Does anyone know if its normal for the battery to drop from 100% quicker than it does on the iPhone? It could just be the phone settling in but it seems like the battery percentage drops from 100% quicker than my iPhones use to.
Similar point raised recently in another thread that suggest Apple deliberately show a slower drain initially then much faster later

I would not read to much into the drop in % status of battery but look at overall usage

Ok thanks, i will keep an eye on the battery usage overall. It could also be because it's new and i'm using it heavily (listening to music with the Buds Live, using the S-Pen and so on).

It's really weird going from an iPhone to a Note, there are things i can do on this that i simply dreamed of on iPhone (multiple apps open at once, using the S-Pen, customising it). Also even the screen design with the curve just looks more modern than iPhone. I simply don't understand why Apple has never implemented any of these.

Don't forget to change the default basic settings to high performance if you want to maximise usage like screen resolution, sound, power mode.....

Dolby atmos must be on.

While I would love to have better multitasking and customisation options on iPhone, and Pencil compatibility, the screen curve is one I hope they never adopt. Subjective of course, but I can't stand that particular design element, especially not on a device which comes with a pencil. I was looking forward to the Note 20 U but the screen curve made it a no go for me.

Yea it can be a little awkward to use the Pen on the curved edge. I like the design tho, especially compared to the iPhone 12, personally I think they were lazy with it and reused the old iPhone 5 design.

I can't believe that I have gone from being a BIG iPhone fan (I had iPhone many iPhones over the years) to complaining about them and even jumping ship to another device.

Even the s20 curve would've been better as the curve is less severe

Stand the NU20 and iPhone together with home screens open - you really get a feel for how dated the iPhone looks/feels in comparison.

Yea I noticed that myself when I took the Note 20 Ultra out of the box on Sunday and sat it next to my 11 Pro Max. It's a shame Apple haven't moved forward very much in the last few years. While being in the walled garden and only using iPhone you don't really see it, but just stepping out and trying another device you definitely see the difference right away.

I'm not bashing Apple for everything, I won't suddenly become an Apple hater, I like my Apple Watch, Macs and iPad Pro. But iPhone wise they have definitely fell behind the competition, at least when it comes to features and design.

In all fairness, my stack widget and then my most used utility apps makes for a pretty nice looking and efficient Home Screen. But I won’t discount

the fact that your first few days on the Note will definitely feel fresh.

Yeah, this will depend on what you prefer. I like having majority of the apps I use often on my home screen, but then also the addition of the photo gallery and accuweather widgets was welcomed. You can do this on the iPhone now, but I think the screen real estate on the Note is managed way better

Agreed. I’m not an Apple hater. I’m always torn between iPhone and Android mainly because of some of the functionality like iMessage and friends in the US.

I just feel like they’ve found a formula and have become lazy because it sells, and sells well - there’s no driver to push the boundaries until iPhone sales start to decline. There was a point when they had the best hardware mixed with the best software but that’s long gone.

A good combination is a Mac, Android phone and an iPad - using mostly Google services. Once WhatsApp introduce multi device support, it will be much easier to switch up devices more often cross platform.

I prefer to have a macOS style set up. I use this kind of set up with my iPP too. Trying to determine if I want to add more apps to my dock using GoodLock, but haven’t decided what apps to add.

I cannot download Good Lock from the Galaxy Store in Europe, I am jealous! This would be actually great to have even more space.

I definitely cosign this! I don't really use WhatsApp, what I would dream of is if Apple gets pressured to add RCS support, whether from the public or government. That would be huge win! But that's a pipe dream... it would diminish the use of iMessage.
I should stop reading these forums. Been looking at a brand new white Note 20U import for £850. ?
What phone you currently using?

Android certainly does have more features than iphone and it does take the iphone a while to get it. However after a while you get to the point where these extra features aren’t always used.

This is why i like having both android and IOS. I get to use the features android will always release no matter what stage it’s at to see what works....apple does take longer as they know generally people are happy with the user experience and need IOS in their daily life.

It’s why all creators will always use iPhones part of that software/ecosystem is what keeps people happy even if there are features missing.

I can’t say apple are far behind in terms of features aside from spilt screen multitasking/pop up windows and periscope lens. Those are the main features missing for me...i know periscope lens will be coming but in two years.

Maybe spilt screen comes in IOS 15 who knows.

It’s good to have that experience using both so you can see what works the best.

Definitely, i still have my 11 Pro Max, i haven't sold it. i still Love my Macbook Pro and iMac, even tho im desperate for Apple to redesign the iMac since i still have the 2012 version. My Apple Watch and iPad Pro are great devices as well.

For me owning this Note 20 Ultra is so that i can have a play outside of the Apple ecosystem (kind of like looking over the neighbours fence). So far i like what im experiencing.

You thinking to use it as a 2nd device then to go with your iPhone?

I think this is a bit of an exaggeration even Apples own metrics show how few use professionals grade software on macos let alone ios :)
Talking more you tuber creators who depend on video on the go... I know people I'm close to all use macos and ios. Alot wouldn't consider anything else for professional use.

At this point I don’t really know, yesterday and today are the days where I have exclusively used my Note 20 Ultra. I really like it, however at this point I can’t remove the iPhone fully simply because of my Apple Watch for when I go running.

the only thing that worries me at this point is that the battery on my Note 20 Ultra, is at 48% after I took it off charge at 6:45am this morning. I’m hoping it will last the rest of the day.
