Not my cup of tea - Samsung devices rarely are and I was not a huge lover of the S8 / + design.

These look exactly the same, except for the rear FPS and I am really quite annoyed to see them pulling an Apple like stunt, and making the larger device the one with the seemingly greater camera experience.

What is up with that?

How else do you want samsung to differentiate a plus model? To charge an extra 100 dollars for?

Bigger screen
Bigger battery
2gb more ram
Dual camera
Etc.

It's a 3 tier option
S9
S9+
Note 9

I hope it's for pricing reasons.

The regular S9 better not be more than $700.

They are really trying to push people to the S9+. In the next 2-3years I will not be surprised to see the regular sized device become more of a mid end product or completely removed, I think the latter is more likely.

Well seeing as I have more of a preference for smaller phones these days, I find the likes of Samsung's S8/9 Plus and iPhones Plus models too big for my tastes.

So do you think that me, as a tech enthusiast who wants a phone with a fantastic camera should have to either just deal with the fact that choosing the smaller model won't provide as good an experience, or fork out more for a phone that is unsuitable due to how big it is just to get a feature that really should be available for both?

This '3 tier option' you quote is not the way it should be. Either make a smaller phone that is one on its own (like an SE) or keep your flagship devices the same apart from the obvious bigger screen / battery. Speaking as a consumer, those should be the only differences and customers should not be discriminated against for choosing the smaller device.

They are really hyping the camera, it must really be a step up. Samsung is always at the top of the pack with cameras though so not surprising

The new camera annihilates every smartphone camera in low light situations.
Looking foward to see what Apple is going to do about it.

How do you know this? I didnt see any proof of this, Im sure it will be great and should be the best but "annihilates" seems like hyperbole. Hopefully it will though, that will just make everyone else up their game which is good for consumers no matter which phone you use

Watching the unpacked event when they showed the low light picture taken live.

Samsung just topped Apple's Animojis. :p
Unfortunately the motion tracking is awful compared to Apple's...

Well then it doesnt have all the new features, I would say dual lens is a good feature if not one of the better ones

Ugh at all this duplicate app crap, Samsung would be so much better if they ditched all the extra bloat

The dual lens is not new. It was on the note 8 and is not new to smartphone industry. Super slo mo and variable aperture is new.

Better not be? Woah cowboy you have no power to dictate to Samsung what things better or better not be. Give someone a keyboard and they think they are emperor Nero.
