I mess up a lot of things but I gotta admit, I've never messed up a pen cap.

Let me tell you. It sucks. You might miss the cap when you aren't looking and draw some ink on your hand. Totally user error, personal responsibility and all that. I am not suing bic dude, don't worry.

You guys are truly more intelligent than everyone else. Must be awesome to never put a pen cap on wrong, look for your glasses when they are on your head or drop a drink. Good for you!

I guess the rest of us are god's little flaws....er.... user errors.
Basically what is happened here is a big bucket called user error has been created that covers everything from jets falling out of the sky killing all on board, to drivers driving the wrong way down a one way street to consumers putting the pen in upside down. There is no having a cogent discussion with that broad a stroke.

so was the ink on your hand a design flaw that needs to be corrected in the next generation of a ball points?

honestly and no sarcasm intended, I've never F'd up putting my stylus in my phone. I absolutely think this is/was 100% pulled out of the arse of a reviewer and not as a result of an actual incident. Again, who the heck is so dumb as to mess up the storing of a stylus in a Note Series Product/

That seems to be it yes, I am as confused as you. If people are going to open it up to blaming all the water on earth, why not take it down to a pen? That is why this thread is a ********. Focus on the topic.....it is an easy mistake that results in damaging a very expensive premium device. It would have made sense for the Samsung engineer team to design as they did in the last 4 generations and every other stylus design out there, and perhaps prevent this from causing damage.

But nope, it goes right from there to a freight training hitting a bum or something. Just wait.

Mod's can't fix Samsung fans. They're passengers on a sinking ship.
I am a Samsung fan. I own many Samsung products and am writing this message on my S6 Edge. If I didn't generally like their products and consider purchasing the Note 5, I wouldn't give a rat's behind about the pen issue.

lol who has ever read a phone manual?

i am. i usually check functions of all devices, in this case i would have check the spen and its functionality and saw the warning on the page 25 even with pictures for dummies. Everytime i buy a new device i check the manual quickly, what the device has or hasnt and how they work. i only check the hardware related stuff, skip apps. it takes about 5-10min and never needed to complain "i didnt know!?"

Have there been any reports of users doing this by mistake yet?

I don't think we will ever see one, if you are dumb enough to do it by accident it won't be filmed, same as iPhone 6 plus bendgate. Just those deliberately doing it and filming for youtube hits.

Impossible to tell on forums / message boards and comments.

I imagine it's likely someone has done it - but the vast amount of general public don't post on fora and such so we'll likely never know an actual realistic figure or percentage.

I imagine however, those that have dropped the phone and shattered either front or rear glass is a lot higher than those with wrongly inserted stylus simply due to nature of 'accidents happen'.

http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-5/569378-don-t-put-your-pen-backwards.html

This is the thread were I think it originated from, as far as I know. At first I thought the issue was that the pen would break if you insert it upside down, didn't think they were saying backwards in first lol. A lot of people were confused in the thread at first as well, until they realized what the thread starter meant. Days later, Adroid Central did a funny article on that thread, then other sites kept on catching on.

This thread was highly moderated, so a lot of the original, yet laughable posts were deleted lol.

Sounds like a tiny problem afflicting only a small amount of people.

And especially now moving forward more people should be more aware; put it in the correct way. No problems.

And even if you do put it in the wrong way by accident, it sounds like there are safe DIY fixes. Samsung warranty should clean up the rest.

And hopefully they make it more blunt-end friendly in future iterations.

The end.

This is the biggest issue i have seen that is affecting no one. Seriously...all the ifans are trying to give the biggest competitor to Apple a black eye. They are still butt hurt over #bengate and want sooooo bad to even the score.

I have a confession guys. The only reason I even contributed to this thread was because I am still gutted about bendgate. Although my phone didn't bend, it still struck me to the core. After all I am only 12 years old and this sort of mentality and way of thinking is common place among my peers.

I should really give back all the money Apple pay me to pretend my personal opinions are Apple friendly and buy a device that 'spanks' the phone I own. Sorry guys, a sad day in the life of somebody who cares too much, and isn't mature enough to compete on valid points it seems. Over and out.

Funny, I have honestly been accused of being a Samsung employee on here before.:rolleyes: "butt hurt" "even the score":rolleyes: Corporations must just love this ****. The marketing people for sure can pat themselves on the back. Brainwashed people "fighting" for a brand that only wants their money. Really sad.

Samsung deserves the criticism on this one. Yep, you're right the fans want to even the score. Revenge at last. Sheesh.

lol....you are evidence of exactly what i posted. You admitted you do not like Android and have no interest in owning a Android phone. Yet here you are....... casting a negative blanket over anything Samsung or Android that you can.

Hmmm. I commented about an issue that is basically all over the Internet and get an ad-hominem attack as a rebuttal. And yes, Samsung deserves the criticism for this engineering gaff.

Just to be fair your original post about Apple is exactly what you said others did.

yes....interestingly enough the only opinion you ever have about Samsung or Android tends to be of the negative kind. Wonders never cease........

So then you would agree Apple deserved criticism over being iphones? You would agree bending phones was an engineering gaff on Apple's part?
