I'll wait until they have better promos, like a free TV or something. :D (it's actually normal for Samsung Indonesia. Right now, they are running a promo of free Air Purifier when you buy the S20+/Ultra, or free makeup set when you buy the S10 Lite)

I think most countries will get some kind a bonus or promotional gift this time around.

Imported ? If so, i wouldn't import a flagship expensive phone for many reasons including warranties.
It has a full warranty, the chip I wanted, regular updates & been flawless. My point was, seems a bit strange someone would highlight they could save 30% if they waited an entire year after release....

I got the red Buds that were released when I got my S20...are those Buds+?? I’ve lost track of all the names. I think I follow too much tech news. o_O Anyway I love them! I wear them with my red Iphone SE and they work well with the SE. I’m not trying to do anything fancy like have conversations on them. I just wear them to listen to music or to watch videos. They actually stay put when I am working around the house.

Those beans are cute. I hope they work well.

The Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra look beautiful. I can’t wait for all the reviews. I am skipping this year because the S20 is such a great size for me and I feel like I have barely owned it. Unlike my S10+ with the proximity sensor problem, it’s not annoying me into a premature jump away. But I may jump back on the Note Series next year. Or see what they do with foldables.

Trade in value for Note10+ will be $650 and S9+ $400 as per Sakitech youtube channel. Plenty other phones on the list.

When it comes to Samsung flagships, it's almost like you're getting a bundle deal because of the usual freebies (in some countries). So you buy the Note 20/20U, you get a free pair of the new Buds Live, you buy the Galaxy Watch 3 at regular price, and overall, you got a bundle at discounted price. And in some cases, you even get credits along with the free Buds. Use these credits to get the watch, and you even get a better deal.

Here in Australia we had the worst deals with the launch of s20 variants but Note 10 was very generous. Samsung offered $600 credit for my s9+ and free $500 worth wireless headphone if i preordered Note10+ so it was irresistible overall.

Easy to say, but I don't believe that. If you loved what the Note had to offer, but gave you slightly less performance than a different region, you wouldn't pass it up.

Living in and buying SD region phone from Samsung is still supporting them.
I have a Samsung note 10+ because it is SD. If my only option was to get a exynos phone, then I wouldn't have a Samsung phone at all.

To be clear the difference is not just a trivial amount of processing power. The exynos phones suffer much worse battery life, lag, and even much worse camera performance.

Those also happen to be the 3 most important functions of a phone to me, so I would take my business elsewhere and get a SD phone.

There is no way I would put up with the shortcomings of Exynos for a s pen.

In real life everyday use, what is one concrete example of an Exynos version performing unacceptably bad compared to its Snapdragon counterpart?

You might notice the difference if you did extensive side by side testing.

People that are only able to obtain an Exynos version, are unlikely to notice any difference because they have nothing to compare it to.

You said you wouldn't support a company releasing different variations of the same phone for the same money. But you're supporting them now.

I hope when a couple of years ago and people were complaining the SD performed worse than the Exynos, you weren't buying SD phones. And won't buy any future Notes if the same happens again.

Yep easy to moan when its not in your favor :)

I think there is more to this like bootloader and unlocking is not possible on the Snapdragon as likely US teleco's do not want you breaking free and de-branding them, similar Chinese markets and Korean are not easily ported elsewhere.

Then there is the whole legacy CDMA and other peculiarities to US market that Qualcomm readily support.

As you note it was not that far back when Exynos had the edge and came with Sony Sensors but did not support the odd bands in US by some Teleco's

All OEM's have variants world wide some are due to country policies others are by choice.

I have noted before Apple do not give the same warranty or support in many countries yet these owners pay the same if not more for their Apple goods, where's the uproar and sympathy for those owners.

I can’t compare as don’t have access to both variants but I have no issue with exynos performance. The only thing I’d like to see is an improvement in battery life, especially considering how big the ultra battery is. I do wonder how battery life compares between both.

If the iPhone 12 is 60hz youre right, I won't buy it. But again, I've heard several people here talk about that like it's already been confirmed. A lot of the most popular leakers are still saying the iPhone 12 will have some 120hz models. So I don't think we know either way yet.

I'm going to trade my pro max for the 12 max. My only reason is 5G. The signal reliability and penetration is noticeably superior. At least that's what I've experienced on my S20 Ultra. Hopefully 5G will eliminate the mediocre signal strength iPhone is notorious for.

I'm not that concerned with 120hz on the iPhone yet. Cause the animations and scrolling is slow to see the advantage across the board vs on Android phones.

Just dont tell her until the return period is up. Then you can slip out a few months down the line and tell her you got it on sale

might be a good idea. Do love the note line but will always need an iPhone as my daily driver. So this is the only way I can do it really. Will wait on official pricing though

Many hours less screen on time for one.

If you are on the Samsung forms like I am, you will see people constantly up in arms that their non Snapdragon phones can never achieve the great SOT numbers.

This is also been born out in many test you can find on YouTube but is even more prevalent in real life

I saw the leaked video earlier, I’m glad there is now an actual flat screen on the Note again. I’m using a curve screen on the Motorola Edge and it’s passable for day to day interactions. However when I used the s pen on the note 10 it was a frustrating experience. With the 4500 mah battery and curved screen of the Ultra, the regular Note seems to be the perfect compromise in comparison.
