I can do that with the gestures, I’m sure there’s a Good Lock feature to add more functionality to it. But I can swipe back to apps similar to how it’s done on iOS.
Not sure what I'm thinking of then, unless I needed Good Lock to do it from anywhere on either side.

Well, I've read that Nova Launcher negatively effects gestures to the point doing swipe back to apps doesn't work. But then I read that it's now been fixed, I wouldn't know though. I use One UI.

Not sure what you mean, I don't use Nova.

Contrarion here re: gestures: I love the back button on Android so much, better than gestures although I use both, and miss it when I go back to iOS. Also ability to run app within app (google maps and messaging mostly). App systen is just annoying on ios after using Android. App drawer is also awesome as is ability to customize homescreen. S Pen is so wonderful for lists and note-taking . I go back and forth between Apple and Samsung but when I return to Apple I miss some of the Samsung features badly. I switched from Mac to Surface several years ago so Microsoft/Samsung integration is a bonus. I skipped Apple offerings last year and am buying a 12 Pro Max this year simply bc it makes messaging so much easier with my elderly mom who uses an ipad constantly. Otherwise I have not missed iOS. Our family of both Android and Apple users uses WhatsApp for texting - it's as good as iMessage for us. I use Google Messages and Messenger for other contacts and it works just fine. I have noticed that Samsung Pay and Pass have improved so much in the past year or so as well as speed of the fingerprint sensor where I don't miss Face ID or Apple's password system. Also battery life has been stellar with Note 10 and now Note 20 Ultra. I use Watch Active2 and it works as well for my limited purposes as my Apple Watch. Also, stock One UI launcher is great; I'd stick with basic for now.

Give yourself the full 14 days with your new phone before you make a decision. The first time I made the switch from iphone to Note 8 it was a real adjustment and I might not have stayed with Android if I'd only given it a few days bc it was new and unfamiliar.

While waiting for my device to arrive today, I have tried to turn off two factor authentication as apparently required by the Samsung Smart Switch app. On the Apple ID page it says "on" with no option to turn it off, I have Googled and apparently there is no way of turning it off as Appel require it in later devices. Does this mean that when my phone arrives I won't be able to transfer my things over to my new Note device?

If I have too I will just set the Note 20 Ultra up as new, install the apps I need and port over any photos from my Mac. As for iMessage it isn't a big deal as I don't really use it that much anyway.

I don't remember Apple doing this, it feel like they are trying to make it more difficult to switch from their iPhone

If you restore via Smart Switch and iCloud it won’t pull everything down - use cable to cable. It will be faster, and you’ll be able to transfer more data.
Let us know how you get on.

My very first impressions were that it's very well built (feels premium). The screen is just WOW, i haven't even got it on full brightness.

All of my apps and data have now been transferred, i will have a play around ?
Good stuff. As a start point have a look at my following post with the list of first steps.

Yea I did look at you're previous post and I followed the advice, using the cable was a lot faster.

I've just figured out that i can have two apps open at the same time, not only that but I can re-size them however I see fit (something I could never do on the iPhone) what sort of wizardry is this ?

It’s fab isn’t it. Wait until a few days have passed and you can quickly launch two apps at the same time without issue. Check out the edge window - you can save app pairs for quick launch.

I’m waiting for the iPhone 12 Pro Max but now missing the Note!

It really is, I’ve always wanted to be able to launch video apps like YouTube while using a web browser or take notes.

It seems like there are a lot of features, it will probably take time but I’m discovering more and more each time.

If you have a smart TV try Dex ?

I‘m not really into the App Pairs features... my workflow is more focused on the edge window, bringing apps into Pop-Up View to glance at something. And then you can move the Pop-Up View into a bubble, it’s just cool feature.

No shade to the iPhone, it is what it is. But I just like all the explorational features that Galaxy provide.

Agreed. For me, being in the UK we only have the Exynos and I’m not a fan compared to the gains of the SD.

Plot twist: Samsung had this already 8 or 7 years ago, I still remember it from my Galaxy S3, the only android I had before the Note20U ?

Yea there are definitely things you notice once you put a foot outside the Apple ecosystem. I’m also surprised at how well these features work. Apple were always known as the ones who waited to perfect a feature, however I’ve been playing around with the S-Pen and it’s features for most of the day now, im yet to have a single issue (no crashes, no lag and so on).

It’s very early days, but so far colour me impressed.

Yeah, this is true. I honestly like the feeling of the S-Pen more than both Apple Pencils now ?

Well, we are both at the beginning of this story, hope we will like it! After more than two weeks in, I'm glad I made the switch.

Dave a bit like when you had the SP6 there is more than one store :)

So do not forget to go the the Galaxy store hit the 3 bars hamburger button and my apps for updates too

You will also find other specific apps there some by Samsung and lots of themes and other stuff to play with till you get bored LOL

I have been so impressed with my Note 20U.
It has been getting great battery life....
The camera is awesome....
The whole user experience has been amazing!
My only minor complaint (if you can call it that) are the sharp corners. I wish they were rounded instead.

I have been on the Android 11 beta with the new One UI 3. It is really rock solid. I haven't had a app crash yet.
Battery life has improved in the beta and the FPS was always good...but on the beta it has been even faster

Does anyone know if its normal for the battery to drop from 100% quicker than it does on the iPhone? It could just be the phone settling in but it seems like the battery percentage drops from 100% quicker than my iPhones use to.
