What are these conflictions you speak of?
I saw one leak that insisted the S10 e would have the fps on the power button. Another said that in fact it would have an in display sensor but it would not be the ultrasonic one in the larger phones. Either way, I am not sure how well these options work.

And the colors have been confirmed as well. Hopefully they're all available at launch in all markets.

I like the Pearl white, too. But they're all going to look nice.

Because I own the yellow Xr I'm curious about the canary yellow color on the S10 Lite. However, I find myself drawn time and time again to white phones and love my white Pixels.

Pearlescent white looks so elegant. I really miss the pearlescent sheen of my XS Max. I'd love to have that finish again. Even though I do use cases, I take them off to do cleaning and maintenance and admire the phone's looks .

And now that I am going to keep my smaller Pixel 2 instead of trading it in, I will have a smaller phone around when I need it and so I'll shift my attention to one of the larger Samsungs. Probably the next size up to directly replace my 9+ . But I don't really know. I'm looking to replace my iPad mini so I may just wait for the Note or the super duper extra large S 10.

Oh I forgot to ask what size storage everyone is looking at. When I pre-ordered the Note 9 last year I went for the largest, I think that was 512 GB. I am finding as a 128GB Pixel owner and even on my 256 GB iPhone that 128 GeeBeez will probably suit me just fine. Unless they offer and I start shooting video in 8K.

Oops I see they've tied RAM to the storage size options. Well, I really don't know if I need 8gigs of that, either. Maybe for gaming. I do hope my VR goggles will still work with one of the new models.

Any place but here or there....
As little storage as possible for me. I forget how RAM works on Android.

I am not a photographer and rarely use the camera on my iPhones (really just important documents and an occasional building or food, but I liked having movies and music on my phones.

I am guessing google photos will be my way of downloading my movies onto the phone? I don’t know.

I’ll be waiting awhile for sales etc. and to see actually how big these are (as well as hope Verizon gets OnePlus models in too this year.)

@Tsepz has a thread where he posted two videos that explains how Android uses RAM and how much we ideally need. It's very helpful.

I used to over buy thinking I need to future proof. What I was actually doing was ignoring my tendency to upgrade annually. I have been overbuying on specs I don't really make use of.

In a way these stratospheric prices have been a good wake up call to get me to wise up and stop being such a silly cow. Oh I am still a silly cow for upgrading when I don't really need to. I'm just maybe a few percentage points less silly and bovine than usual. ;)

Edited to add I have to give credit to the Google Pixel's frugal specs for helping wean me from being dazzled by specs. Once they fixed RAM management I have had absolutely no problems running my apps and I am certainly not running out of room on 128 GB of storage.

Thanks for that heads up on the RAM thread.

Since I use my phone for simple things, the fewer bells and whistles I have to pay for, the better. I intend to avoid paying $1k for a phone again as that was a waste for me. I’d rather put that money into other tech that is more important to me.

I know what I want in a phone, I hope to see it this year.

S10 colors > hard choice between the green and pearl white (If the States gets either color).

Appreciate your comments on usage too.

The Verge is reporting that S10 will be WiFi 6 capable. Read the article to see if this capability would be of interest for you. I don't think we are replacing our router anytime soon, so this isn't a factor in wanting to buy an S10.

Ah, interesting. Not replacing my router until I replace my iMac, but thanks for the heads up. :)

As far as colors, I thought read that Pantone’s 2019 color of the year is an Emerald green. And I think last year’s was purple, if so, that is a smart move by Samsung to capitalize on the color of the year.:)

Blue and Black are very safe colours. Bought green, white and other colours before but got bored of it within months. Everyone to their own i guess :)
I’ve had two purple Samsungs in a row and haven’t gotten tired of that color at all. My yellow Xr is still good, too, as long as it’s in a clear case. However, I’ve discovered a limited tolerance for its matching yellow silicone case, despite its excellent quality like Apple would have made.

The only phone color I’ve ever gotten tired of was Space grey.

I am bored with Space Gray too. Much prefer black or a color.

My sunflower yellow leather Apple case was beautiful, but got trashed pretty quick (color wore off). Now I either match the phone color or go with clear.

If you want to get a feel for the size of the upcoming S10 and S10 +, MKBHD got a hold of the dummy units case manufacturers use to make sure the cases are on spec.

Saw this video yesterday....hopefully the price points he mentioned are not accurate.
If the S10 Plus is higher than 999 I'm probably not going to get this phone.
I am loving my Pixel 3 XL and iPhone Xs Max combo right now. Same goes for the new iPhones in Sept....Apple better have a great reason for me to upgrade....

I agree. However, it seems like something Samsung would do since Apple did.... but we'll see. I've seen rumors of prices lower than that too

No intention of getting a Samsung myself but completely agree in regards to phone pricing across all the flagships. They've just gotten to a level where I can't switch very often.

And I’m not necessarily begrudging higher prices in some of these phones. Yes, I think they’ve gone up quite significantly over the past 2 years. But I use my phone more than any other piece of tech..by a long shot. It truly is my primary ‘computer.’ It’s also my primary camera and source of just about all of my daily communication. I see comments so often questioning why would anyone spend more on their phone than other tech (often tech that's physically larger than a smartphone)? Yet I'd wager most people are in the same situation as me. In the grand scheme of things, the cost per minute of smartphone usage is probably a lot less than just about anything else in our lives. I'd have to spend a lot more to replace all of the functionality of my smartphone with other devices.

None of us need to upgrade our phones yearly or even every two years. We just like to and these higher prices makes frequent phone switching more cost prohibitive. I'd have the same issue if I wanted to upgrade my laptop, TV, or tablet every year. I just need to be more selective and learn to live with a phone for a couple years at a time.

I love the Pixel 3XL and I do prefer the lack of cruft as Mr. Mobile calls it. But I think today my husband and I had a call that exhibited the phone sound cut out problem some Pixel owners have reported. So I might give Samsung another go around and keep the 3XL on secondary duty until Google gets their poop together.

I'd just hand over honors to my S9+ but if the reviews are great on the S10 I will put in for one last upgrade for the cameras. But yeah, if it's over $1000, jeez, yeah I better hold onto it a couple of years. And if Samsung screws up and there's a lot of problems, congrats S9+ you get to be the main phone and stick around another year.

I know it's coming, but I dread the day Samsung removes the headphone jack. Nooooooo!

5G compatibility can kiss my butt. I'm not worrying about that for another year or two.

I'm really looking forward to the S10+ My S9+ has been the best phone iver ever owned, not a single issue with it since launch and still runs as smooth as day 1. I also abuse the hell out of the screen (10min timeout) and not a trace of burn-in. Call quality is amazing and the LTE/4G reception is also top notch. It really is a great overall package and a very underrated phone!

I'm not a huge fan of the double cutout for the front facing camera on the S10+ ( i prefer to have all screen and no selfie cam at all or a small bezel) but i will see how it goes, most people with notched phones seem to think you don't notice it's even there after a while.

I prefer the dot to the oval cutout, too . But I think both will be easy to overlook in use. I honestly never notice the horrible notch on my 3XL when I'm using it. I do look at it on purpose to see the little face the camera lenses make with the mouth. That's actually kind of cute. I don't know why I don't notice it. I do notice the notch on my Xr. It feels like I'm peeking out from under an overhang. But it doesn't bother me. In time, these distractions will all be gone. Google may have a cool surprise for Pixel fans at the end of the year.

Surprised MKBHD would make such assumptions about the prices and camera options and not say why he thinks otherwise. All the leaks up to now have said S10 and S10+ will have the same camera set up as the S10+.

In my view s9+ is the most beautiful phone i ever had. I like using it without any cases or screen covers. Hard to get rid off.

Here in Australia, as long as you sign in 2 years contract you can purchase any phone you like. We are expecting s10+ to be on $130-$140 bracket plan.
