again....thats your opinion...it won't make a difference in how YOU use your phone....you can't speak to how I use my phone. You don't speak for everyone. Read all the posts about how it will make a difference to a lot of people.[doublepost=1554550964][/doublepost]
I'm talking about mobile phone speed while not tethered to your wi-fi. You're not going to do anything that you can't do with 20-40mbps which is already lightning fast on a phone. Until phones actually have functions that necessitate 5 g speed, I don't see this having much of an impact on day to day usage. At this point, 5g is over-hyped. Call me in a few years.
Gigabit internet for the win. There isn’t a single carrier that can manage to get more than two bars in my building. Unless 5G has some ability to penetrate older buildings, I’ll pass.again....thats your opinion...it won't make a difference in how YOU use your phone....you can't speak to how I use my phone. Then 5G isn't just for mobile....it is also for home internet
I think I read Verizon will offer home 5G for around $70 will speeds upto gigabitGigabit internet for the win. There isn’t a single carrier that can manage to get more than two bars in my building. Unless 5G has some ability to penetrate older buildings, I’ll pass.
Someone asked earlier about pricing. From what I have read so far:
Verizon: $10.00 premium / month
T-Mobile: No price increase.
Have not seen anything on AT&T or Sprint.

Same here. I actually switched to where each finger is registered now and it almost seems like it's been learning my prints better. I have probably a 95% success rate if not better.Fingerprint scanner seems flawless now.. Works pretty much every time
I use my phone on the train for my 2 hour commute each way. Some people don’t have good wifi at home or might want to cut their broadband bill and just use their phone. Maybe people are on vacation or a business trip and need access to fast cellular data.DUHHHHH, but we're talking about cell phones here. Tell me what 500 mbps will do for you while you're walking down the street that 50 mbps cannot? Not much. This is not an opinion, this is fact.
Come back at a later date and tell me how your life has improved with a 5g cell phone. Maybe in 5 years I'll be impressed.
The 500 MB’s will be useless without an unlimited data plan. If someone has a use case for that speed walking down the street, the enabler is the unlimited plan.DUHHHHH, but we're talking about cell phones here. Likewise I use20GB at most but most months I don't even use thatI have 100GB on my current plan but I’ve never used it all.
You spend 4 hours a day commuting? Ouch..I use my phone on the train for my 2 hour commute each way. Some people don’t have good wifi at home or might want to cut their broadband bill and just use their phone. Maybe people are on vacation or a business trip and need access to fast cellular data.
no....YOU were talking about cell phones......I said I couldn't wait for 5G I didn't specify...you went on to speak for me and said it wouldn't make a difference. In this thread me and others have given you examples of how it will make a difference for us. Then no one is pushing you to get 5G....but the rest of us are excited for it....DUHHHHH, but we're talking about cell phones here. I doubt it will make much of a difference in your life.
Honestly the only places you'll see a difference over 4g will be video streaming and multiplayer gaming. The basic app that goes out to a server isn't being bottlenecked by lte speeds.everything! Every app that goes to the internet will be lightning fast.

That is the future...they will offer it for home use as well. You will ge a 5G device that will provide internet for the whole home.
I wish they had a kind of "intelligent" icon resize option where the shape would be filled out with the predominant color of the original icon. Those white backgrounds don't really do it for me honestly.
The closest thing I found is an icon theme pack on the Samsung store but of course you need to use the default launcher.I'll go one better, it would perfect if they offered an option where we could actually choose the color of the icon frame. Nova Launcher also doesn't let you choose a custom color. Although, Nova lets you chose a default shape.
Which pack are you using? The closest thing I found is an icon theme pack on the Samsung store but of course you need to use the default launcher.
All of my icons are now perfect circles with mostly green background color.
It is a whole theme pack for the entire phone called Alpaca by Gomu. I thought I could apply just the icons out of the pack because I used to be able to do that with past theme packs, meaning I used to mix and match components from different theme packs. But it looks like I can't anymore. Weird.Which pack are you using?
I disagree....when apps open slower while they connect to the app servers it is about internet speed. Are you really saying I won't see a difference in watching Netflix on my phone connecting at 40MB and 500MBs? Or uploading 30 pics to Facebook?Honestly the only places you'll see a difference over 4g will be video streaming and multiplayer gaming. The basic app that goes out to a server isn't being bottlenecked by lte speeds.
If the screen is off when you’re in bed, what does adjusting the brightness do?OK bixby might be awful but bixby routines are awesome
I've set my phone to dim brightness and resolution wise to go to HD when it gets under 25%
When the time is 23.00 that's bedtime so brightness goes to 0%
When time hits 07.00 the brightness reaches 50%
Just the little things as part of my daily usage which works great
