Nice! Happy New Phone Day.

Thanks! Only caveat with the purchase is I had to settle for Prism Black since other colors were out of stock.

I could’ve waited till June for their $200 off promo with trade ins, but I think I would’ve only saved $100 or so and my iPhone would’ve depreciated a bit. Plus being on iOS sucks so much that I wanted to leave haha.

More tinkering throughout the day from me.

Just downloaded lawn chair launcher.
Not sure which I prefer between it and Lean.

They're fairly similar, but lawn chair has a dock whereas lean does away with that and shoves the Google search at the top.

Might give this a go for a while. By a while I mean ten minutes, before I tinker again. :D

@GrumpyMom do you have your S10 Plus yet? Keen to hear your thoughts...
Short answer: I'm afraid not.

TL/DR:

I've not heard a thing about my order, which has a hold placed on it pending receipt and evaluation of my husband's trade in of his S9+. That was sent in on Monday of this past week.

They process only one preorder/order at a time in a queue, when those orders involve a trade in discount.

So if you pre-order/order two phones and the first one that was ordered has a trade in of an older phone, the wait for the second phone can be considerable.

Not to mention my particular model, AT&T 128 GB Flamingo Pink shows currently on their site as being available to ship on April 5th if ordered today. I had gotten a backorder notice from day one of my pre-order.

My husband and I went through this when we pre-ordered Note 9's with trade ins. I cancelled my pre-order and he still waited over a month for his backordered model to be shipped. It turns out Apple released, offered for pre-order and managed to ship out iPhone XS Maxes to us while my husband's Note 9 pre-order languished in limbo well over a month.

I think he had his XS Max for a few days when he decided to cancel his Note 9 pre-order. It was absolutely insane! And inexcusable.

Mind you, for my S10+, I had a reservation for pre-order that supposedly guaranteed me a shipping date on the release date. But you have to read the fine print to see that it's an offer that is conditional on factors like there not being multiple trade ins to the same household involved and that the delivery date promise is valid only while supplies last. And my model slipped in availability almost immediately.

Fortunately I'm a stickler for reading the fine print and terms, so I knew what I was letting myself in for. I actually used this system to my advantage to queue up multiple orders for different models so I wouldn't lose the $550 trade in offer. It took me awhile to really make up my mind I want the S10+ after all.

Okay scratch that. I just took a look at the Galaxy watch active in person and that thing is way too small. I think I will go with the regular watch.

Not for us with small wrists!! But I agree it's small compared to most other smart watches.
I will likely pick a Watch Active up soon.

I traded in my Gear S2 that was sat in a cupboard for the Galaxy Active.
Coming from my Gear Sport (Didn't want to trade that in) it is much smaller and lighter. Loving the version of Tizen on the Active. Didn't take long to adjust to the lack or rotating bezel.

All in all, i'm impressed. Either way for £109 I was going to keep it!

I honestly don’t know which watch will be paired with my S10. I’ll probably opt to go for a FitBit or Galaxy Watch, whatever is more affordable.

I’ll keep my Apple Watch to hold onto if I get an iPhone for a work device.

Yup. I thought maybe it was too small, but everyone commented on how nice it looks. I've really got used to it now.
Thanks. After going back and forth at the store, I went with the regular watch. Just liked the looks of it better not overall it was a tough choice!

If my Gear Sport was updated to the same Tizen as the Galaxy Active, then I would have stayed with that. However now I can chop and choose between the two.

I tried it on earlier in Best Buy, and it was way too small for me, which is unfortunate because I loved everything else about it.
It's big on me but so light I don't notice it when I sleep and I do use it for sleep tracking. I can't sleep in any Apple Watch for some reason. I'm always aware of them being on me. Even the aluminum ones. The Galaxy Watch Active looks chunky and thick but I don't feel it.

I haven't said much about mine because I've got it doing only very basic alerts and very basic fitness tracking. It does not pester me during the day, the way my Apple Watch does. I get a summary report on my Pixel that shows me how I'm doing and I can keep that in mind for how I want to structure my activity the next day. I just like it. I liked my Fitbit Charge 2 HR, too. The Fitbit just wasn't water resistant and I do need a watch to be water resistant. The new generation of Fitbit are water resistant and I would have tried one, but I saw this new GWA design and it was love at first sight. :D

I suppose I can go in and customize my settings on Apple Watch so that it doesn't keep nagging me all day long. I really should look into it. I guess I just felt I should run it at default with maximum nagging to keep me in shape, but I think that's just a mistake for my personality type. The Apple watch reminds me to breathe or stand at awkward times and I become actually determined to do the opposite and tell it to bleep off out loud. I did not have oppositional defiant disorder as a child growing up, but apparently my Apple Watch fostered that into me as an adult.

If the Watch Active had a 42mm option I would have gone with it. On the flip side, I wish my new Galaxy Watch has the 42mm option in stainless steel silver. I think I'll still like my 46mm one though. Just have to get used to its size. I'm not big into tracking my sleep. It just rubs it in that I have insomnia..lol. But based on what I read about battery life, I may just try sleeping with it.

Woot! My Gear S3 Classic just got here along with a metal band I ordered. It looks awesome, though a tad big.

What’s really cool is that out the box there was an update to Tizen 4.0, which is what is on the new watches. Awesome that they’re still supporting this watch, I remember the support was abysmal with my Gear S2.

Now, should I keep my Apple Watch on my LTE plan or switch it over to this one?

I've kept the screen protector on my Plus.
I was going to rip it straight off but thought I'd keep it on and see how the fingerprint scanner treats me. It isn't as reliable as it was on my S10, but that did take a day or so to bed in and I can tell it's already getting better.

If I can maintain a fairly high success rate with the protector on then I'll keep it on until it gets tatty.

The one hand operation app has been amazing for bringing swipe from the left as 'back' to Android.

Feels like the last missing piece of iOS has finally been added to an Android phone and I'm loving it.
