I just tried to enroll my unlocked S10e in Premium Care. Got the shaft since I got it from Best Buy. Tried online support and telephone support. You can only enroll if you buy from Samsung.com. That policy is totally ridiculous. I guess Google is the same way, equally ridiculous. Who cares where the phone is bought as long as it's in mint working condition when you enroll within the first month of ownership and it passes a hardware check like Apple does with AC+ enrollment.

Edit- I could've sworn I saw an "enroll" option within the Samsung app on the S10+ I bought from Verizon and ended up returning.
Yeah, that stinks. And yes Google is the same way. I would have liked to have had more time to discuss the subject with my husband. But he almost always dismisses extended warranties out of hand. I made him get one for our two trucks because we do drive our automobiles until they are barely road worthy.

Did anyone else disable Facebook but find it enabled itself again? I'm pretty sure I disabled it when I set the phone up but there it was among my apps, enabled. I force stopped it and it pitched a fit saying my phone could bit-slap me and all the usual warnings. Then I went to disable it and it said it would install a factory version. I said fine, go ahead and I'll disable that, too, you electronic Satan.

I don't hate the concept of FB or social media. I just hated what FB morphed into and how intrusive it is and I hate how Zuckerberg acts so entitled to everything about other people.

Anyway I hope I haven't messed my phone up.

Returned my S10+ today.

I have a P30 Pro on preorder which should be here Friday although I am back on my XR and I do still really enjoy this device. Having my Apple Watch back on is also a great experience.

I do give myself a headache.

I liked the S10 a lot. But I think I would have gone back to the iPhone before long with it. Just trying to decide if I want to keep the P30 preorder or not now.
I think you just gave me whiplash! :D

I didn't get Google's premium care for my Pixel 3XL and it's been fine, but I want to use the S10e without a case. Oh well. I like AC+ because there are two Apple stores within 3 miles of my apartment and it's so easy. And support is the best which we all know.

I disabled Facebook and it has stayed disabled for me so far. It reverted to the stock factory app and removed any updates as I was disabling it, and it's stayed disabled since. I did this after doing a factory reset and re-installing all of my apps.

I'm the same way with cars I never get extended warranties, but decided to do it 2 years ago when I bought my car. I bought a 4 year wheel and tire warranty because here in Chicago the roads are full of giant pot holes. My alignment was way off at my last tune up probably from all of this.

I got the wheel and tire warranties for the same reason. We always have road work done but the roads don't hold up at all.

Okay thanks for letting me know about FB. I must not have disabled it like I thought I did. K was rushing through a lot last night.

Yup...I'd like to see other OEMs follow Apple's lead here. I bought my Pixel 3 XL directly from Google but they won't let you add it anytime after the order is processed. Apple gives you 60 days and they even improved that process by allowing you to add it to your iPhone directly from the About screen under Settings > General in iOS 12.2, where previously you had to at least bring it into an Apple Store.

Wow Samsung sent me a coupon for 30% off accessories under $69.99, so I got their flamingo pink silicone case. I used some points I earned with the purchase of my watch to get the case for $3.57

It's a shame the cases don't get great ratings but it will be a fun case to use around the house. Right now my phone is in a $4 case from Amazon that I got for that price via Slickdeals. It is a clear case that is actually more protective than the $55 Samsung clearview cover. Go figure. But it doesn't have a cover, so I will have to be careful.

Today my Xr flew out of a pocket in my purse and sailed across the room in its thin Caudabe case. Fortunately landing on a carpeted floor.

But jeez, now I've dropped all of my phones. I hadn't dropped phones since I dropped my iPhone 6 plus at a gas station. I wish thick tempered glass screen protectors would work on the S10+.

In other news, I really like the in-display fingerprint sensor so far. I get about the same or slightly better success rate with it that I get for Face ID and it works about as fast. I was worried I was going to regret not getting the s10e with its side button sensor but so far, knock wood, this one has worked well. It is much better than the fps in my older Samsungs and iPhones. It got such bad press I was worried even though my husband had no complaints, especially after all the updates.

I’m feeling the same at the moment.

I still have my Xs Max and using it on Wifi at home.

What I like about iOS and the Xs Max:

- Feels so fast and fluid switching between apps and screens compared to the S10+

- great for filling in stored websites and password integration

- Web pages are just formatted better - text just looks better

- FaceID is just fast, accurate and works in the dark

What I don’t like:

- it’s damn heavy compared to the S10+ Ceramic

- I don’t like the natural toned down screen, prefer the screen to pop

- the fact I can’t have a number row on the keyboard

- the square apps and folder background

- also feels very boring and safe

I hate this feeling, it’s bit possible to have two phones, it annoys me trying to carry two plus sized phones.

Decisions, decisions.

Why do you miss your iPhone?

Few things.
Face ID. Absolutely unrivalled for me. The FPS improved greatly on the S10 over time but still misfired.
Face ID is so good.

Watch. The Galaxy Watch Active is not as good. It’s a great Android wearable, but it can’t match the Apple Watch for me.

Familiarity. Double edged sword this one as it’s a pro but it’s also a con. Pro as compared to the S10, it’s so nice to just pick the phone up and have it be familiar in its simplicity. But it’s a con because it can’t move out of that familiarity. The S10, however probably goes too far the other way. With SO much to do on it.

The XR. I just love this phone. It’s probably my favourite iPhone design ever. I love that it’s bright yellow lol. I was in Asda earlier and two people walked past me and were like “he’s got the yellow one that’s the one I want!” It just made me chuckle and I like how vivid and recognisable the XR is. It’s the ‘fun’ apple of old.

Compatibility with my car. My iPhone displays album artwork via Bluetooth. I can also use steering wheel controls with iPhone. With Android I get no artwork or controls. It physically isn’t possible. Not Androids fault, more BMW, but it’s a night and day experience using my iPhone in my car than my S10. Or any other Android.

I don’t use iMessage a great deal. But when I do, I like it a lot. It’s so easy to send files to people and interact with. Was texting my manager earlier who is on an iPhone and having iMessage back was just really nice.

The main thing is the Watch. That combo can not be beat and is just sublime to use.

I have the yellow, too. It’s a fun color. I’m okay with Face ID but prefer fingerprint scanners.

I’m starting to use Samsung password thingamgig and it’s working pretty well but I don’t know offhand how secure it is.

I’m glad I’m able to keep two lines and two phones. I don’t know what I’d do if I had to pare it down to just one again. I keep switching off through the day. I’m not currently using my Pixel 3XL though because it’s charging and I want to really test the S10+ the next few days.

I did just check and see it’s only on the February security patch. I need to see if the fact I popped the old sim out of my Pixel is keeping the new phone from the latest security patch. It did get one big update soon after I turned it on so I thought that would have included the March security patch.

It’s not. The March and April patches have not hit the U.S. yet it seems. Supposedly Verizon was rolling out March, but that’s not 100% yet, and no other carriers have sent it out.

In other news, I just processed an exchange of my S10 for the +. Hopefully it arrives on Friday, but Monday is more likely.

I just had to 'quickly pull off the bandage,' so to speak, to avoid any urge to switch back. My iPP was sold off last week and XS Max cleaned, packed, and ready to ship once it's sold. I also miraculously found buyers for all three HomePods. I still have an iPhone 7 that's solely being used to sync content to my Apple Watch.

There are certainly things I miss but I'm just looking forward and moving on from Apple.

Same here! Other than my 4 hours of weakness the other day I am ready to move on. The only thing I'm keeping is my Apple TV because I have over 200 purchased iTunes movies from the last 10 years.

Oh, I'm still 'strolling through Apple's walled garden', just not locked in. ;)

My desktop is still an iMac, I have the aforementioned Apple Watch and linked iPhone 7 (AW is still the most complete smartwatch option--not even close, IMO) and a couple Apple TVs (my family cannot use only Chromecast--they must have a remote control, I'm working on fully extracting us from Amazon and I just don't like Roku).

I don't like Apple's recent laptop offerings but I'm still a pretty staunch Mac OS guy so that iMac isn't going anywhere. I tried Windows a couple of times the past two years and I just can't use it. I've replaced my iPP with a Pixelbook and I'm enjoying the experience.

Do you notice a big real-world difference between the screen quality when switching from an S10+ to an XR? Also somewhat off topic, but what made you choose the XR over the XS/Max?

I know you’re asking @Aneres11 but he and I have had the same phones. You can see more details in photographs on the S10+ display especially at its highest resolution. And text looks smoother. Videos look more vivid and detailed, though I have to say I do enjoy movies and videos on my Xr, too. It’s not as bad as people try to make it out to be.

If either phone were my only phone I’d be happy and count myself lucky. As it is I am super grateful to be able to have both, plus my Pixel 3XL.

Yeah, GrumpyMom hit it on the head basically.
When you use the S10 and then go back to the XR, it makes the XR look trash haha.

But in its own right, the XR screen is perfectly pleasant. For an LCD it’s very good.

Price was the big factor between XS and XR. The XR was so much more affordable and again, the design kinda suited me better. I like the colours, I like the size. It’s between the smaller XS (too small) and the Max (not ‘too big’) but the XR was the perfect in between.

I did own the Max for a brief time before I decided to sell it and pick up an Apple Watch with the difference i pocketed, and I will say that for me, the Max is still the best phone you can buy. And that includes all Android devices. It’s just a gorgeous phone with a great camera, fantastic screen, amazing case and accessory options and that stellar Apple support when needed.

What would be an absolute perfect world scenario for me is if I could have the same number on two devices, everything fully synced across both devices and simply just pick up which device I fancied using that day without having to worry about cross-syncing my message etc.

Yep. Could not agree more.

I’ve been asking for this, since the days of me swapping ESN numbers. LOL

Over the past few months, I’ve done better at just using one mobile, iOS. But, sometimes, just sometimes, well, you get my point...
