Anyone that used LastPass getting a popup in Samsung browsers address bar asking to autofill? It's almost as if LastPass thinks it's a username or password field. Can't get it to go away other then relogging in to LastPass which is getting annoying.

Yes I had that. Was really annoying so for now I turned off auto fill in the lastpass app. It made entering website addresses a real pain.

Weird. I tried a few settings in LastPass but nothing fixed it. I guess it's an issue with their app and how it recognizes username/password fields.

Anybody know how to get rid of the annoying "turn on read confirmation" every time you get a new text conversation? I'm on Tmobile. I checked settings and turned that option off but I'm still getting this with every new conversation on the s10.

Check app permissions.

The more I look at my priorities in a phone, the more a Pixel makes more sense over the S10 line but still torn. I would be using this on the weekends if you will moreso for the camera as the top reason. XS Max during the work week.

Camera easily the top-kids,events
Social Media interaction
Timely Updates

I haven't heard good things about the Pixel screen but the other 3 things mentioned seem to fit that more then the S10.

Does Pixel have issues with Snapchat/Social media sites as well?

The Pixel did tend to get really laggy every time I had Snapchat open. The app worked ok but you can definitely tell the difference between the iOS and Android app.

Oh. Finally a question I can answer and not be just any middle-aged old fart.

I don't use Snapchat, but I've read about its problems on Android. This is due to the company using Android APIs, including but not limited to the camera, that are a decade old. A new built from the ground up version is coming out at the end of the year according to an article I read last week. However, the company has made some small performance strides to enhance the already lackluster experience. Going back to the camera, the current API used is apparently not a method that was ever used on Android when it first came out.

When you consider the company disregarded billions of users because they were hyper-focused on iOS, you get these kinds of problems. Facebook addressed their issue many years ago by forcing employees to use Android phones and their Android app to rectify the issue.

The end game is that until Snapchat fixes their own mistake, they'll continue to bleed active users to other platforms. Fact is that Facebook can take whatever new feature they bring out and put it on their Instafaceandfoodphotos platform and have it be bug free and working perfectly, I assume. Give it another year or two and I suspect Snap Inc's CEO is going to regret never taking Zuckerberg's offer.

Alright, after watching MKBHD’s latest video on the Galaxy S10e, the wallpaper he used is my new favorite for those devices...:p

Its called. Display Tester made by Braintrapp. The Black crush test is in the banding. contrast and saturation tab its called Black saturation test.
He said he saw the black boxes. Is there any option in this app to actually manipulate settings to get rid of the black crush. I'm trying to get him to tell me what he got out of the test and it's like pulling teeth.

I'm loving the Galaxy Watch Active look and feel so far. It will be awhile before I get a good sense of full functionality. It's paired to my 3XL. My husband will wait for his watch to come in. That will likely arrive at the same time as my S10whatever

No, there is no way to calibrate the display from within the app. Basically he should be able to see all the boxes except for the one labeled 0 which is true black.

I liked his review. I am going to take my S10e to my carrier to test the FP sensor and see if I can get it to work. I might make this thing work after all.

My sensor is still too finicky.

Try getting your phone exchanged. Use Smart Switch to backup your phone, reformat phone to factory and exchange it once you're cleared to do so.

It isn't unheard of to get a faulty phone. I've had to exchange iPhones numerous times in the past because factory QA rushed something.

So I'm day 5 into S10 ownership now and I still have made no decision around which phone I actually want to keep (this or XR). :p

Have I missed using my iPhone? Not reallllly. Maybe a little for certain apps like WhatsApp, which I just don't think is as good on Android.

The actual hardware of my XR I don't miss at all really. It's very heavy and the screen doesn't look amazing now after staring at the S10 for the last 5 days.

One thing that I haven't missed too much is the Apple Watch. I don't use it like some die hards do - so there's no fitness going on with my Watch haha  I don't count steps, the heart rate monitor was turned off when I got it and I used it for notifications only. I don't find myself bothered that I can't see them until I go and check my phone - it actually gives me a reason to be on my phone when I go back to it after a long period of time without it. Rather than it being in front of me and a distraction.

I haven't had chance to test the camera at all on the S10 yet, outside of pictures taken in and around the house - which are totally uninteresting. It looks decent enough though.

I think I could easily sell my XR and keep this S10, but my only concern would be when the next good Android comes out - will my head turn. I don't want to embroil myself in that kind of swapping and changing like I've done so much of in the past. I've had my XR for the last 6 months and was more than happy with it. My concern would be swapping to the S10 and becoming fatigued with certain things quicker than I am on iOS.

It's always more difficult to go back to iPhone outside of my upgrade cycle due to how expensive their hardware is. That's why I planned to just keep my XR, but here we are with an S10 in hand.

The fingerprint reader has become extremely reliable for me now, no issues at all to report really.
I do prefer music play back on Android - I like having many options with controls (lock screen, notification shade etc) - it is a better user experience. Even if I do prerfer Apple Music on iPhone over any other Android music play back.
I've opted for YouTube Music which I much prefer over Spotify which was my go to for Android Music.

Google Play Music is terrible in my opinion, so anything better than that is all I look for.

I'm still unsure over the S10 or the Plus. But that's something of nothing really as the phones are still essentially the same, and it's the experience of Samsung's android on here that is the biggest test.

Now I have the Lean Launcher installed, (and a new icon pack which has changed Samsung's awful stock apps to Google-ified ones) - I'm much happier.
Check them lovely icons out. :D

It doesn't look like a Samsung (software) now - which I'm pleased with haha. I know that's a terrible thing to say, but their aesthetic has always been extremely lacking for me.
I have been guilty in the past though of just accepting something at face value and deciding I don't like it. I haven't done that with the S10 as much. From people's help here, I have changed a lot on the phone to suit it more to my tastes and it has made a huge difference.

It's only Samsung, to my knowledge, that let you personalise like that. So massive hats off to them for allowing it.

Some of their aesthetic is great though - I love the lock screen music play back / controls.

I am not crazy about that FPS icon and that pause button not being aligned though... But I'll let them off.

Overall, I do love the S10. Compared to other Android phones I've used, it is up there as one of the better ones, no question.
I think I will continue with it over the coming days and see how it treats me a week into ownership. Should be in a much better position then to make a decision. :)

It’s funny how we all like different things. There was another poster on the who bought the S10 thread and returned to iPhone who said that the android music player on the lock screen didn’t look as good as the iOS lock screen player.

Glad you’re liking the phone. Yep it looks totally different to the stock Samsung launcher. That’s the beauty of android.

I’m still deciding myself on what to do but reading all your reviews is helping a lot.

When I was on android I was swapping phones every 4-5 months. At least with the iPhone I got it down to yearly with the odd Samsung here and there.
