Great phone except for the FPS. Probably worked about 3 times out of 30 attempts. I even added a second fingerprint (same thumb). I just think my thumb gets too dry perhaps. I really miss the iris scanner from my Note 8 :(

Funny thing about the fingerprint sensor for me, as I have been pretty critical about it. Read a random post on another forum about a user who was placing his finger just above where it shows the sensor, I dismissed this until I had 5 errors in a row, so I tried it. It now works much better, if I aim for the top half of where it shows the sensor.

Very weird, but makes it more useable to me for now. But I have had good and bad days, so we will see. Either way, don't think the sensor was ready for primetime, but glad to hear they will keep trying to improve it. Apple would be annihilated if they released this though.

I got some more time with the S10+ while my husband was grilling us some dinner. :D

Ew, from Amazon Prime Video, Star Trek Beyond’s first scene looked awful with the black crush. Looked like a bad animated gif. I tried changing settings and tried their Cinematic tweak. No luck. Every other well lit scene in that movie looked great. It might just be that movie. I don’t know. It looks like crap on every OLED I’ve seen it on so far. Except maybe the XS Max, but I don’t really remember for sure.

The fingerprint sensor does read my print but it takes me a moment to realize it’s done so. I get all spazzy fingered on it. I did read in an article dated today that Samsung is still working on updates for it. I find it accurate, just a little pokey. I’d be fine with it.

I just wrestle a little with the size of the S10+. I think the S10+ has actually got too much screen for me. Which is a very weird thing to say. I guess it’s because I’m already carrying two large phones.

I also think I just have too much of a tech crush on the little s10e. I keep thinking how it will be this cute little phone in my pocket. Although I walked the dog while I had an Xr in my back pocket and the 3XL crammed in my front jeans pocket. Go figure. And my butt isn’t that big. :D But I’ve got “mom jeans” with amazing pockets! So I don’t need a tiny phone. I just like how the S10e is proportioned.

I thought about getting a regular S10 so I don’t lose the zoom lens. But man, I love the flat display I saw at Best Buy. I usually write with my left hand, but overall I’m fairly ambidextrous, so I’m fine with the FPS on the right side.

The Pink Punk s10e will look cute with my yellow Xr.

Frosty the 3XL will reign as my big screen champ. Oh and I still have Snowball and I’m thinking of putting the Q beta on her.

My husband IS still trying to talk me into keeping my S10+ order. I know he loves this phone and thinks I’m making a mistake. I hope to visit Best Buy one more time tomorrow before I make the final decision. It is a shame that all the pre order deals are gone if I decide the S10 is the best fit for me.

One thing I do have a concern with is that the S10e at Best Buy ran pretty hot when I saw it last. Is it a phone that heats up pretty fast?
The only time my S10e felt hot was when I was first setting it up and installing like a hundred apps. Since then I haven't noticed any warm up.

Am surprised the black crush ghost still haunting s10 series wow. My s9+ had when it was new but after the early update it was gone. Also guys it makes difference if you tick the video enhancer in the settings.

Yeah, same here. Right after it was done setting up I browsed the web for about an hour and had two phone calls back to back for about 45 minutes. Phone was warm but nowhere near hot.

At least you are honest, those saying FPS is great have blinkers on.

From what I gather, the FPS needs a larger footprint.

If it were the lower third/half of the screen, then there’d be many less ‘misses’.

It was never fully gone on my S9+ but was very much reduced after the update. I did tick the video enhancer...it actually seemed to look a little worse for that particular movie. I don't think he had the 4k version. That's the version of the movie that should look good on this display.

Ordered an official leather case which is arriving today.
It's the navy blue one.

I did get a clear case from Amazon which is ok, but looking for something a little more luxurious haha so thought I'd pay for an over priced piece of thin leather.
:p

I just got my navy leather case from Samsung. IMO, it's no better or worse than the one Apple sells for the iPhones

Argh, I was hoping to get to Best Buy one last time to see the lineup one more time before deciding once and for all which orders to kill and which one to make.

Early this morning I found out I can now get the S10 pink in a 512 GB variant. I don’t get any special deals anymore but I still get the $550 trade in value for my S9+.

Unfortunately, and those of you who have kids likely will relate, as my husband and I were making plans to head to Best Buy after work, my 14 year old hit me with one of those last minute "Hey mom and dad there's this event I want to go to tonight...". This event was announced two weeks ago. I'm just now hearing about it because doofus remembered last night at midnight while in bed. So, no trip to Best Buy. I can't go now because I have too much laundry to do before I go do carpool duty. My poor elderly dog made some extra work for me while we were sleeping.

Oh well I remember what the danged phones looked like. I decided to cancel the S10e order I had made and change it to an S10 order, 512 GB.

That costs significantly more than the S10e and is a bit more even than the S10+ pre order my husband still has active for me. I lose the almost free case I had and the earbuds. Which I likely wouldn't have used anyway. However I did have enough rewards points to knock almost half off my case. :)

I loved that little S10e, but I couldn't really justify trading in my S9+ for a phone that loses the resolution and ppi the S9+ is capable of. I really don't want to lose the 2x zoom. I think the S10 will be a good middle ground for me between the S10+ and S10e.

I'd rather have the flat display and possibly the side mounted finger print scanner. But everything's a compromise.

I still didn't see any 512 GB option for non ceramic phones in the S10+ size. I guess that's coming eventually. I don't need 512GB. 256 GB would have been more than enough and 128 GB is actually sufficient. But 256GB wasn't offered. I do appreciate the wiggle room so went for the 512GeeBeez when I saw it was an option. My husband thinks I'm bonkers and I probably am. I don't care. I'm the one who has to use it day in and day out. :D

I am not sure what to do here in terms of phone resale value. My indecisiveness cost me about $50 on Swappa in terms of resale. I could easily keep the S10e and make about a $100 in my pocket for switching. However, Galaxies also tank super early, right?

Could I get to a point where my iPhone XS Max would be worth as much as the S10 or S10+? It would be wise to stick to my iPhone just based off resale value alone?

Wow, that's a lot of thought going into the purchasing process. Good for you! Like you said, you will be the one using it all the time. Don't give up! I'm sure you'll love whatever one you eventually go with.

What will you do with the incoming S10+? No sweat losing out on the extras if you wouldn't have used them. Interested to hear your comparison between the S10 and S10+ if you end up trying both. And if eventually you cave and go for the S10e haha!

Yeah there is still some black crush. The S10+ I tried and now my S10e both are virtually the same in this regard. For me it isn't at all noticeable in any content I watch, which is all I care about. My Pixel 3 XL on the other hand...yeesh...I find it really funny that the "budget" OnePlus 6T rivals Apple's OLED in dealing with black crush, it was almost imperceptible. Highly underrated screen and calibration on that phone. Resolution aside, that 6T was perfect.

Well my husband just texted me and said he will come home early enough (right after I'm done with the carpool) and we will head offer to Best Buy before we go to the event our kid wants to attend.

He says he still has a few days before he absolutely has to return his S9+ for trade.

I did definitely already kill my S10 E pre-order. There was nothing special about preordering that model because they didn't offer free ear buds for it.

We are keeping my S10+ pre-order alive for now. But I am going to make up my mind this weekend. I am not going to let both models come to the house. I've used an S10+ enough to know what I want to know about it. It's the S10 I need to see again. I remember the high ppi of the display was very striking. But all of the displays were excellent. I just need to check out the size and feel of it again.

I think if Samsung is made aware there's some significant black crush going on they will fix it like they did for last year's models. But looks like they have been busy making the fps work better.

Im wondering if the calibration is consistent across all devices as my S10+ does not exhibit any black crush like my s9+ did.

Ok. I’ve decided I’m going to wait until the Apple keynote on the 25th and then decide if I want to switch to the S10+.
[doublepost=1552663681][/doublepost]

There isn't anything that will be out about iOS 13 or the iPhone XI/XIR/XI Max. Curious as to why? Waiting for some promos or something?
