What’s the difference between an unlocked Galaxy and the T-Mobile version?

The T-mobile version is software branded, the unlocked version is not. The difference might be Wifi calling and other carrier features might not be available on the unlocked version.

IIRC, one upside for T-Mobile is I believe the the code necessary for their WiFi calling is in the Android OS itself, so unlike AT&T who requires certification for each device to able to use WiFi calling on their network, it just works on any Android phone on T-Mobile. I believe it dates back to Android 5, but don’t quote me on that.

One aspect I’m not sure about though would be virtual voicemail.

Hmm, I might have to see if it’s worth the T-Mobile one because I prefer less bloat.

Im surprised how bad the iPhone does in comparison as it also uses a 7nm chip. I know the battery is smaller but iPhones are usually more efficient power wise. One thing is for sure the S10+ is the new king for battery life.
I'm not surprised, the newer iPhones suffer from radio issues which causes huge battery drains. I would leave my XS Max in stand by and lose 8% of battery in 2 hours which is insane.

What's larger to you? 6.5"? I chose my XS Max over the XS for the higher resolution display and larger battery size. But when the XR came out, I kinda wished I had the XR.
As big as I can fit in my pocket lol. Realistically I think the Note 9 size is as big as you would really want to put in a pair of jeans.

hello from The Netherlands (again:D )

Ordered my Samsung S10. And my iPhone XS will go into the drawer for a while, once I receive the S10.

The new S10 ticks all of my hardware wishes.

Regarding cases, I have pre ordered the Pitaka Magcase (there is a 10% discount on the new S10 cases)
I had these cases in the past for my iPhone 8, X and currently my XS.

A really nice minimalistic case. Dropped my XS 2 times since I have got the Magcase. Zero damage or scratches to my phone or case

The back cover color of S10 just looks gorgeous, so I prefer a simple clear case. Getting this one for only $5.6 after applying the extra 30% off code on the page. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MQ4QNQR/

Here in Australia the 5G variant will cost around $2400 outright...ouch!!! But the beast still hasn't come out yet.

Gone are the days when $699 was massive for a flagship phone :) . Now its heading towards $3000.

Very nice and all, but for North Americans a test on an Exynos phone is not very useful. With the awful performance of Exynos phones for the last two generations - be it speed, battery etc - it will be interesting to see how this works out. Anandtech has done some preliminary testing - https://www.anandtIch.com/show/13786/snapdragon-855-performance-preview

and overall it looks very good with some reservations. Ignore Android Central - Bader is ex of Mobile Syrup in Canada and does not really have a load of credibility as far as I have seen over the years.

Awful performance on exynos chip? I've had the exynos chip in my s8 and S9 and they both have excellent battery life and run smoothly. I did read about the S9 exynos having a small issue but in practice it's been a non issue.

I suppose I have to give you links then. As you will soon realise, these are not comic book reviews like the Verge et al give. Even though Anand and Brian Klug left for Apple, Anandtech is multiple levels ahead of the standard clickbait websites.

and here:

As is clearly shown, Exynos for the last two generations has been sub-par.

I'm well aware of those reviews and the reported issues with the exynos version but as I told you in practice it's very much a non issue. I get over 6 hours SOT and butter smooth performance on my S9. Also I'm pretty sure the exynos is under clocked to match the performance of the snapdragons. Furthermore the s10 exynos is using the newer chip which may not have the same 'issues' If anything I've heard more reports of the sd varients having bad battery life on the note 9
