First full day of usage, it is Saturday so phone has been used a bit more than normal. Took off charge at 0830, its now 2130 and I'm down to 8% battery. Got 6.5hr screen on time. UK model N20 ultra.
That’s very good. I managed to get 4 hours, 40 mins screen time yesterday which was my best yet.

I would imagine you’re po’d at Apple but my advice would be to keep your iPhone so you can gracefully transition yourself to a Samsung. Otherwise the shock to your system might send you back prematurely. I’m sure you’re technically proficient and so switching won’t confuse you the way it does for a soccer mom like me, but there may be certain things on iOS that you rely on more than your realize and it may take you a bit of time to figure out suitable substitutes. There are always so many varied reasons people don’t take the switch well so I can’t assume anything on your behalf. I know in my own case it’s an immense help to be able to use both platforms. In the USA it’s hard to shake a dependence on iMessage, for example, in many social circles.

If it’s too expensive and you need to get rid of one phone to afford the other then maybe split the difference and go to an SE 2020 and a Samsung S20 through some sales or deals. Or a used cheaper iPhone.

I don’t remember if the S Pen is pressure sensitive. Your post got buried so I hope someone sees your question and can answer for you.

Samsungs have traditionally had good cooling for games. I don’t know if that’s still true because it’s not really discussed anymore. But my S20 runs cooler than my iPhones at average tasks.

As the mother of Fortnite players I extend my sympathies to you on your dilemma and I hope you get the answers you seek. You may want to do a separate post if you haven’t already so your questions don’t get buried under new user reports.

Good luck to you on making the switch!
Thanks for your kind reply and advice! :)

Well, I don't rely on the iPhone that much. I used it mainly for development, photos, few calls, play some games, browse the web, emails, write some notes, and some other weird administration stuff which can be easily done on Android, too. Same here in Germany, hard to get around WhatsApp, but for communication I use WhatsApp and Signal already, and don't depend of iMessage.

I always made sure to not depend much of the Apple Eco System, somehow I saw it coming, was just a matter of time till it hits me.

Till now, the iPhone was mainly my private Unreal Engine development testing ground, and Apple is now badly crossing my way, thats why I want to ditch it. But I also dislike to continue supporting them, I can't share their values anymore, they overstepped the mark. Anyway, the iPad will be a bit harder to replace, but I'll manage this. too.

Yeah, also have two Fortniters and Minecrafters at home, luckily they use Android already.
Many parents likes to finger point at Fortnite and Minecraft, but thats not Fortnites fault. In my childhood the Bogayman was other type of games, or the computers in general. Now with corona and all the lock downs, I'm happy they have Fortnite and Minecraft to play.

But thats off-topic, and I don't want to hijack this thread.

I'm still researching for Devices, I won't do a thoughtless move, Thanks! :)

Hi, you wrote that you own the Xperia 1 Mark ii, did it get something like Night Shoot mode for Photos per Update?
It's also a device on my top5.
Hey. No it doesn't have a dedicated night mode per se, but the Photo Pro app does allow you to take night photos due to the control over shutter speed and other things. Night photos do come out fairly good from this phone from the normal camera when there is some light in the shot. In pitch black or close to pitch black Apple, Samsung and Pixel will always win.

Nah, im not after a pitch black shoots, but if it comes close to what my eyes can see at night, it would be nice.

Well (sorry to derail thread) this phones photos are the closest I've ever seen to real life. The colours are absolutely spot on everytime. I have an iPhone SE (2020) which looks like a warm yellow filter has been put over every photo in comparison.
I hate it.
Whilst the 1 ii has shortcomings, it's one of my favourite phones.

Went fishing with my sons this morning. The camera on the N20U so far been a mixed bag of blurry shots and some really nice shots.

All of these are point and shoot no editing

Damn you live in a pretty part of the US...very jealous. Florida is mostly flat and boring. I miss living out near the mountains.

How are people finding the fingerprint reader? Coming from a Pixel, it seems a little harder to center my finger for a perfect fit.

Also, is there a way to turn off the lock screen if I'm using the always on display?

Coming from a S9+, I'm not the biggest fan of where the fingerprint reader is and how it works. For me, it works most of the time, but it doesn't seem to work real fast.

I don't use the always on display, so I can't comment on that.

Overall, I'm liking the phone. The Buds Live fit my ears and work for me. Plus it's the first wireless earphones that don't lag when I'm playing a game.

I've used notes since the Note 3.
I've never had to do this before, but this was from an active screen, not a locked screen.

I had just finished the setup, ill try again later.

Well I tried again, and didn't have to, maybe I imagined it? :D
Maybe it’s enabled if certain security features are met? I’m not sure, but my A71 requires it. Did you enable a Samsung account? I wonder if it’s a Knox feature that gets enabled if user created and logged in with a Samsung account. Too lazy to start over my A71 with just a Google account. :D

Still a good security fallback if the phone got stolen. It ensures the thief cannot just turn the phone off right away.

I think I just imagined it?

But yeah, would be a good feature.

Multiple reasons:

- In 2 days, I had probably 15-20 accidental touches

- I butt dialed 2 people

- Blurry photos of moving objects are just too much to handle for a $1,300 phone.

- I had mutliple issues with text messages failing. This could have been a T-Mobile issue because it was isolated to a couple hours Thursday night.

- It doesn’t run iOS.

lol overall it really is a great phone but I knew within less than two days that I was going to be going back to the iPhone so I just returned it right away. No use in prolonging that process.

Haha you sound like me. I tried the S20 ultra when that came out and lasted 3 days also but it’s really Android and what Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ does to Android that annoys the crap out of me.

Also discovering that Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ uses cheap plastic on their sim trays in a $1400 phone after almost snapping it in half attempting to put it back in the phone SMH.
