True Story:

I took my car in for service last week and there was a simliar model in there for a fubar'd motor. Turns out the owner changed his own oil and didn't fill it correctly. So instead of properly reading the manual and knowing how to use the systems on board he overfilled the crankcase and likely came close to putting a rod through his engine.

His excuse was to blame the manufacturer who removed what could be considered a great fail-safe.....a traditional oil disptick. I wonder if he owns a Note 5.

It's quite sad really.

What is sad is those here who continue to circlejerk each others intolerance and ignorance. Most everyone is trying to keep this about a phone feature and how it could have been better designed. So we all have better devices in the future. But a few of you want to make this a social commentary about idiots out there in the world. And that is frustrating for a lot of us to read. But hey, stay on your soapbox. Your own comments are making you looks far worse than any retort I could possibly make.

oooooh burn. did you give yourself a high five? actually she was near blind for a good part of her life and had lots of assistance devices to help her with through the day. but in your eyes, she was just an dumbass who couldn't RTFM. she was so stupid she had to have everything idiot proof. we would tell her that all the time.
....wow....just.....wow.

Anyway, I am surprised this topic is still going and the people who are still moaning haven't created a topic about more things that could have been done better in almost everything made by human beings.

My iPad and Note 4 could have been made to withstand water....if either of them get damaged think I shall go and blame Apple and Samsung. :)

Another not applicable , using the stylus is not maintenance.

Not applicable, waterproofing has trade offs, unlike the pen change.

Dude, you are the 1 who just went on about your granmother in the rudest way to prove a point. That is quite frankly shocking. Do us both a favour and do not bother responding to me.

I'll respond, just block me if you don't like it. Sorry if you can't take it that I threw the posters own intolerance back in their face. That is shocking to you? After you call anyone disabled or hard of seeing basically an idiot. Grow some tougher skin if you are going to soapbox like that.

Its the same, I can choose to drop them in water in the same way I can choose to put the pen backwards, both times the phone is damaged....
So I think you should also make a topic of how the lack of waterproofing is some wacky design flaw.

and as I've noted earlier, I too have an immediate family member who is blind so don't try and play that card man.

Those are not comparable. Try again

So now this is about providing a stylus that can't be inserted incorrectly as part of a the ADA? WOW! Now we're really stretching. Let me check how often my sister who has been blind since birth will be using my Note 3......

There was no intolerance, therefore you didn't throw anything in his face, you just rudely went on about a family member.

We could go on about many things not well designed for people with disabilities, number 1 would be any top end phone out right now, as none are properly designed for every disability.

Quit clutching straws, you are getting incredibly desperate. Stop before you pointlessly insult another family.

And you just keep calling any fail safe device worthless because only idiots would make a mistake. Because that is not desperate or stretching at all either.

None of your analogies are the same as the pen scenario man. I never said anything about blind people ever

No, I never said any fail safe is worthless.....where, please quote me a post # where I did.

I think I've been more than clear in my previous post about what my beef here is. No need to repeat. How about you just go read them and actually read them this time. It wasn't more than 1-2 pages back.

My apologies....it was the other dude who brought up blind people. He's the one you should be stating is trying to divert. I've been trying to stay on topic more than anyone here and even brought up the reqest to dive deeper into other examples.

My analogies are spot-on. I've requested more than once for anyone who disagrees to discuss them in detail but again, everyone thus far has skirted them.

They are. No point in trying again. You can't even come up with something else, no matter how relevant and comparable my examples are you will say they are not comparable, because you have to clutch on to this.

The Note5 does not claim to be idiot proof and it states in the manual that you shouldn't put the stylus backwards ON TOP OF THAT, the stylus has a clicker, a clear indication of which way it should go.

Lmao!!!! Who said any fail safe device is worthless? Dude, please just stop you are now coming up with all kinds of things that were never said.

People make mistakes daily, from dropping the phone in water or hard surfaces and breaking the phone, this is exactly the same.
