Biggest news for me is the less aggressive screen curvature. Can’t wait to test these in person to see how far they had the balls to take that. If they’re flat enough, I’m gonna be tumescent with a dual spherical azure shift until the Notes get released this fall. Nearly flat Note 20 with a 6.9” or god wiling even larger screen? Yeah that, I might just tap.

As someone who doesnt use the Spen, I just dont see what the Note could offer over the Ultra later this year. Probably small spec bumps everywhere, but nothing groundbreaking.

Pretty sure I'm sending back the unopened Pixel 4 XL I have (for the 2nd time). After trade in and deals the S20 plus price is pretty similar and frankly is a much better phone.

Aside from the S-Pen, there won't be much of a difference between the upcoming Note and S20 Ultra. For me, I like having the option to use the S-Pen and all the features that come with it.

I can't wait until Samsung put a microphone inside the S-Pen... be able use the Google Assistant with it, but knowing Samsung they will present it for Bixby.

At this point, I honestly think Samsung is just throwing stuff out to see what sticks. I feel they decided to bring out this flip phone was because of the newest Moto Razr.

Because why bring this out? They already have the Galaxy Fold... put more resources into making sure that's a solid product before bringing out another foldable prototype. I'm definitely interested in the Galaxy Fold.. but I want more reassurance that they ironed out majority of the issues. Imagine the Galaxy Fold.. mixed in with the Note series, bringing along all the S-Pen features.
Well I do think the Z Flip is a welcome idea and it's not a bad idea targeting it to women. I was really so close to going for it. I'm not 100% sure I won't. But it looks like the cheapest they will let it go for in a trade in deal is $980.

I'm not sure about that. That's a lot of money. Ouch. I was hoping it could get down to $800. But it is harder than I thought it would be making a somewhat lateral move for so much money when I see the new cameras on the S series.

I have no horse in the race, but there's a method to Samsung madness. They constantly bring out these kinds of phones to find out what fits... the Samsung Edge helped bring along bezel-less phones. Galaxy Note helped bring along big phones. Not sure where these foldables will take us, but eventually both Samsung and consumers will tell us.

As soon as there were buzz about the Z Flip, I didn't pay no attention... wasn't interested. I'm more interested in following along the progress of the Galaxy Fold. From my perspective... I want something that fits in my pocket, however when I take it out of my pocket.. it transform to something else.

Definitely a tough call. The device looks really good and the specs are very future proof. I just don’t know that it’s $250 better than my 11 Pro and worth spending extra money to leave the Apple ecosystem.

If I had assurance the the Ultra’s camera upgrades made the actual photos better in real life than the iPhone and Pixel, then I think I’d be all over this thing.

I’m between just ignoring this or renting the phone from Samsung for 2 weeks and seeing for myself.

I shall reassess my stance on Samsung when the Note20+ arrives.

I want that yummy 6.9inch Display, Camera and 16GB RAM from the S20 Ultra 512GB, but I want it with an SPen and more squared off design.

Also need to see what the iPhone 12 Pro Max brings.

Interesting times.

yeah, I do prefer the more squared off corners of the Note series. I'll probably upgrade then too :)

Still trying to sell my pre-order goodies from the note 9. Brand sealed in box AKG over the ear headphones, asking $50 and no takers 2 years on

Weird. I sold mine pretty quickly when I got the Note 9. For close to $100 IIRC. But that was right when it came out. I sold the Galaxy Buds last year too pretty quickly. I may try this + model out this year.

The phone looks awesome, but for $1400 I feel like it needs to be near perfect in terms of features. If I’m paying that much (and dealing with the huge Samsung depreciation) I expect better biometrics and 120hz at full resolution.

It would almost be easier if you knew you’d be staying on Samsung because then at least you’d know you’d have trade in value the next time you upgrade. I’m with you though. And for me it would either be the Ultra or stay put.

My thinking is I’m going to wait this one out. Wait until end of year and assess then. Worst case I buy an Ultra then on a heavy discount.

Also, a little birdy told me Pixel 4s are getting a $400off msrp discount tomorrow at T-Mobile. Shame they’re only 64gb but I could probably make that work until end of year for that price.

I heard about that too. That’s crazy! If I were a T-Mobile customer I’d reconsider getting it again.

Trust me Oohara the curved screen is not too bad on Note10 especially when using the s pen. The only annoying thing about it is the accidental touches.

When youtube reviewers test the 100x zoom, it looks surprisingly decent in the viewfinder.

Anyways, Samsung will offer me a $700 trade in. I'm thinking about doing that for the S20 Ultra. Not sure yet.

Every major tech reviewer has said the zooming beyond 30x is terrible and blurry. The 100x is definitely a gimmick.
Yeah. The zoom figures are rather hyperbolic and underscore that we have reached diminishing returns for smartphone. Incremental all around improvements with disproportionate price increases.

I reserve my judgement until photo comparisons have gone live.

Not sure why Samsung sells it flagship phones with "Basic" settings out of the box.

Don't forget guys to change ....

Refresh rate from 60 to 120
Screen resolution from HD to WQHD
Turn ON Dolby atmos
Turn On video enhancer and other settings to get the best from your phone.

Many owners have no clue .

It's a shame it has "100 x space zoom" written on the camera module. It's a bit tacky and the kind of thing a child would brag about having.

Is there huge diff between space zoom and optical? If no , then there is nothing tacky about it.

Well, competition is fierce and the winner takes it all so you got to be ahead of your rivals.
But....we customers are a bit funny, if manufacturers didn't come up with something new we criticize them, if they did we still criticize them.

If s20/plus/ultra did not have the new camera how is it going to compete and distinguish from Note10, iphone, pixel and others ?
The new camera of s20 ultra is certainly one of its main features and selling power so .......

Can’t have both of the bolded options on at the same time. Refresh rate of 120hz only available at HD resolution.

Those Galaxy Buds+ are meant to be a huge improvement over the prior model. Nice bonus, but still, not so nice asking price.

Oh & I question the stabilisation of the camera with a zoom that large. How would you ever take a decent shot at 100x zoom?

Like the Huawei zoom, I can’t help thinking of it as stalker mode - where you just want to see something/someone from a distance, without necessarily taking a photo of them.

Reviews will be interesting.
