From Phonearena:

In fact, over in Italy, the cheaper iPhone XR retails at €889 ($1010). The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, on the other hand, cost a whopping €1189 ($1351) and €1289 ($1465) in the country with just 64GB of internal storage.

So the regular S10 with 128GB storage and 6 GB RAM costs almost the same as the iPhone XR with 64GB of storage and 3GB RAM and a 720p LCD screen. What?!?! HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA. Complete joke. And for even better perspective....

Galaxy S10 - 128GB Storage - 6GB RAM - 6.11 inch OLED @ 2K = €929
Iphone XR - 128GB Storage - 3GB RAM - 6.1 inch LCD @ 720P = €949

ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!
I have to admit my xs max is looking Horribly over priced in comparison to the 5G S10.

The XS Max is a lovely phone and I miss mine. But they want such a high price in part to offset the Face ID technology that I think is ok, but not an earth shattering breakthrough that revolutionized my life with cell phones. It’s actually a bit of a pain, especially, when I have to double click the power button, which is very stiff on my Xr, and accidentally turn my phone off in the middle of trying to transact a payment.

I totally agree about Face ID. It works well enough but there really wasn’t anything wrong with Touch ID. Face ID is solving w problem which never existed. I think something like what Samsung have is a better set up. A FPS and intelligent scan.

My mind
Maybe, but I still have no plans to get one. I don't buy a new phone every year.
I usually buy the S series phone and the Note each year but I'm thinking of skipping this year. I have the unlocked S9+ and the T-Mobile Note 9 and an XS Max. I have my sim card in the Max and I'm only use the two Samsung phones at home on WiFi for now.

I think it's the year I'll skip buying an Android phone. Last time I did that was with the Note 7 and I'm very happy I did.

I still think the XS Max is the best phone I've used this year. My only real hangups with the phone were the weight and the price. If it were the same price as say the Pixel 3 XL, I would've kept it and dealt with the hangups I have regarding iOS because of how great the phone is. But I couldn't justify paying nearly $1400 for a phone that wasn't significantly better than the cheaper alternatives.

Ah yes...the weight. My Xr is also a hefty little thing. I have been trying my various cases to try and bring the weight down a bit but nothing helps.

I just realized... is this the end of the LED notification light!??

Maybe well get a small chin (or forehead) up top with it!?

I've had apple since 2010 and the one thing I missed was the LED light.

Was considering the s10 to get back into android world (and leave my mac behind for a windows surface laptop 2).

Yes, I love the LED notification light. Yes, I'd rather have it vs. the always on display. Yes, I am weird.

LED notification around the camera hole would be a great idea aswell as an easy ejectable SIM/SD card slot. I wish manufactures cared enough to develop that.

And here's Samsung's new mid-ranger the Galaxy A8s. The camera hole is bigger on this mid-ranger compared to the Galaxy S10, but here's the led around the camera hole in action. Looks slick.

Lol I was watching my husband try to get his S9+ set up to match his 3XL setup as closely as possible and he kept accidentally activating Bixby, mostly by swiping too hard on the home screen. It’s easy enough to do with that darned button, too.

I hope it’s not quite going to be quite as obnoxious on the new phones. Or as laggy. We are both thrilled that after almost a year, neither of our S9 pluses has the dreaded Samsung lag. It gives us both hope for the S10 line.

But Bixby does lag. It’s therefore a bit annoying if you accidentally activate it and want to go back to what you were doing.

I can’t wait to see what it’s like on Pie and with an updated Samsung interface. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a clean crisp update of the experience especially with Bixby.

The little hole punch holes look good to me. I’m not fussy about aesthetics as much anymore, as long as the overall phone has a nice sturdy chassis and quality feel and a pleasant color. I know without a doubt Samsung will deliver in that department. There’s much pleasure in owning a Samsung (since my very first one, the Note 7) for the sheer beauty of the colors alone).

Have the colors been leaked yet? I’ve heard of a yellow for the S10 Lite but I haven’t seen any leaks yet.

I’m currently awaiting the notched horror that is the Pixel 3XL. Truly a face only its mother Google could love. But fortunately it has a general cutenes that appeals to me...when I flip it over and look at the back and sides. :p Google was smart to run another sale before the Samsung event. I can still indulge in this smart phone hobby a couple more years before we have to deal with university costs, but I do now try to catch them on sale.

I do envy those of you who will be preordering. That’s going to be so much fun since it’s a significant redesign and wow...all those camera lenses. I’m interested in how the new Snapdragon does. I hope it’s very efficient.

Thanks. He doesn’t want to turn Bixby off, though. It’s just that after being on a Pixel and an iPhone for a few weeks when he picked up the Samsung again muscle memory for the other phones kicked in and he got Bixby instead of the other things he was trying to do. Then it lagged a bit so it was a delay getting rid of it.

I use Bixby every now and again, it's great for searching on device files, I have 7000+ photos lol, but Bixby home is superfluous imo, as was flipboard/briefing before it, annoys me no end.
It's one of the first things I turn off when setting up a phone.

You think selling the s8 now or waiting for samsund trade in deals is a better option?

I don't know what I wanna do but I got the s3 watch and honestly I think it's just a scammm.... I barely use it and samsung pay is slow on it.

Once the s10 drops the s8 will go below 200 lol....

Another tweet, hope this turns out to be true. That is some serious minimal thickness for that battery size.

What’s to get used to? A minimalistic, less intrusive dot.
The dot may be less intrusive than the notches, but it is more of a distraction than the slim bezels he’s got on the Note 9. Looking at the photos, my eyes can’t help but be drawn to the dots. It’s all I can see at times. In actual use I’m sure I’d forget it’s there in no time.

My thought exactly! I think at first I will be drawn to what is different. But after a while that will fade.
It was the same thing with the notch when I first got the iPhone X and now the Xs Max.....now I don't notice the notch is there.

When I was using my husband's 3XL and didn't notice THAT notch in use I realized I need to stop worrying about these things during the leaks and rumors stage.

Wow they left in the headphone jack! Come to mama! I'm going to have to wait anyway, so I plan to see what they do with the Note and make my purchase decision then. The phones will be months into their product life by then but hopefully a deal or two can be had as well if I go the S10 route. If I decide on the Note, well I guess I have a bit longer to wait. Good thing my S9+ is so danged good! But if all the reviews are great and owners are happy I will be thrilled to get another phone with that endangered port!
