Itunes, customisation and iphone5 were biggest deterrence for me to depart the apple island.
Instead having 2 Android phones i am thinking keeping an apple and Samsung phones this or next year.

I kind of got out of the customization part of it. Like I used to flash themes on my old S2 or gosh, remember CM's Theme Engine? So much fun. Now for me, icons are icons and even with Samsung, I usually just stick to the stock theme because I always find something that doesn't match and then it bugs the crap out of me.

With thousands themes, Wallpapers and icons in galaxy store you can mix up your own themes and come up with a beautiful and unique screen.

Oh I change wallpapers a lot, but I always find the themes super frustrating because they only customize stock icons and not 3rd party. So then it didn't look uniform and I'd always go back to stock. I understand that's just me though, I'm OCD that way.

I’m the same. I change wallpapers quite often, however I don’t care for themes or icons.. the way it customize One UI doesn’t sit well with me. Themes are too cartoonish at times and icons aren’t applied enough throughout the HomeScreen. I try to use Animated Videos for the LockScreen and I check almost daily to see what sales are in the Galaxy Store.

Another thing that grinds my gears is that a lot of the artists on the Galaxy Store will release a video wallpaper but not a still version to match it. That way I could have the video wallpaper on the lock screen and a still version on my home screen.

Samsung really need to get rid of the customize stock because they make the screen look plain.

Yeah, thats my mindset. My iPad Pro 12.9 is too invaluable for me to lose. It does pretty much everything I need. And the Note complement it so well... granted its two different platforms. I just like the mulitasking aspect that's missing from the iPhone.

If phones this fall continue to be underwhelming, I might upgrade my first gen iPad Pro to the newest model. How do you like the magic keyboard?

Yeah, I purchased a dock even before Apple announced the Magic Keyboard. And although, the Magic Keyboard looks promising and I’m sure I would enjoy it just as much as you. But the versatility of this dock (it can be moved in various angles along with landscape/portrait) and the fact it’s a much more reasonable option in terms of price. I couldn’t just give it up in favor of the Magic Keyboard.

And the odd thing about my setup (dock, keyboard and mouse). I used to frown upon those who tried to use the iPad as a “laptop”... and now, that’s what I do majority of the time.
The iPad Pro is silly good. As my MBP starts getting old, I'm considering just going all in on the iPP and using that alone once the MBP retires. iPad OS really transformed the iPP to much more of a laptop equivalent, and when I discovered all that's possible on it for music work...mind blown. Having a touch screen is a very significant advantage compared to most laptops, although that seldom gets mentioned in comparisons.

But to at least partially save this from being totally OT... What my iPP (12") turns out NOT to be for me is a replacement for a big phone. I downsized from iPhone 7 Plus to 11 Pro but the iPP definitely doesn't come out for late night gaming sessions or lazy watching movies in bed. It's way too big and heavy for that, and OLED is indispensable at night for me. I'm thinking about going iPhone 12 Max (or whatever it gets called) + smallest affordable iPhone possible for everyday pocket use, an SE or even a used iPhone 8.

I was hot for the Note, but Samsung not carrying over the lesser screen curve of the S20 Ultra is a deal breaker for me. Plus it has just become too damn handy for me to have my Mac files on iCloud so I can edit Pages and Numbers docs for work on the go using an iPhone. The Note would become a ridiculously expensive mini media tablet and I just can't motivate paying top dollar for that. If they go flat screen next year and improve Samsung Notes, I might be interested again though, as I do love fiddling around with Android.

I wouldn't know. @The Game 161 can help you with that question. I occasionally use K811 Logitech, but I primarily use Logitech Keys-To-Go with my iPad Pro along with MM2. But yeah, I'm waiting for the newest iPad Pro coming late fall or early next year.... with that rumored upgraded screen looks interesting.

I like the fact the K811 has backlit keyboard and key travel is nice, but I like the dedicated keys that Keys-To-Go provide.

Typing experience is outstanding. I have used a lot of keyboards over the years and the typing on it is top draw. The backlit I like as it adjusts to the Lightning. I know some don’t like that as they would rather want real function keys to adjust it.

Only downside to the magic keyboard is no function keys to play and pause and to adjust lightening.

This obviously cost me £350 but given how much I use it I love it and worth it to me.

The material isn’t the best which is why I put a skin onto it so it no longer will look worn down on a long period of time

Yes, why oh why did they make the flat display for the Note 20, only? This is a device people write on.

So, did they upgrade the fingerprint scanner at all? Samsung won’t get another penny from me until they get one that works. I’m so frustrated because the S9+ had one that finally worked well for me. I love my S20 but I’m not digging the FPS.

The ultra will be perfect once they fix the design flaw in the screen. Hopefully next year.

Getting the 12 pro max and was just about to purchase the Note 20 ultra until I found out you cant do 120hz on WQHD, that totally killed my excitement for this phone sigh :( will wait for the one plus 8 pro T or the regular 8 pro since it's looking to be the only phone this year that can use max resolution at 120hz

I'm curious... if your purchasing decision is based off 120hz, rumors are indicating the 12 Pro Max won't have 120hz... will that change your mind?

Battery life is likely why. Maybe with new chips it will come on S21

I have the 11 Pro max right now and yea im aware of no 120hz on the 12 this year unfortunately but I do upgrade every year so I am excited for squared off iPhone 4 body. And the pro version this year will be the first ever phone have 10 bit colour support so the screen should look fantastic!. Is it possible the Note 20 ultra could get a software update which could force 120hz at WQHD?

For potential purchasers, better get the pre orders with the bundled Galaxy Buds now. The Ultra apparently doesn't come with a wired earbud, so if you miss the promo, you'll have to shell out a USB-C earbud or a Bluetooth headset.

I think we need to confirm yet, as most of these early unboxing are not full release sets there is packaging for pen tips, adapter for wired transfer and even possibly wired headphones (same packaging as USB-C power cable) all these review only units have these missing so far, but its not to say they will be in the retail boxes

That's just me complaining about the hole in the screen which I still see as a design flaw and have to wait until they stop this awful movement in phone design to buy one.

Might be gone by note 21 or S22. If you hate the hole you would hate the notch lol
