I get the more choices the better, but I prefer when it’s streamlined. Because I don’t understand the iPad sizes... 7.9, 9.7, 10.2, 10.5, 11, 12.9, it’s out of control.

Yeah it might seem confusing at first glance. But a quick check of the prices will reveal that the last two Pro models on that list start at $800 and $1,000 respectively.

Most consumers will disregard those immediately.

Ok... so now we're down to four models.

The iPad Mini is in a class of its own since it's the only small model today. If you want the small iPad... this is it. If not... keep looking.

Now you're just left with the "standard" $329 iPad and the iPad Air.

It's not that confusing. But I can see how it might appear that way.

Though if iPad shopping makes your head spin... don't go shopping for refrigerators, washers and dryers. Your head will explode from the dozens and dozens of models out there! :p

Or have you shopped for a TV lately? Samsung makes 36 different models with multiple sizes in each. And that's just one manufacturer!

Suddenly... Apple's iPad lineup doesn't look so bad... ;)

I question whether all the beefed up specs are practically useable (& noticeable from last year‘s equivalent models) for most buyers, & if the price tier shift was necessary? For the latter, I was critical of Apple when they did the same during the iPhone X release, & only grabbed the phone on a heavily discounted corporate plan.

Samsung didn’t need to do this.

I'm definitely gonna switch from my iPhone 11 pro to the S20 (Cloud blue), I got hands on with the device in a local vodafone store, switched on the 120hz and it is instantly noticeable. Unlike the 1440p switch to 1080p didnt really notice a change and wouldnt at such a small screen size.

I've grown tired of Apples slow movements in adopting new tech, like 5G and 60hz+ screens. And the biggest problem is the constant cat and mouse game them revoking my sideloaded apps. Atleast on Android i'll have the freedom to install whatever app i want. Its why i switched my 4k tv to an android 4k tv and not looked back.

Yep, but it isn't something you have to opt into to. If you want to have the "places" tab, you agree to share your data with a third party (popular call block company, same thing with spam block on the galaxy phones), which in turn will sell you ads.

-You don't have to use it.
-You don't have to agree to the terms unless you want that feature
-If you don't use it, then you are back to a normal dial akin to iOS.

For example, i would rather not have my data sold and opt for privacy when possible. So I turn off "customization" services on the phone, and I have blocked the included weather app. Nothing is for free, and the same thing goes for services like Apple News.

Most in-depth camera review I've seen yet...

The summary is basically that in standard shots the S20 Ultra isnt anything groundbreaking unfortunately. The area where they were impressed was the optical zoom (up to 5x). Seems to be one of the best long range cameras on the market as long as you stay in the optical zoom range.

I will say, the pictures they took with the 108 MP lens looked really clear when zoomed in but the phone seemed to struggle from the software side of things when it came to autofocusing and when to use HDR.

I wish there were more reviews on the S20 and S20+ cameras. I know the Ultra is cool but it’s big and heavy and expensive. It’s a real stretch for me for sure.

Actually it shows on that video that 10x Zoom is great and almost completely lossless with only a slight drop in detail.

Where are you getting that from? He literally says at 10x view that "it doesn't look too bad". That doesn't scream lossless to me. At 5x optical it looks great and they say the same.

Judging from the photos I'm seeing, it might take a couple of software updates before these cameras are dialed it. There is a comparison vs the S10 cameras on Reddit and the S10 pictures are better.

The 10x hybrid zoom is lossless and is correct info. I’ve seen plenty of 10x zoom shots and all look really good!

I have seen some as well. Then on Twitter some of the leakers have shared night mode shots between the S10 and S20. The S20 shots were so much better.
They also had some regular shots between the S10 and S20 and the S20 wins out every time

I hope youre right. The S20 having a great camera will only push Google and Apple more which is a win for all of us.

Will be a few years before a 5G phone will be of any use here, areas you can get it they want a extra $15 on your plan to use it lol.
Same here, in North Scotland where I stay we were years behind with 4G when it first came out so I expect 5G to be a long way off. The UK networks are rolling out 5G but its only in the bigger towns/cities for now.

TMobile has lots of 5g ready to go.
Not legitimate 5g. What TMobile rolled out is more like juiced up LTE with speeds nowhere near 5g.

5g will take even longer to roll out due to how the technology works. The signals cover a much smaller area and have much more trouble penetrating objects if I recall correctly.

I think I read you need more masts because of the short signal length. Because of the small population in Scotland, especially the further north you go, I can see it being quite a time before I get it.

I'm happy with 4G though, for my use it provides more than adequate speeds.
