I wouldn't point the finger at Samsung.. it is your carrier that is slowing things down.. thus voiding your comment in relation to having a go at Samsung.

I have been on Pie since mid January and I have been on the February security patch for more than a week now.

NB, I have an unlocked Note9 from Samsung UK.

Nothing to do with my carrier, but in the U.S., the unlocked versions don't get the updates until all of the carriers get them first for some reason. I would think it would be the other way since the updates come straight from Samsung, but just the way it is. You are better off having a carrier version in the U.S., but I get unlocked for resale and I have lines on multiple carriers, so I switch.

It could have but it has a better camera and a more advanced AI. The S10 plus has a better screen to body ratio the Xs max, triple camera system, can be used with gear VR, has reverse wireless charging, in display FPS, it can be used as a desktop computer, SD card expansion, has split screen apps and pip, AOD, multiple methods of unlocking and still costs less than the max. The note 9 has better feature than the Xs max and still costs less. Those are premium phones and still cost less than the Xs max. There’s no justification for Apple’s prices. iOS and an ecosystem can’t justify costing £200 for half the storage.

C'mon now we all know why the iPhone cost so much... because of the Apple Tax! If you want the "perceived" best then you have to pay for the perceived best.

I definitely still don't like the pricing on the current lineup, but I plan to get even by keeping my phone for 3+ years. I can say that as vein as it sounds more iPhone users than you think are into the aesthetics of the phone. It's a source of pride (at least here in America) to have an iPhone and the "perceived" stature that comes along with that. The newer the iPhone the more perceived stature. That's just the way it is.

I sat there and made it a point to touch and feel everything I mentioned in my post and the Note 9 feels MUCH MORE PREMIUM than the GALAXY S10. Whatever metal Samsung used on the s10, it is a step backwards.

I guarantee it'll come out that the S10 aren't made from the same metals other galaxy devices have been using the last 2-3 years. Watch!!!

Nope, both are made from glass and aluminium.

I will not as well that the the metal frame on the S10 seems as thin as ever, perhaps this lends to the super light feeling. I also feel like the back glass shouldn't be curved like the front, makes the metal frame look like an apple bitten on both sides.

The Note 9 felt more premium. I would love some research to be done on the metal used in the new s10's.

The back of glass Samsung phones has been curved since the S7 what the hell are you talking about?

Samsung really impressed me with S8, but I didn't purchase it due to the battery issues. S9 added a little bit more excitement.. but S10 looks really polished! And I'm all in with Apple but this one just looks so good! I don't know.. the further in I go the more I think I may end up buying one of their devices one of these years. I'm not sold on any folding devices, but I have got to give credit where it's due.. S10 looks great!

a lot people are afraid the switch os hardly possible if you're deep into the Apple eco system, but it became actually easier and easier the last few years.

I am using the Calendar, Contacts en Mail iCloud services, can pretty much use and sync them between Apple en Android devices.

Okay, I'll admit it will NEVER be so smooth ofcourse if you stay in Apple's eco system, but still....its doable (is that a correct English word?)

Don't be afraid of change, iOS isn't what it used to be, Android isn't on Froyo anymore either. The worse that can happen is that you won't go back to iOS.

Bro I've ZERO INTEREST in Galaxy phones until the S10... the last galaxy I had was the S5. I've not held, touched, cared, viewed, consumed any thing Galaxy related in that time.

Again, the phone frame looks unnecessarily thin and I hate the effect it has on how cases look when on the phone... Like they have an over/under bite. Would look better with flat back.

This thread has been a bit annoying today. I can't wait till these things ship out and people actually talk about the phone that's in their hand.

PS. By annoying, I mean about 20% as annoying as the iPhone threads leading up to launch.

What’s the big deal with AirPods and Galaxy Buds anyways?

To me, the AirPods feel small and expensive. I also find the Galaxy Buds not incentivizing enough for me to pre-order a S10.

I prefer either using my Bluetooth Skull Candy headphones or a pair of wired headphones. I listen to a ton of sports podcasts daily. But I just don’t see the worthwhile to get AirPods or Galaxy Buds.

Quickness of pairing and no wires are a huge plus. For example, at work I use my cell phone primarily. It's great being able to just put the airpods in my ears as a call is coming in and be able to click to answer. Any bluetooth headphones I've had in the past have always made me at a minimum press some kind of button every time I pair them. Just that ease of use is great. Can't wait for Galaxy Buds (yes I bit the bullet and preordered).

To me, I wish they gave the Buds to the S10E people to make the price easier to swallow lol. A free pair would’ve been interesting to try.

But to me, $150+ tax on top of what I’ll pay? It defeats the purpose to leave my XS Max to go to a Galaxy since I am trying to save $.

Sure, the extra battery life, more RAM, telephoto lens, QHD display, heart rate sensor, FP sensor in the display would be nice. I also don’t like the curved display either.

Oh yeah. Coming from iOS, if I hadn't found a deal on the airpods, I never would have spent $150.

I think $100 price point would attract more people to them for sure.

Airpods had decent sound if you're not too picky. Should be interesting to see what the Galaxy buds sound like.
