Android isn’t for me, there’s too many things that annoy the crap out of me. The phone is amazing, I give Samsung mad props for releasing such beautiful hardware but I can’t give up all the benefits I have with Apple just for some increased customization options.
I also thought about getting a Galaxy watch to try but after checking one out at Best Buy again, I can safely the watch is miles better. The software is not good, the watch faces are terrible (yes I’m aware of the thousands of options) having a thousand options is not a good argument if only 10 out of those thousand choices is actually good and I didn’t like the included strap (again compared to ’s band selection) it’s definitely leaves a lot to be desired.
Also don’t want to give up my workflow, continuity, airdrop and handoff features. IMO no other OEM even comes close.
But I’m happy that others are enjoying their phones and Galaxy watches.
I've been reading your posts that came after this one and it's good to have all the opinions pro and cons for switching from Apple to Android/Samsung. Having diverse points of view of what makes the switch a success or a failure for different people helps inform others thinking of making a switch for themselves. We don't all like or want the same things.
I do think Apple makes such a ridiculously well designed watch. Naysayers take it completely for granted what Apple engineers have been able to pack into such a small device.
For me, I like the way the Fitbit and the Galaxy Watch Active are oriented to fitness in the way I approach fitness, which is as a middle aged woman trying to de-chunk after a long stressful winter. Apple is all hardcore run club oriented. I ended up tuning it out. And jeez why does Apple Watch insist you stand as soon as your butt settles on the toilet seat? Or worse, congratulates you for attaining your move goal when you're sitting on the toilet? I swear my damn watch is just trolling me!
It also has told me and my husband to go take a walk to make our move goals just as we've finally been seated at a restaurant.
Galaxy keep me active without making me feel old and hopeless. Fat and lazy, sure, but not old and hopeless. I don't know how to really explain it.
