I'm not even going to look at those Exynos vs. Snapdragon tests. It's pointless since I'm stuck with Snapdragon if I want full warranty coverage and carrier support. If the Snapdragon is better, what am I going to do, dance a jig around the room? If it's worse am I sending the phone back to Samsung with a letter covered in bitter tears? Nah, I'll be checking my emails and doing everything I always do on smart phones, whether they're speed kings or turtles.
So much is luck of the draw anyway. iPhone Xr is supposed to be a battery champ. Mine is a battery chump and randomly overheats a lot. It still lasts me a day and does everything I need it to do very well, it just isn't as good as other people's Xr's, and I only know that because I read about it. If I was reading National Geographic and People Magazine and hanging out on hiking forums I would be none the wiser and think my phone was magical.
It's good to be informed, but sometimes you drench yourself in minutae that sucks all the joy out of your new purchase.
I'm more concerned that all the features work well, especially the new fingerprint sensor. I was very impressed with how it was working for Flossy Carter during his unboxing video.
However, I'm pragmatic and willing to enter my passcode a lot this first go around with the new tech. I won't be so forgiving next time, but I'm willing to temper my expectations for this model.
