How could people ask if a notch is better than a hole ? This S10+ looks very nice

If the notch provides a more secure & seamless biometric authentication system, then people may prefer it. It’s not always about aesthetics.

More secure? More seamless? Says who? As I recall, when the iris scanner was introduced on Galaxy phones, one of the biggest complaints from the peanut gallery was how lifting the phone was such an inconvenience. But now, since faceid is the only option available, the faithful have no choice but to support it as the most seamless method. Nothing beats a ultrasonic fingerprint in the display for convenience and security.

I am so with you.....I wish Samsung would go back to flat displays......But at this point and time they are too far down the curved display path to go back.
I enjoy the flat display on my Xs max and Pixel 3 XL.....but having said all that.....I'm not sure I could NOT get the S10 Plus lol

here's a look at the supposed S10e... this is supposed to be a flat screened version, right? If so, not a bad option to those who don't like the curved screens.

For specs, Galaxy S10e is reported to feature a 5.8″ display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, dual rear cameras, single front camera in Infinity-O configuration, 3,100mAh battery, and power button that doubles as the fingerprint reader.

Iris Scanner also doesn't work as well as FaceID for me.

Near flawless for me, but my point was, the diehards were ranting on the fact that the user had to raise the phone to their face. And how inconvenient it was compared to just placing your finger on the front of the phone. All of which applies to face id.

Do you wear glasses?

Iris scanner worked for me and my husband but eventually caused us both nasty eye pain. It's a shame as the tech worked as expected.

That 10e looks nice. That's the one I have my eye on.

My husband is currently testing out Pie/Samsung One UI on his S9+ And it seems snappy so far. That's encouraging if we want to upgrade.

However AT&T pushed it to his S9+ but not mine. We put the Sim back in mine and rebooted it but still no Pie for me.

Edit: Bixby is asking to be obliterated. My husband asked Bixby on his S9+ to show him a picture of a wombat and it showed him one of his selfies.:D

Correct, but based off how good the optical scanners are, and considering S10 is to get the 3rd generation ultrasonic fp reader, it can only be better.

Yup. But, to be clear, I'm not doubting your experience.

Thanks. Guess I'm too used to "you're lying X fanboy" type responses on here.

Preferring that more uniform framed look. Though that lower edge could’ve been thinner, couldn’t it Samsung!? :D

Also, the dot moves to the right again lol. It’s like a game of Pong with these renders...one day it’s hit to the left, the next, smacked to the right.

The in-screen fingerprint scanner may make up for it. Reviews comparing it to Face ID are what I’m interested in.

That's something I'm looking forward to when I buy a phone I don't need later this month or early next or whatever.

Face ID works in every lightning condition including pitch black. Im not sure if Samsung has this also, but the auto password fill with Face ID is very convenient. Its integrated into apps much better.

The other thing with Samsung’s particular in-screen scanner is how it’ll react with screen protectors. Will it be more fussy or a non-issue.

Not sure how Huawei’s in-screen scanners behave with a screen protector, but that’s a different type of tech iirc.

I wouldn't gamble with my delicate eyes. We just don't know what damage its causing in the long run. You can use other alternatives

According to ice universe, the S10+ will be 7.8mm thick, which is thinner than the S9+ at 8.5mm. The more impressive thing will be, it will have a much larger battery.

S9+ at 8.5mm with 3500mAh battery
S10+ at 7.8mm with 4100mAh battery.

Impressive indeed. Can't wait till Samsung brings their new graphene batteries to the masses. Maybe on the Note10. Wishful thinking.

Well if I'm not mistaken the S10+ will be rather longer and wider, so I suppose they did the same to the battery. It looked like the S10 is more close to the S9+ in size than the S9. The new S10 e would be closer to the current S9. Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I'm recalling the leaked info I read last night.

I personally have the most interest currently in the S10e/lite because of the small size and flat display and least expense. But I do not want to miss out on the better lens combo on the larger phones nor possibly get stuck with an inferior way to unlock the phone. I've read conflicting leaks about how it is to be unlocked.

I am eagerly awaiting the Unpacked event for all the details to be confirmed.
