What do they mean by "announcing it in the future"? Like it is going to be delayed?

Snapdragon 8 gen 1 is definitely bringing proper improvements, with much better GPU and better performance per watt. Definitely better than the trend they had with the 865 and 888 (where performance per watt were getting worse).

Apparently some leakers are saying they will use it in a future device. Personally I’m happy with us getting the Snapdragon in the U.K. if it happens.

Do they tend to offer a higher price when trading in for pre-ordering? For example trading in the S21 Ultra for the S22 Ultra, As soon as pre-orders are available?
Imo it's market dependant. In my country, trade in value is so so, but sometimes Samsung added additional cashbacks during pre-order period. Sometimes. Nowadays, Samsung tend to promote PWP, eg. you get a discount if you also purchase the Galaxy Watch or Buds, instead of straight extra discount. I personally prefer straight extra discounts... :D

Typically yes. They've been very aggressive the past few years during preorders. If you're in the US I could see you getting anywhere from $650 to $800 for the S21 Ultra.

Yup. And in addition of offering $650-$800.. they will provide a $100-$200 instant discount during preorders. Samsung is always pushing customers to preorder to announce how much record breaking numbers they have during that period.

Yep. Samsung are the only OEM that it actually makes financial sense to preorder with. Great trade in value and instant cash towards accessories. A lot of time I've found that the trade in value they are offering is actually more than what I would get selling directly to someone, which is rare.

I would not expect the newer Pixel phones to be on the list and little iffy about the ZF3 if at all.. if they are on the list, expect low trade-in for the Pixel and no more than $900 for the fold..

Whoa that's interesting. Here's hoping my country will get Snapdragon. Samsung did release the Snapdragon version of the S20FE months after the Exynos version, but the proper Galaxy S series have been Exynos here.

Not sure about your country but am sure it won't be long until you find out. It says East Asia will get Snapdragon.

This video more or less confirms the merging of the S line and the Note. I’m so happy about this

Actually its not a merge, Samsung killed off the S line but in a good way without upsetting the fans.
The S22 Ultra is 99% Note and 1% S.

The phone is a typical Note boxy shape with a built in S pen slot and very powerful specs but surprisingly Samsung easily dropped the "Note" trade mark and call it S22 Ultra. S22 Ultra Note sounds better i guess.

Technically, they didn't kill off the S line... Samsung still plans to release the S22 and S22 Plus. Last year they didn't release any Note phones, which resulted in some Note users keeping their Note 20 Ultra and not upgrading.

I think Samsung had this plan for awhile now... to forgo a year in releasing the Note while reconstructing how they release phones going forward. S line during the 1st half of the year (mixed with a Note phone) and foldables the 2nd half.

Good point but s22 & 22+ are not the high end models like S21 Ultra which is really a monster.

I will be surprised if Samsung dropped the Note in favour of the high end S variant in the near future.

But, as always its the demand and profit that determines company marketing strategy so anything can happen. Probably next year Samsung might start making flat Note flagships to save overheads. As we all know the curved screen is 3 times more expensive than the ordinary.

I think the S22 Ultra has the potential to be the best phone Samsung has released so far. Many people were disappointed that Samsung didn’t release a Note last year, this is their chance. From all the leaks and rumours it looks as tho it’s going to be a great device.

Can’t wait for the event.

It should be. The S21 ultra was the best phone they’ve ever release IMO. If all they do with the S22 Ultra is improve the screen a little, improve the cameras a little, and add the Spen it’ll be a better device.
