a screen protector on the phone? Unless you had a history of breaking screen, I wouldn't recommend it. I never had to install a screen protector and never once, not even once broke the screen on my HTC Dream G1, Galaxy S1, Note 2, Note 4, Note 7 to S7E, Note 9. Most of these phones I used for two years.

I'm not seeing how a piece of glass especially when married to a slim case, is almost invisible, qualifies as ugly but each to their own.

Breaking a screen is not my worry, I just dont like scratches on my devices and would rather just replace the glass protector for another when / if the need arises. I appreciate not everybody is as uptight about scratches but hey ho, what can you do!

I should add I'm not some champion for screen protectors, I could care less what anybody else does :)

For those of you that are interested in the iPhone as a possible next device if the Pixel 4 disappoints, here’s are my first impressions after a day with the 11 pro max.
It’s too early to form too many impressions, but the things that stand out are the things Apple hit on during the unveiling. Battery life is legitimately great. I have something like 5.5 hrs of screen on time today and it’s currently at 54% battery left.
The camera is great from the few pictures I’ve taken. Great pictures every time. However I still think Google handles moving objects a little better but time will tell.
This is more of an iOS thing, but dark mode in iOS 13 is much better than in android 10. Almost every native app as a dark mode and a lot of third party apps are triggered by the systemwide change as well.
Lastly, this phone is way too heavy. It’s a brick an the weight is noticeable. I have big hands and this is going to take getting used to.
If anyone is interested I’ll try to throw up more info as I use it more as someone who’s been primarily on android for the best 5 years but isn’t tied to one ecosystem.

I rather have a brick than bendable iPhone 6.
