Yeah, the more times you use SPay during the month, the more bonus points you earn per dollar spent. You can then use those points to redeem for gift cards or try your luck with the instant wins.

I also heard it is more widely accepted on more devices than ApplePay. I loved ApplePay but seems it didn't work on many devices.

I am hoping to try this soon as it sounds promising.

Putting a case on it leaves the indentation on the back of the phone. That makes it that much easier to find coming in with your finger from the left side. I bought a case for protection in cases I would I rather not go naked.

I fumbled a bit finding the fps in the beginning when I first bought the case but not anymore. :)

i have a hard time thinking of putting a case on this beauty but its quite slippery and a smudge magnet so going with the recommendations here on the Samsung thin clear case for the black.

Problem I have seen is it is out of stock everywhere.

I got the Otterbox symmetry clear case at BB, I rather protect my s8+ in certain situations.

I have 45 days to return it if I want and the BB mobile manager discounted it. Really does not add too much heft to the phone but the gray just is not as elegant with it.

Can't wait to try it. What I've read is that you kind of put if where you slide the card.

Yea, but not all terminals act the same. Subways terminals sometimes give me a hard time, or just won't go through. While 7 Eleven terminals pick it up super fast with 100% success rate. So just note that differ terminals might pick it up a little slower than others, and very few might not work at all.

And do you just turn it upside down with the screen facing the terminal since the fingerprint is on the back and kind of awkward?
[doublepost=1493770506][/doublepost]Anyone know why I get a text and it also shows up as an email in my work email?

The you want the back facing the terminal, and you can activate it using Fingerprint, Iris, or Pin code, which it will gives you about 15 secs to place the phone near the terminal.

This has been my experience too, and honestly keeps me from using it. Apple Pay and Android Pay both work fairly seamlessly because of the nature of NFC payment terminals. With Sammy pay, sometimes the magnetic strips are responsive, sometimes it takes forever. The latter makes me feel like a jerk when people are waiting behind me in line.

Been using Sam Pay on my gear S3 for a while and has worked great everytime thus far.

Sam Pay rewards are alright right now..I got many (VISA) gift cards ( ~$100) using points when the Note 7 came out..but haven't really seen much excitement with the S8 and rewards yet..

The blue Alcantara case on the orchid grey S8+ looks awesome.

I just for the first time checked out the Samsung S8. Being completely enveloped into Apple's ecosystem I never cared to even look at these phones.

But man, that's one beautiful phone. Can't comment much on the OS, but the bezelless curved display is a beauty. The few clicks and swipes I did, gave the impression that it runs smoothly too. Although for judging that I would need to play around with it a bit more.

Seems like Apple is being chased and at times overtaken in terms of design and innovation.

I have a strong feeling that this is the first year, that really a lot of iPhone junkies :p are switching to a new a Samsung (S8/S8+) phone. I cant remember that with previous new released Samsung phone, this amount of people switched.

I have checked several forums/polls/websites. And like really, a lot of people switched to this new S8/S8+ (or still have the iPhone 7 in a drawer now, eating dust. Like myself).

Samsung got a real Jackpot with this new phone.

Glad to hear that cases are sorting out certain issues for people - I know sticking a simply clear case on my S7 Edge eliminated 90% of accidental touches.

Gives me hope that I may still pick one up in a few months!

Other bizarre thing: was in an Apple Store this morning and a guy that worked there kept talking about how he goes over to the phone shop opposite just to play with the S8 :D He couldn't stop gushing about it.... True story!!

(I hope Apple weren't recording that dude, his ass could get fired).

But this time Apple can not just put an oled screen in their new iPhone 8, put a $1000++ tag around it and call it a day.

They need to put in some really useful(!!!) features in iOS 11 / iPhone 8. Otherwise, I am sure that current owners of the S8/S8+ will not switch back that quickly and keep their Samsung phone.

I am aware of the fact that there are loads of Apple fans who dont give a single second about new features, they only want a new iPhone every single year, even if its nearly the same as previous years (look at iPhone 6 / 6S / 7)

I checked with my renters insurance about my lost phone and it's a no go. I would had to have purchased some other more expensive option. The deductible + the extra cost probably would not have been worth it anyways. I am going to tether my phone to my body from now on. Still no luck in locating my phone at all either. The phone has not come online once since I lost it.

Yes they can imo. Apple made the iPhone 6 screen larger and sold record numbers of them. Once apple gets rid of bezels people will flock to it.

I am definitely one of those people but depends on if we see a redesign or not this time I am thinking.

I am blown away by my experience on the S8+ for the couple days I have had it. I also owe it an apology as making it my daily phone with the OS has been a much better experience than years past and it has definitely improved.

I had the S7E last year for about 2 weeks and returned it as it never gelled with me. This phone and all the little tweaks and small touches of detail have really blown me away.

Small things like the always on display, the multiple options to unlock the phone, the edge display lighting up when playing music, the subtle pop in and pop out text notifications, the ability to have a short cut AND the app in a different area, the widgets...I can go on and on as a new Android phone owner coming from Apple.

It's just been a fantastic experience.

It's not all golden pots of honey though. I really miss iMessage, I really miss the typing experience on my iPhone with its wider footprint, and the 7+ battery is the best in the game when matched with ios.

Minor things but keeps this phone at a 9.5 versus a true 10 for me. Now I wait and see if the dreaded 6 month slow down comes as is the history with Samsung devices at least for me in the past.

I am a fan of always on display, hopefully apple does the same on the 8 or whatever they call it.

By wider footprint do you mean the 7 Plus screen is wider than the S8 Plus?

Does anyone know what I'd miss out on by buying an international version of the S8+ to use on T-Mobile? I seem to recall Samsung pay may not work, VoLTE may not work, and WiFi calling may not work. The only one that would bother me is VoLTE but I recall this one may have been available on the S7 international version on T-Mobile.

Not that I want to spend $900 on another phone after having just lost one, but let's just say I have an awesome wife. :)

Yes, correct.

The 7+ is a wider device which makes for a more comfortable typing experience at least for me. I feel the keyboards that I have tried and my speed and accuracy is really low on the S8+ compared to the 7+.

Take that with a grain of salt though after 2 days and still getting used to the device and trying multiple keyboards.

Both are 2.7in wide but s8+ is 0.8in taller. In terms of screen area s8+ is bigger by about 20%
