I just called my dad from the S10+ and the call went well but it did sound completely dead on his end when I was talking. Usually when I am talking to him I can hear a bit of background noise when I am talking so I know he's there. I have wifi calling on and I often don't on my other phones so I suppose it's that.

But the really weird thing going on was I kept hearing my display making noise.

When I finished the call I looked and saw that my ear had been trying to use Google Assistant. What the hell? I've never had the phone screen remain interactive while on a call before. Am I missing a setting I need to attend to?

For some reason, I somehow deleted the tiny menu under the notification panel that shows Bluetooth connected devices. Does anyone know how to get that back?
I'm not sure what you're missing. On my phone connected devices show up above my notifications panel. There are little symbols next to them indicating I can do something but I'm afraid to touch them and make my menu disappear, too.

Solved! I uninstalled Smart Things app and that's why it went away. If came back automatically when I installed it again.

Whatever "innovation priority" mail Samsung uses with UPS is garbage. I ordered a Galaxy Active with my ecertificate from my S10 purchase, it shipped on Saturday, and isn't getting here until Monday. The location it's shipping from is 4 hours from my house.

How does that work?

There is a known issue with the proximity sensor that hasn't been fixed yet as far as I can tell. It's turning on and staying on in people pockets, situations like yours, etc.

Finally got LDAC Bluetooth audio codec set to best audio quality / 990kbps working! I stumbled upon this in a random Reddit thread. Need to toggle off location. No stutter at all! Hopefully this bug will be squished soon.

Also Neutron audio player is the best app I've ever used for playing locally stored music. Plays FLAC and ALAC and every other format you can think of. Forgot I bought it a few years ago and have been back on it for 3 days since Google Music has been stopping randomly when playing music.

Anyone else notice the outline of the finger print reader against a white background in direct sunlight on your S10's?

If a couple of people could check please, that would be fab. It appears that some people have reported this online and Samsung has said to reduce the screen brightness to solve the problem. However, that isn't really a solution and I'm wondering whether it could be an early batch issue as it doesn't seem common on here or another forum I use and we've had some decent sunny days recently.

I've never witnessed this personally but I've heard about it. Guessing it's something that can't really be fixed but from what I've read it's more of an annoyance than something that really hinders the experience.

Oh okay I had heard about that but didn’t know it happens during phone calls. Ugh. Is it all phones or just an afflicted few? Does anyone know?

Oh trust me it’s more than an annoyance. Hearing my ear typing as I was talking. Awful. Weird. But I’ve talked on this phone before and that’s the first instance of it.

Okay so the odd quality to my call to my dad yesterday was due to wifi calling. I turned that off and today's call allowed me to hear him while I was talking. I think I did recall that wifi calling lacks duplexing...is that the right term? Gosh I used to work in the telco industry and even worked extra shifts in the network monitoring system and can't remember the basics. Oh well that was half a lifetime ago. Anyway my dad says I still sound great to him calling from the S10+. This time my ear did not go web surfing during the call. :p

Fingerprint scanner is working but annoyingly slow. I unfortunately am stuck using it as allowing my watch as a trusted device meant the phone kept unlocking and turning on in my pocket when I was trying to listen to music. Get it together, Samsung. Huawei is breathing down your neck. Fix this poop .

I removed the screen protector and re-added my thumb - finger print sensor is now lighting fast and doesn't require much pressure.

Did you toggle on the setting accidental touch protection for dark places, pockets and bag ?

I couldn't be happier with the Fingerprint Scanner. For me, it's been fast and reliable. Even at weird angles where I didn't think it would work, it's been fantastic.

2 other good but unpopular opinions about this device now 3 weeks into it:

- For the 1st time, I actually like the Samsung Stock Keyboard...a lot! The predictions are fantastic and I actually go without the swipe feature and use the glide for moving the cursor.

- I actually.....like....Bixby, but I like Bixby for what it is. I still use Google Assistant for most things that I need quick information on, but Bixby is a really good "device assistant" in that if I need to set an alarm, or a reminder, Bixby works really well. The only thing I struggle with (and it was the same on the Pixel) is using a voice assistant to play certain playlists on Spotify. That's still a struggle, but I also do have a widget for that.

Yeah I checked and it is set as "on". My husband tested and put his hand over the proximity sensor when making a call and it seems to work. Weird. Anyway an update was supposed to have come in today and maybe it contains fixes. I'm going to check and try to get it now.

Okay my phone is now updated. I am decommissioning my S9+ and packing it up for the trade in. I will miss it. But the S10+ definitely feels like a trade up for me. The superior battery life and the wonderful wide angle camera shots decided that. The fps feels like a small backward step but lol, it still works better than any other fps I endured on all the Samsungs up until the S9+.

I did remove my film protector. I didn't want to but I had to because the phone arrived with this pinhole dent on the display and I had to make sure that was just on the protector and didn't go through to the actual display itself. After all, the phone had arrived completely loose and unprotected in the shipping box. Gosh that was really disappointing. How stupid of Samsung to not have some sort of seal. But I did put an OTAO brand film protector on. It's okay. It works with the fps about the same as the Samsung one did.

I love the flamingo pink color of my S10+. It is very cheerful and I enjoy it in my Ringke clear case.

It has NOT wrestled main phone status away from my XR and that's actually because of its size. The Xr slides into my pocket a bit easier, so if I can take only one phone out it is the Xr. And my teenager will be starting a high school in which they use iPads, but can't keep their phones with them. She wants to be able to iMessage me from school. So I will be sticking with my dual iPhone/Android partnership indefinitely. Which is fine. I don't hate Apple or iOS. I'm just frustrated with them sometimes.

At least now I can say, though, that I am no longer slave to the Apple Watch-iPhone partnership. I wear my Galaxy Watch Active most of the time, even when carrying my iPhone. I find it more comfortable and I like it better in some ways.

The fingerprint scanner is certainly improved as time has gone on

Did you guys receive the fp update? Samsung updated the biometrics software (V2.0.8.4). People on Reddit seem to be thrilled about it, as reported by Sammobile. This is great news for people like me, who are waiting for the Note 10.

Yep i got the update it is SUPER fast now, as expected it's going to improve with updates and really reinforces the S10s position as the best Android phone on the market at the moment.

Any UK owners received their free Buds yet? Been over a month now since we could claim.

Not me. Others have from the UK like over a week ago, so not sure what's going on.
my only advice is to not even attempt to call Samsung to ask as you will likely receive terrible customer service.

I received (and sold) my pair for a phone I sent back for a full refund. They really should wait until the returns period is up before sending out free gifts.

Yup, this is what Huawei did last year with the P20 and the free Bose headphones which I sold.

They've also done the same with the Sonos speaker that's free with the P30.
You cannot actually submit a claim until after the first 2 week return period (18th April).

Thankfully I've no intention of returning mine and I actually have a use for the Sonos speaker to which is a pretty great freebie.
