TMobile announced today and starting today they are sending out updates for the S9 and S9+. There will be some security patches and other bug fixes. The S9 update will he 343 mb and the S9+ will be 373 mb.
My guess is that comes from Samsung and TMobile does their thing with it before it gets sent out.

Thanks, it was released today... well yesterday now... lol. 2 builds... security updates, and stability of face unlock + stability of camera has been improved. Installed it yesterday. :)

Ignorance is bliss in this case!

I have the factory unlocked version, so I'll be further behind.

I like the X a lot. Just so expensive. The fact most apps cost, and that I like to sync via a computer, and finally it memorizes my apps and it is harder to transfer back to the iphone from droid is what killing me.
If I could mirror my phone X from my Samsung I would be happy.

Only problem I got is it does not transfer my music which originally came from Itunes. Or my call log (no big deal). It can do text and contacts which is great and pic and vids but I want my notes and bookmarks. That all has to be entered manually. (I swear this has been a tough decision) very tough.

I'll be going back to my iPhone 8+ because Samsung continues to give me screen tap issues.

The typing experience is much better on Apple. I can type quick and freely on the Samsung it shows a lot of errors....
so you knocking out the Samsung that quick as well?

Yeah because I see some missed taps still. This device is better than the rest, but I don't have time to charge my card constantly hoping for a flawless screen.

That type of response makes me sad. We should expect better from companies. And if we pay 700-900$ for a device, we should be allowed to complain without it being referred to as bitching.

Yep, Samsung and I cannot really co-exist. Love the hardware features and software features. But the slight missed taps reminds me of my old iPhone SE, and that aggravates me. Idk if I am being picky, but I just don't feel like spending $725 without being completely comfortable.

I have a factory unlocked version and I was like some others over 10 days ahead of the last update ie 11 days back I got the 2nd update

Have you actually run a screen tap test application to see if there is a physical fault ?

Yep, it passed that aspect. I really don't have the patience to deal with Samsung now because they told me no definitive timeframe to give me the original price I paid, I have no software update they could do to fix a possible software bug, and I have no interest in repairing a device that is so new in its infancy.

Unlocked s9+ exynos here, security patch March 2018. Personally I don’t think that’s bad at all.
Well poop. I have an AT&T S9+ and it's still on the February security patch. Sigh.

In happier news, through no action of my own, my camera lag is gone. I have no idea why or how. I may never know.:eek:

Maybe it's feeling put on notice because I've been eyeballing those red iPhones. :D

It's pretty hard to detect on the S9/9+ even if you did know what to look for. Since you don't want to know I won't tell you. ;)

I only know because I also own a Pixel 2 and it's really bad and in your face on those phones. I love my Pixel 2 anyway. An amazing phone. I have no regrets over buying it!

I could force myself to use this for awhile, but I also don't feel like I can trust Samsung because of the three devices in a row and the fact it cost $725 at least. The taps issues aren't as frequent on the S9+, but still an annoyance. Idk if I will go back, but about 85% sure I will go to my iPhone 8+.

I think given how much negativity you seem to have with Samsung..... you should stick with iPhones.

iPhone for now, but idk about the OnePlus 6, HTC U12+, Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, Pixel 3 down the road.

PS, I think maybe I am overreacting with the taps, but it isn't as fluid as other phones I have used. I really love the hardware and software still.

I agree, it is not the smoothest... that is the only downside. I do feel that the Samsungs are a bit more rugged.

I almost wish I knew this "taps" issue you're dealing with. Is it something to do with typing or does it crop up in other apps?

My experience with the display is that as long as I don't attempt to use a display protector, the display is fully responsive to all touches.

I'm currently using the Samsung keyboard. I have the Google one installed as well. I switch back and forth between them. Neither one is perfectly easy to use, but both are still very good for me and register most of my touches correctly. The Samsung one was really weird when I first got the phone, but they must have fixed it in the last update. I am no longer experiencing bizarre autocorrection attempts. I find I'm able to switch comfortably between typing on my S9+ keyboard and my iPhone 8 plus keyboard. My Pixel 2 keyboard is a bit narrower so going back to that one always takes me a few minutes to adjust to.

Seriously, Sammy have done a good job with this one, the level of refinement is noticeably high

I wish I could say the same..3 faulty devices is beyond even my patience!

I am seriously missing the Dolby Atmos audio and camera from the S9+ !

I still have my launch day S9.. apart from the one off BSoD incident the experience has been flawless.

No screen issues at all.. no touch issues.. no black crushing..

Nevertheless I'm still monitoring the BSoD.. fingers crossed.

The tap issue is having to retap the send button a few times to send a text, to go to another website, or even searching through apps like Slickdeals.net.

I think I recall you having issues over previous Samsung phones as well, its clear you don't like Samsung phones so hopefully we wont see you do the same thing again when the Note 9 or S10 is released, just stick to your iPhone. Ive owned the S7, S8+ and S9+ and none of them have had a single issue, funny that.

That’s odd. Hmm.??? Maybe you’re accidentally hitting your nails on the display instead of your fingertips? Even people with almost no nails to speak of could end up doing that. It’s actually something I’ve done more often when I’ve cut my nails down to nothing. With longer nails, like I have currently, I angle my fingertips differently to ensure I hit the display. There’s basically no choice.

I’m not sure it’s a dislike of Samsung phones. I’ve had runs of odd luck with Samsung myself. That’s why my purchase of a S9+ was me giving Samsung one last shot to wow me. Which it has.

Yeah that sucks. Hopefully everything was backed up.
[doublepost=1523751677][/doublepost]Just out of curosity, has anyone used swype on their Samsung?
I find when I try and type the letter I and swype to the space bar it does not give me a capital I nor does it give a space. Any correction for single letters like A & I?

Well strange it passed the physical test, still it seems you have several issues going on that some are not about hardware so I can understand your frustration

I agree not acceptable , but it happens, I always remember some chap in the rMB forum was on his 20th return now that's patience :D

Maybe I am just lucky but never had any issues in over 20 years of mobiles still I hope you find an easy solution
