Looks like I no longer have to agonise over XR or S10 .
Just represent both... :D

There a videos out showing the S10e having much better battery life.

grain of salt those, real life is the key, and they don't take battery drain into account, i get 2 full days out of a Xr with moderate use, no Samsung phone could do that.

Yes I said E as all the videos I've seen it looks quick and works well. The onscreen works as accurately as face ID for me

so next year when you are back to all in Apple again, will you be bagging Samsung again ;) flip flop flip flop :)

Oh I’m aware but those are draws for me but it’s irrelevant because of the software and plus many of those things will be coming to the iPhone.

I know any watch band will work but still I googled watch band replacements and I looked at quite a few and all of them too me were hot garbage compared to my  watch bands.

This band is one of my favorite watch bands ever! There’s nothing IMO that comes close to this that you can use on the Galaxy watches.

I guess you may have to like your bands more on the AW as the display is off most of the time so that's all you have to look at LOL

Still a bit cheap for my tastes but I was going to get the Mrs one to wear for a her morning jog but the LTE version is not available here

Even with a cheap 2nd hand Iphone plus watch it's not worth it for a couple of hours wear a day. There is no way she would wear an AW any other time than jogging. Her only other use was sleep tracking that her little fitbit does that I got free :)

The s10+ handily beats the XR in battery life, and no those videos show exactly how these phones handle being pushed. The standby time on the S10 is greatly improved over the previous generation too, its the battery king. Ive seen quite a few battery tests showing the S10e beating all the current iphones, its video evidence so i believe it and from multiple sources. see for yourself

As an update to my earlier question, Samsung still has zero policy for exchanges. They told me I would have to return my phone and order another one. Ah, here goes nothing with my carrier or Best Buy.
Well that's better than Apple here, no exchange, return or anything other than a DOA

fb messenger icon keeps appearing, how do i stop that. little round icon.
So you mean the chat head? When someone messages you get a round icon with their profile pic?

If so, open the messenger app, in the top left is your profile pic, tap that and then scroll down until you see the option to switch chat head off.

I’ve never bagged samsung and i’m Not bagging apple. You seem very defensive of apple yet you are in this section?

It’s great you get two days our of the XR but you can’t be using it doing anything major to get that usage seeing as they are saying the S10 plus is on par with the XR Battery life wise if not better.

Seeing as i use both Samsung and apple I fail to see how i’m Flip flopping...apple make great devices but in terms of a comparison to the S10 plus it does way less as a phone and for the price? It’s simply not worth the money seeing as the S10 plus costs 150 quid less..

I’m planning to keep my max for a while so i still get the apple experience but the S10 does far more as a daily driver and at the end of the day i want a phone that can do as much as possible not just basic tasks.

"Should of got a note 9 then, you can’t do anything more on your S10 than your max, just different ways of doing, don’t say split screen as that’s rubbish on a phone screen. Or widgets so old school."

Ahhh Robster.....

How about plugging headphones into the headphone jack?
How about copying files directly to or from the device, via usb device using the file system and not requiring 3rd party apps?
How about expanding your memory?
How about customising your homescreen, you know, so you can make it look like you want it to look?
How about using a fingerprint scanner instead of a notchy camera?
How about paying less for more memory?
How about matching a device with a supposed massive SOC advantage?
How about connecting it to a monitor for a desktop experience?

How about split screen multi tasking?

Are you sure it can't do "anything" the other phone can't?

And it's should have, should've but not should of...

Oh yes it’s rubbish on a phone until the iPhone gets it...

We all heard the same about wireless charging...

I have used it a decent amount and like reverse wireless charging it’s useful at certain times.

And there are some clear improvements from the note 9 from a technology point of view but for those with a note 9? Sure I can see why they wouldn’t upgrade if they want the S Pen.

Just like if i get the note 10 i would just wait for the note 11 instead of getting the S11 plus.

I got the S10 plus to get used to samsung devices again to see if i like them before i choose likely the note 10...i won’t be making a habit of buying the S series and note series every year...this is a one off.

I said i will review the iPhones come September but from all reports it will be a disappointment given they still plan on shipping a 5w charger in the box. Will see i guess but i’m Not expecting anything too great from apple these days.

Can’t use two phone. I’ve tried it for the last 3 years and my Samsung phone always ends up in a drawer and later on getting sold. Nothing wrong with the phones. They do so much more than my iPhone does but I can’t use two phones at once.

I’ve used split screen on the Samsung phones and and it’s teallt useful. Dex is good too and you can use VR headsets with Samsung phones. My max can’t do reverse wireless charging and it doesn’t have a triple lens camera. Samsung phones have so many features, many useful ones which simply aren’t available on the iPhone.

Shortcuts can't be engaged by geolocation, only by voice or touch. Sounds like she'd prefer for certain actions to be taken automatically when she arrives at work.
Yes I want it do be done automatically. Even with the reminder shortcut I still have to do it manually.

You will get a lot more value for your money with s10 than iphone. iphone 8 is not that old but comparing to Samsung phones it looks obsolete with huge bezels.

My mind

The number one feature that I like on Android devices that you can't do on an iOS device is accessing the file system. I have 3000-4000 pictures on some of my Android phones and as you know, that can take a very long time to scroll through and find the picture that you want.

I put them in actual folders with the person or places name and that of course removes them from the camera roll and places them in REAL, ACTUAL folders. iPhone places them in "folders" but still leaves them in the camera roll.

That is my number one favorite feature and I use it every day on my Note 9/S9+ and will do the same on my S10+.

Looks like FedEx will still get my phone to me today as it left Texas a few hrs ago and the Denver Airport is open again after our blizzard. Tracking now shows it here in Denver.
