I looked at a large number of bands still doesn’t negate the fact that I could find really one band that I liked compared to what I already own.

Plus it’s a moot point for me as I don’t like the software on the Galaxy Watch.
Absolutely if you like the band you already have then that's awesome, im just saying there are thousands of options out there that you can use on the Galaxy Watch.

Oh that’s not good. I don’t use most of the features on my Apple Watch but being able to answer calls if my phone is out of reach is one of them. If this just the active? Can you make and answer calls on the other galaxy watches (speak through the watch).

Also is there Bixby/Google assistant on the watch and can you get a spoken response to queries and commands?
[doublepost=1552497860][/doublepost]
Thank you.
They do have watches that let you make and answer calls. It's just a line called Galaxy Watch and is on the Samsung website for the US. There's a beautiful rose gold one I've seen in person that was pretty and I could probably wear it. I just found I hardly ever make or answer calls on my Apple Watch anymore and wanted to go in a different direction on my wearable.

There was a time when I did value the ability to use the watch as a wrist phone. I did like it when I was walking my dog a lot. But I found I missed having my phone with me to take pictures so started taking it along anyway. And my dog is really old and frail now and we can't go as far as we did a year ago.

Well 5 days in so far. I upgraded from the Galaxy S9+.

I absoutely love this phone! Going back to my S9+ to make sure i've copied everything across i'm already trying to unlock it using the underscreen FSP! The S10+ is also so much lighter which is nice.

I have had very few issues with the FPS on the S10+. A few no matches, but now i'm hitting it 9/10. Even with a no match it only takes a fraction of a second to realign my finger.

Biggest downside to me was the lack of notifaction light, however with the edge lighliting app this has well and truly solved that issue. It's amazing!

Best handset i've had to date. Love it!

Android isn’t for me, there’s too many things that annoy the crap out of me. The phone is amazing, I give Samsung mad props for releasing such beautiful hardware but I can’t give up all the benefits I have with Apple just for some increased customization options.

I also thought about getting a Galaxy watch to try but after checking one out at Best Buy again, I can safely the  watch is miles better. The software is not good, the watch faces are terrible (yes I’m aware of the thousands of options) having a thousand options is not a good argument if only 10 out of those thousand choices is actually good and I didn’t like the included strap (again compared to ’s band selection) it’s definitely leaves a lot to be desired.

Also don’t want to give up my workflow, continuity, airdrop and handoff features. IMO no other OEM even comes close.

But I’m happy that others are enjoying their phones and Galaxy watches.
I've been reading your posts that came after this one and it's good to have all the opinions pro and cons for switching from Apple to Android/Samsung. Having diverse points of view of what makes the switch a success or a failure for different people helps inform others thinking of making a switch for themselves. We don't all like or want the same things.

I do think Apple makes such a ridiculously well designed watch. Naysayers take it completely for granted what Apple engineers have been able to pack into such a small device.

For me, I like the way the Fitbit and the Galaxy Watch Active are oriented to fitness in the way I approach fitness, which is as a middle aged woman trying to de-chunk after a long stressful winter. Apple is all hardcore run club oriented. I ended up tuning it out. And jeez why does Apple Watch insist you stand as soon as your butt settles on the toilet seat? Or worse, congratulates you for attaining your move goal when you're sitting on the toilet? I swear my damn watch is just trolling me! It also has told me and my husband to go take a walk to make our move goals just as we've finally been seated at a restaurant.

Galaxy keep me active without making me feel old and hopeless. Fat and lazy, sure, but not old and hopeless. I don't know how to really explain it.

I thought that there was some software or a setting that made a ring appear around the camera cutout that mimicked this behavior?

Edit: while Samsung has said this is coming “soon” someone has already done it.

One of the things I miss about android is that google now or the google assistant as it’s now called used to give you notifications about upcoming football matches and give you live updates on the score.

I'm getting those kinds of notifications from Google all the time on my Pixel 3 XL. It may no longer be called Google Now but I have my Google feed to the left of my first home screen and both it and notifications are keeping me up to date on my favorite teams, topics, etc.

Anyone have experience with a Samsung warranty process or exchange process within first 14 days of purchase? Last year, they made me rebuy phones multiple times. Can't do that with my $130 promo.

Free wireless buds have been approved. I'm fine with wired headphones, so I'll be selling them. No doubt ebay will be flooded with them. lol

As an update to my earlier question, Samsung still has zero policy for exchanges. They told me I would have to return my phone and order another one. Ah, here goes nothing with my carrier or Best Buy.

I. Think S10e can be an XR killer in terms of the price and features in comparison. That said if people like iPhones better it won’t matter but the price here seems very reasonable.

nope, XR has bigger screen, better battery and camera, Fid that works flawless.

2) what on earth were they thinking placing the fingerprint sensor off center?

guess that solves why most are struggling with it, hit that thing bit to the right lol.

Yet you can do far more on the s10e oh and FPS works better on the e and quicker than face ID

so many people complaining about the E FPS, old tech in a new phone.
Ask @nviz22

FID is flawless on my XR. If it wasn't i would get rid of it.

Only going by what YouTube reviews are going by not people on here.

Face ID works well I agree but for FPS on the S10 works very well for me

Has anyone tried to get the Google camera APK on their S10?
Mine won't work. I've downloaded the app and it opens but some things like portrait mode and night sight don't work. I double tap the black box that the shutter button is in and get "you don't have configs!" message?

I downloaded the config too and extracted it but it isn't working. Am I doing something wrong?

The e fps is flawless for me and plenty of others on various other forums I frequent.

Sure there may be a few would rather it was a little lower on the side but no one I can recall has issue with its operation(apart from @nviz22).

I see the pros and cons to it as if you get a huge amount of notifications it stops you getting bugged every two secs

You still get through calls and texts on time just certain apps you don't get straight away

Just wish they allowed you to turn it on and off
I thought they did by toggling battery optimization off on selected apps or does some other aspect of "doze" goes further but switching optimize off allows the app to continue in background and so notifications etc

I think it must do as I have it off for all apps apart from android services as that seems to be draining more in the background

It's not like 30 mins wait more like 5-10 mins

Not a deal breaker though just not not what I'm used to.

I think it only works for snapdragon models
