Guess we will see. While I don't expect it to beat the Pixel 3, I hope it is close.

There doesn't seem to be any basis for this. They have admitted that they haven't tested the camera. Their reasoning is that Samsung talked about the wide angle lens and didn't say much about the other camera improvements. Well the new lens is going to take center stage and Samsung had a lot to talk about in the event because there were a lot of products and new features. They were not going to spend 20 minutes talking about computational photography like Apple did. Apple had nothing else to talk about, although admittedly the new cameras in the Xs/Xs max are really good.

Dxo mark didn't give the note 9 and S9 + much higher scores than their predecessors and I think this was quite rightly so because there wasn't much improvement. Perhaps there is this time.

I'd like to eventually try to figure out why that is. Is it because iOS has better things for developers or because of other reasons?
Oh, I've got a perfect example for you. I know next to nothing about modern social media, but I read an article a while back about companies who develop apps refusing to dogfood their app on the Android side or presume they can get by with just iPhone users.

It comes down to lazy developers. Some of the more prominent Android first apps run like dog-**** on iOS, according to articles I've read in the past.

There's one company I recently read about that did just that. I can't remember the name but it's that popular one with Chat in its name all the kids are using these days. They ignored Android and are just beginning to dogfood their Android app to fix what they lost to Instafaceandfoodpics.

I just got done watching a quick top ten on the new devices by some English reviewer and they said the imaging sensor is the same as last year but the camera components are newer and Samsung's been hard at work on the software side since that's where Google has excelled and blew past other handset makers including Apple.

XS/Max's camera is somewhat better than the S9's, but the Pixel 3 is just mind boggling good, even if there's a good bit of AI/post-process going on there. It's about as close to what you see.

Low light conditions will be the bane of digital cameras regardless of form factor. Though at this point I find Samsung's layer polished to the point that I'm not interested in competitors and the Chinese handset makers are dodgy enough for me to look away. I have a feeling if I splurge for the 512 or 1 TB storage, next year's phone will be cheaper since the process is fairly new at that level for Samsung.

I’m surprised it’s still the case tbh. Why aren’t certain Apps equally optimised for Android, after all this time?

I would like to know what apps are better on ios than on android... but im quite sure that the reason behind that some apps are better design in ios because of the appstore rules ”the app will be banned if not updated... before march 2019 blablabla” so there is nothing else the dev can do but to make it look -at least cosmetic - better for new iphones/ipads but in the same time they may look like a **** in older iphones/ipads... because the new guide for app developing because of the notch etc. Even apples own apps looks horrible in notchless iphones - huge empty space, safe area guides etc..

I will admit the more popular apps are usually better on iOS. However it's not enough to get me to switch to an iPhone.
I don't really have an interest in the popular apps like instagram and snapchat. I'm too old for snapchat, never really figured out how to use it. I have an account for instagram but that's only to look at other people's photos. I don't post anything on there. The main apps I use are fine on android, like banking apps, web browser, youtube , news apps etc.

I am checking on the AT&T site and for the S10+ model, at least, it looks like they are offering only the 128 GB model. AT&T often pulls this crap, which is why my S9+ is only 64 GB despite Samsung having made a 128 GB model last year. But at least this year the minimum is 128GB, which should suit just fine. I just don't like carriers throwing their weight around on every damn thing.

For some reason they are separate listings, but for me it shows the other storage options. This is from AT&T’s website.

Went to Best Buy today to preorder, unfortunately the $100 off is for sprint, for AT&T I only get $50 off. I also can’t trade more than one device, so it came out to $250 for 256gb after trading in my Note 8.

While I was there I was able to play with the display model, and man the 10e felt great, though a little light. It’s just a hair smaller than my iPhone XS and feels very similar in hand. I love it as my XS has been my favorite phone, now I get a similar phone with android! Will be hard pressed to get a Pixel 4 if I already have this.

Instagram still doesn't have an iPad version. Try using the iPhone version on the iPad, completely horrible.

I have a confession. I like the hole punch! Unlike the notch on the iPhone or Pixel 3, there is lots of room for notification icons. Furthermore, when browsing the web, the URL field fits nicely to the left of the hole punch which results in maximum utilisation of the URL field.

Hopefully Google will take note and use a hole punch on the Pixel 4.

The S10e is very tempting and I believe it will be a massive bargain in a few months when the price has come down. I love my Pixel 2 XL but miss the lightness and sleekness of the S6 Edge Plus. Fingers crossed the new S10 phones run have a snappy UI.

Any place but here or there....
Have to say the s10e $550 trade in for my 8+ is tempting, but I just ordered an SE (basically would have been the same price with that trade in).

I’ll hang onto the 8+ and keep an eye on these. I need a smaller phone than 5.8 right now.

Looking forward to reading your opinions though. Enjoy your new Sammys everyone. :)

I am definitely buying this!! I had it in the cart last night, but they only had black. The white is awesome. They also have a wallet led flip cover that looks cool since it has LED imbedded in the front so you can still have a card..

That what I have but I do not recommend putting a card in without a screen protector
[doublepost=1550836051][/doublepost]
Ok this is a weird one - a case is to protect your phone, but if you had this one, then you’ll be worried about damaging both your phone & your (probably pricey) LED case?
Nah even GM noted recently dropping her phone in a car park The full Led case has the best edge protection too on the S9+ and the Note 9
[doublepost=1550836984][/doublepost]
Can this be purchased if I buy through carrier?

Sorry I suspect this is a Malay offer only

Just ordered mine today, and they do have a $45 restocking fee.

Problem with Best Buy is that they create a huge stink about charge backs on fees they charge.

Samsung has screwed up refunds for me in the past too. I guess if I get the S10E, it has to be a final decision. That isn’t something I am comfortable making at this time because it’s going from a known to an unknown hoping to bank on the $ saved and the benefits gained.

Crazy they don’t have an iPad version after all this time. I read once the reason being that Facebook don’t get on with Apple, so have never bothered to do a dedicated iPad app.

Back on topic, as much as I love my XS Max, I’m very tempted by the S10+. Especially with wireless buds I can sell and 10% Quidco cash back if I buy from Samsung....

Good to see I am not the only person looking to switch over from the iPhone XS Max. My problem is the long-term relationship with Samsung. The flat display could solve my concerns about false touches and getting the right screen protector at an affordable rate. However, losing on software support, FaceID, iMessage, and the telephoto camera could be tough in the beginning.

I can't see an opportunity to buy the S10E unlocked from a place w/ 14 day return window w/o charging a restocking fee.

damn...looks like the S10+ in prism blue is out of stock
 .

I knew Flamingo Pink was out yesterday for the AT&T variant. It's kind of weird to see Samsung go out of stock during pre-orders. That was always an Apple problem, not Samsung's.

Questions for One UI users: Can you reply to texts and what's app messages from the lock screen like on iOS w/o unlocking the device? Do you need to unlock your phone to toggle off Wi-Fi to?

So the phone screen has to be on to unlock? That is a disappointment for sure, did they upgrade the face unlock? I also still like the sensor on the back but good to see them pushing technology

I think Samsung made all the right moves on the S10e.

If I had not decided to keep my Pixel 2 this is the phone I would have chosen for the times I need a nice pocket friendly phone that's a solid all-rounder. My Pixel 2 is still that, so I decided to go big on this purchase. But the S10e is sweet!

That looks like a filler article. The buzz is on the Samsung right now and they have to keep pushing out articles to get their share of traffic so they basically pulled some speculation out of their butts and fluffed it up. There's little substance to it. My husband has some friends in publishing and they say this is how it works all the time. Even our kids have to do stuff like this from time to time to make deadlines for their school paper, especially if their "real news" articles had to be postponed for some reason.

That's the case that saved my S9+ from the horrid drop. Please excuse the poor quality of the photo but I found out a long time ago I can only upload photos directly from my phones to this forum if I use the Playmoji and doing that makes the photos low quality when shared.

The case's proper name is the Galaxy S-View Flip cover. I used my $50 accessories credit during pre-order to get a black one for my coral phone.

I had one for my S8+, too. They add very little bulk and I haven't needed a display protector since I started using these. The LED display doesn't stay on all the time.

The wallet LED case is good, too. I have one of those, too.

I have other cases but because I never found a display protector I liked I tend to keep my S9+ in this case pictured.

hello from The Netherlands (again:D )

Ordered my Samsung S10. And my iPhone XS will go into the drawer for a while, once I receive the S10.

The new S10 ticks all of my hardware wishes.

Regarding cases, I have pre ordered the Pitaka Magcase (there is a 10% discount on the new S10 cases)
I had these cases in the past for my iPhone 8, X and currently my XS.

A really nice minimalistic case. Dropped my XS 2 times since I have got the Magcase. Zero damage or scratches to my phone or case
