Welp..I gotta give Samsung some credit. I called and escalated the issue of my premium care being cancelled. I kept pushing and pushing and I'm finally getting a call back from someone 3 levels up. The supervisor I spoke with did decide to offer me one free repair on this device just for my troubles. So as much as I've complained about Samsung, I am pleased that they are at least did that.
Wow that's great. I wish my husband would have let me sign up for premium care. I have some neurological problems I didn't have even a few months ago and I drop my phones a lot now. The only phone I have any kind of plan on is the iPhone 8 plus that I'm not using anymore.

There is some kind of indent on my plastic display protector and I want so badly to peel it off and see if it is damage to the display since it was rolling around in the box for goodness knows how long I didn't notice it at first but see it now. Though my cat did walk on the phone and maybe her toenail put it there (She's a huge fan of checking out new phones)

But my husband won't let me take the display protector off. He's saying I will never be able to get a new one on as well as this on his applied and if it's got a dent on it I can't do anything about it anyway as I can't really return it now. The $550 trade in deals are gone. I'd only return it if it's really messed up. I can't really see the dent unless I look for it.

Anyway, I just took photos in a dark room and goodness...did Samsung already install the Google Night mode:eek:? I got really nice photos of a room I could barely see to walk in. Wow. I didn't even install then Google camera yet. Oh, the cats are awake gotta go test the camera on them.

I have QHD on all the time apart from if I switched into medium power mode

Most of the day AOD settings was on tap to show.

Might see the difference with it on all the time
I have just enabled battery optimise for all apps as I was having an issue with Spotify.

The phone then disabled it for all apps and resolved my Spotify issue but what I have noticed is that my battery is draining even slower.

That seems odd. Spotify was running in the background for me so put it to sleep when not in use

I got a Galaxy S10+ yesterday, I previously had a iPhone XS. First impressions are that this is a fabulous phone and I wont be returning to the iPhone for some time. Couple of niggles that will disappear when I have got more used to it. I found the iPhone face recognition more elegant than the fingerprint sensor and find that 1 Password (because of that feature) seems to work better on the iPhone. Up to now though, I'm loving this phone and glad to be back.

Yes and how heavy it would be :D

Give Samsung some credit for how efficient the S10's are for cramming it all in and still manage a headphone jack in a smaller volume
The funny thing is, every iPhone keeps getting thicker. I don't think Apple is trying to make the thinnest & lightest phone possible. :)

How long do you think Samsung will keep the headphone jack? I think it will go bye bye when the S11 comes out next year.

I should seek some real psychological help; returned my S10 last week to Samsung Netherlands.

Today I found a very nice deal on a sealed S10 Plus for €700.
Gonna try it one more last time; Android/One UI.

Will be delivered tomorrow...for now my next step will be seeking for a good shrink :p

Why did you return the S10?

I love the Pink Punk so far. I dread the thought of finding something that would require me to return it. My husband nagged wisely: it IS a nice size after all and the battery life looks promising. He is pretty smart and level headed, which is why I listen to him most of the time, even though I grumble about it. :p

Nice! I went back to my iPhone XR for 4 hours and that's all it took for me to run back to my S10+

Agreed about 1Password, though it is dramatically better now with the introduction of autofill across the OS in Pie (I think it was in Pie ) vs having to use their keyboard solution. It still appears to be on devs to implement is in there apps as I do have a few where autofill with 1Password won't pop up (looking at you Samsung browser :().

That's the problem with Apple so many mixed messages re thinnest or not so thin, USB C or not, LCD or OLED, wireless charging etc etc

The only constant thing is the inconsistency even to the new Ipad line up

Sammy makes more phones than just the Galaxy S10 range I'm sure the jack will be around for many for sometime yet

Everybody keeps thinking that but it still remains. I hope they keep it as i like the option to use wired headphones in certain situations. Also it doesnt require you to buy theirs or any other wireless buds like Apple does. My S9 still came with wired earbuds. Dont know if the S10 did.

I dont care what Apple does. The fact that they dont include basics like the fast charger is ridiculous. I just wont buy anything of theirs anymore.

One thing about this year's version of the Smartview cover vs last year, I do NOT think it would help my S10+ survive unscathed in a drop of about 3 feet to hard asphalt like last year's version did for my S9+ a month ago.

The plastic around the edges is thinner and doesn't come up high enough around the edges. The cover no longer is a trifold that allows you to use the case as a stand (not that I ever really got that to work). As a result the back is much thinner and far less protective of the camera bump. What a shame. Quite a step backwards. I did see a review on Amazon that conjectured that the changes were made to accommodate reverse charging.

However, it is gorgeous with the coral color of my phone that shows at the edges and around the cameras.

I really like my Xr. However, because the battery isn't holding up well at all and because today it overheated painfully hot while running a news app, I am going to trade it in for whatever upgrade they offer for the Xr. And I hope they will still offer coral because it would be fun to match my phones. I am not overly fond of Apple right now, but aside from the issues mention, I think the Xr is a solid second phone for me. It's very vanilla, but it's nice for me to have Apple maps where I live.

Funny the s10's LED case gave more edge protection over the S9's but the LED it's self is a little different ie bigger plus some other icons but the Note10 version was multi colour

Has anyone tried the LED Wallet Case?
My husband has that one. He didn't like it but he didn't really say why. He's using a Ringke Onyx now

@GrumpyMom - your next phone may indeed be a OnePlus! Rumor has it they are implementing a DC current option to eliminate PWM flicker. This, no notch, pop up camera...the OP7 could be one hell of a phone.

Wow. Looks promising! It is nice to see somebody is addressing an issue that is debilitating for people that some others dismiss as an insignificant number of people.

They can definitely have my business kf things don't work out with Apple and Samsung and Google going forward. Though I think so far I am getting along with my s10+ display. I'll need at least a week with it to be certain.

I just tried to enroll my unlocked S10e in Premium Care. Got the shaft since I got it from Best Buy. Tried online support and telephone support. You can only enroll if you buy from Samsung.com. That policy is totally ridiculous. I guess Google is the same way, equally ridiculous. Who cares where the phone is bought as long as it's in mint working condition when you enroll within the first month of ownership and it passes a hardware check like Apple does with AC+ enrollment.

Edit- I could've sworn I saw an "enroll" option within the Samsung app on the S10+ I bought from Verizon and ended up returning.

Returned my S10+ today.

I have a P30 Pro on preorder which should be here Friday although I am back on my XR and I do still really enjoy this device. Having my Apple Watch back on is also a great experience.

I do give myself a headache.

I liked the S10 a lot. But I think I would have gone back to the iPhone before long with it. Just trying to decide if I want to keep the P30 preorder or not now.
