Just gone done listening to Vector, where they had Daniel Bader talking about how this phone compares to the latest iPhone and ... boy was he kind of awful.

Alright, which XSMaxers are considering the switch?

S10+ looks beautiful, wow. I love my AW too much though.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yes. I’m switching. There are too many features on the S10 plus that are missing on the Xs max. I don’t expect Apple to add many of them with the next iPhones.

I’m going to get the galaxy watch too.

He was. The only thing the iPhone has going for it is the chip but in real life use it doesn’t matter. Apple are not harnessing the power of the A12 chip. For opening apps and running them it doesn’t make a difference and updates. That’s it.
[doublepost=1550807312][/doublepost]I’ve pre-ordered the S10 plus 128 GB in prism white.

To be honest I struggled to buy the Xs max because of the price and lack of features. I struggled not to buy the note 9! I’ve been feeling this way for a few years. I struggled to buy the X too. The iPhone 7 Plus was the last iPhone I saw any real value in upgrading to. It was the ecosystem that made me stay.

It always makes me sad when people talk about the power of a CPU or GPU and refuse to answer a basic question of "how will this affect normal people".

Hell, he even said Metal was better than Vulkan but had exactly zero explanation of how games on iOS are better.

Because they have an Apple logo on the back of the phone, hence why they're better.

I am definitely buying this!! I had it in the cart last night, but they only had black. The white is awesome. They also have a wallet led flip cover that looks cool since it has LED imbedded in the front so you can still have a card.

If only there was a way to have the AW be totally independent of the phone. It went from a silly accessory to the thing I miss most about my iPhone.

.

Just a FYI the gear S3 is probably a superior watch too the new one. Removing the rotating bezel is a step backwards. It was the absolute best part of their watches.

If you have a series 3-4 AW then temper your expectations. The Samsung watch hardware is amazing, but the software leaves a lot to be desired.

I’ve been saying for a while now that the A series chips are just specs on paper becuase they don’t do anything that other phones can’t. People have said the A12 does computational photography but google do it better with an ‘inferior’ chip becuase they have better software.

Can the galaxy watch ( the one they announced in September last year) better and can it do the wireless charging on the back of the S10?

I have a series 3. I use it to receive notifications, Apple Pay, setting alarms, reminders and events to my calendar, to receive the odd call, reply to the odd message and the flashlight. I’ve never used the apps on the watch becuase they always take to long to open. As long as the samsung watch can do those things I’ll be fine with it.

Ok this is a weird one - a case is to protect your phone, but if you had this one, then you’ll be worried about damaging both your phone & your (probably pricey) LED case?

That's because some people are hooked on the Apple KoolAid. Even some American carries had a "BOGO" on the XS, buy an XS and get an XR for free or $750 credit towards a new iPhone of your choosing. AFAIK this is Apple pushing these kinds of lewd sales through and not the carriers.

I think macOS is great. I think iMessages is fantastic and RCS won't touch it in the future. I think some parts of iPhones are nice, but the rest of their hardware leaves little to be desired. As for the ARM-Intel news, it sounds like hot air and data extrapolation simply isn't viable. I suspect if true, Apple will drop the ball on that, too. My very basic theory seems to hold water given that Apple is focused on providing services to consumers, not just in the Apple sphere but to others, as that's a stream of recurring revenue per customer.

It isn't too hard to imagine that in four year's time Apple will be raking in anywhere from $8-15B in services fees if they offer what people want and don't drop the ball in Apple-esque fashion.

Just read that the S10 notification LED has been removed. Instead now the camera hole will light up depending on the notifications. Also the hole will be white when the camera is in use. Pretty cool.
Any idea if it'll support multi-color notification support?

Well, it doesn't have much of a lip to protect the glass. But the way the light disperses on the backside, I don't believe it's glass. More like laminated plastic.

Screen Crack Warranty
Can this be purchased if I buy through carrier?

I wouldn't expect that mentality from one of the writers of Android Central.

I'd like to eventually try to figure out why that is. Is it because iOS has better things for developers or because of other reasons?
I’m surprised it’s still the case tbh. Why aren’t certain Apps equally optimised for Android, after all this time?
