It’s odd as I went from getting 7-8 hours screen time to a matter of days getting only 4-5

When I’m at work on 4G it drained more than normal. At 50% I was on about 1 hour 40 screen time.

I’m still using the S10 now but I’ve put my sim back in my max and will see how the drain compares in similar usage on my max when I’m back in work Tuesday. Air pods arrive Tuesday and series 4 watch Wednesday so I will use my iPhone with watch and air pods and compare as I use my S10 plus along side it for now...

Feel like we’ve been on this journey together buddy, however, I’m back on my XS Max due to similar issues as you.

I still have the S10 plus with and stuck my business sim in it. So I’m carrying two phones at the moment.

I’m enjoying the polish in iOS but there are some things I miss. Hoping I can manage with two plus sized devices.

Hmmm, then it must be a software issue, 1 hour 40 mins SOT at 50 percent is terrible even on 4g. The fact you have already done a factory reset makes it even more of a mystery.

I tried everything like leaving AOD off not waking screen up, turning power saving mode on to stop background activity but no luck. Will see on Tuesday when I use my max and see where I’m at on same usage. Can’t really compare the screen time with max as I know screen time usage is different

Yeah we have had similar issues from the start

I know what I’ve said about apple and iPhone on here but it really does just work as it’s suppose to. No work around, everything syncs and performance wise it just works.

My S10 plus was even acting up last night where it refused to let me close all notifications so much that the UI crashed and I couldn’t even get into the home screen.

Agreed there will be things I will miss from my plus should I get rid of it but from being without apple watch and air pods that integration is something I’ve missed and it became clear when listening to music. Don’t like that you can’t listen to galaxy buds on tab S4 without switching Bluetooth off on the S10. Just the little things. Call quality isn’t great on buds either.

Just one thing that I figured out in regards to Bluetooth headphones is that even on Android the W1 chip in my Beats X is way better then all my other Bluetooth headphones Inc the galaxy buds when it comes to connectivity, no need to disconnect from my s10 when I want to connect it to another device.

I’m going to try air pods on my S10 plus as well as my max and see how it works in terms of dropouts. Got Spotify signed up til 16th may will use Spotify for now before moving back to Apple Music

I get constant drop outs with the galaxy buds, they are rubbish, at first they seemed ok and they connect seamlessly but they don't hold a steady connection. My beats X are just way better and I suspect the W1 chip is the reason.

Well after doing some reset settings with spotify got the buds on now and no dropouts.

Switched power saving mode off so nothing is restricted.

Going to put me sim back in my S10 plus and do a test on battery life and buds in the gym and music playing in the car to see if these issues are fixed and see over next 2-3 days and see what I route I want to go as my air pods and series 4 will be here next work so will decide then
[doublepost=1555856929][/doublepost]Well not sure how i’ve Done it but notifications are now coming through straight away...for now at least.

So my bank balance might be ok after all. I’ve cancelled my air pods and series 4 orders for now and see if the changes i’ve Made have sorted these issues. Be just the issue with battery life but will see if the changes will make that better too.

What would be the point in backing it up if you’re not going to restore any apps or settings?

Because you transfer the bugs and glitches when doing so.

It is a common enough phenomena for either ios or android.

Always set up a new phone as new. i only restore call logs and messages at a push.

no doubt my next android phone i will start from fresh...transfering everything from my max was a mistake. doesn't take long to set up from fresh either.

I caved and finally got a S10e. Saw a deal to trade in any smartphone and get 200 off. I have a Motorola from I believe 2015 that is probably worth $10 lol so made sense to me. Now to read through this thread for tips...

have you ever had the icon 2018 buds? I'd like to get some feedback from those who have. I got them free with the points from the note 9 deal last month.

Have you tried YouTube Music? I’ve recently started playing around with that one, and their “Your Mixtape” playlist blows away anything from Apple and Spotify. Plus it’s endless, and you can download up to 100 tracks for offline listening. Whatever algorithm Google is using for that is spot on (at least for me).

But it shouldn't have to be done like that, especially if OEMs are offering a transfer solution that's supposed to be almost seamless.

I've restored every new iPhone I've ever purchased from a backup and have never been forced to restored as brand new because of bugs. My current iPhone 7 backup was from my XS Max with zero issue. That backup probably dates all the way back to my original iPhone. Same goes for any Nexus or Pixel I've purchased. In fact I connected my previous XS Max to my Pixel 3 XL to set it up and it was pretty much seamless. I've also helped a bunch of people go in the other direction--Android to iPhone, using the Move to iOS app.

I have done the same numerous times in both directions...from iPhone to Android then iPhone to iPhone. I have had mixed results to say the least.

I have restored from iPhone iTunes backup and my iPhone run hot and lag. Only fix was a wipe and reinstall from scratch.
I have setup new Android phones from iPhones and have had complete success..then other times had to wipe to to get things right.

I think it is a mixed bag anytime you restore data from one OS to another...especially if there has been any kind of software updates in between the restores.....be it software updates or OS updates.

Well some stuff is harmless tbh. call logs, texts, documents, etc. Just stay away from restoring apps and settings. That is where the bogeys live!

Set up as new.
don't root.
Go through all settings and sub settings to find out what does what.
Give the samsung stuff a try. they make some good apps.
it's not an iphone.
Stay away from voodoo advice.

This is beyond weird

With my sim not in the S10 plus notifications were coming through same time as iPhone and now my sim is back in the S10 plus notifications are delayed again...makes me think is this data related..so odd

I’m giving up lol

Thanks! I was considering setting up through backup but saw people having issues so will do setup as new.

Been a while since I've used a Samsung phone...last one was an S3. Didn't like the curve screens nor their UI so the S10e and one UI should resolve those reservations for me.

Haven't used an iPhone in a while either...and I'm happy it isn't an iPhone because the small annoyances I've had with iPhones I could not live day to day with one. Example: I use telegram a lot, have to keep the app open to send videos. If I have a slow connection I have to sit there for a few minutes waiting...same goes for uploading to onedrive.

Wanted to wait until the Pixel 4 but at $550 for the S10e I figured if I do want to upgrade to the Pixel 4 I should be able to get about 400 for the S10e in October....so not losing much.

Perhaps you need a new Sim

I get what you mean with that. I actually find it fun re downloading everything anyway. lol

Have you tried putting the phone in airplane mode and then enabling WiFi to see if that makes a difference? As opposed to having phone signal on but the WiFi taking over.

Just trying it now...

Will see if it makes any difference

At the moment the difference in notifications when I leave the phone on standby on some notifications is like 9 mins difference. Which isn’t a big deal if notifications weren’t coming through all at once

I found Twitter notifications sometimes coming through about 10 mins after my iPad as well on the S10+. It's the same on my P30 Pro. I've not tried the airplane mode test yet.
