Just a rumour so far but Samsung is not in position to pump the price after the recent events and poor s20 sales

Nice shot from Healer 😁

If the rumours are true then this could be the very best deal ever Samsung has to offer because we are getting the most advanced and well equipped phone of 2020 at a reasonable price. Best value for your money.

Wtf are Samsung doing here? Shame

The 865 is already the best Android chip by a mile and way more power than most people will ever need.

This isn’t about the snapdragon chip it’s about exynos

Not only is this chip behind the snapdragon 865 but now it’s going to be behind the 865+. If they are to sell these non SD chips again price has to be lower. No excuse for it

I think once Samsung drops Qualcomm, and goes strictly with their Exynos chips for flagship devices, we'll possibly start seeing prices level off, and hopefully even drop a bit. The fact is, the current Exynos is lacking in performance compared to the Snapdragon. So the chip that people want is the Snapdragon. That pretty much gives Qualcomm a monopoly right now for flagship CPUs. So far the news looks good on the Exynos 1000 with the AMD GPU, and if all works out, this should separate the Samsung flagships, from every other android device.

Well the exynos 1000 is said to be close to on par with apples chips. Will see though

as a potential Note 20 buyer, it’s worrying to find out that Samsung uses different chips in their flagships. The Snapdragon will be US while those of us in the U.K will be stuck with the Exynos, a chip that’s not as good as the Snapdragon. However the device will still cost the same, that doesn’t seem fair especially for less performance. At least Apple use only 1 chip in their flagship phones.

Dave its splitting hairs for spec check chasers IRL it is negligible.

Often there are pro's by not having US variant if you were more susceptible to carrier bloat, modem band widths for international use, dual sim, update frequency etc etc they are stuck with :)

Some years you even got a better Sony lens over Samsung and so on

There are greater discrepancies in fairness in the international Variants when it comes to Apple products than you think

Interesting, i see people comparing specs and benchmarks with the Snapdragon coming out on top (obviously that's for the Note 10 since the 20 hasn't even been announced yet). I'm going to keep an open mind and see what they announce next month :)

The S-pen is the biggest draw for me, i haven't used an Android device since the S4, it will be interesting to say the least.

In truth I would ignore these comparisons they seldom reflect reality and its not like you have a choice to use the US version :)

I've used the lowly Exynos for a few years now, sure, I'd like a, faster chip but I've not had issues from using the Exynos personally, maybe a little jealous when I see comparisons but we all know what they're worth aside from making us a little jealous.

As fun as benchmarks a stuff are, usability is king.

Here is the flat baby of the house Note20. Everything ticks except the price 😏

It’s not really just the speed battery life is certainly worse....maybe LTPO means we won’t see much of a difference but will see

I know some who won’t get this due to the chip. Let’s face it the chip is a direct link to the user experience which is the most important factor in a phone

TBH, 99.9% of people who buy the phone probably a) wouldn't know what was in their phone and b) wouldn't know what a snapdragon was if you slapped them around the face with one.

In the real world it's really a non-issue. I have the UK varient of the S20+ and get 2-3 day's worth of battery life on average, never see/feel any stutter and don't notice any significant heat.

I don't think that's the overall point. For example if they both cost the same, one is getting a better processor than the other, and a possible effect on battery life. Why not just put one chip in all the different phones, that's what Apple does.
