That’s odd. Hmm.??? Maybe you’re accidentally hitting your nails on the display instead of your fingertips? Even people with almost no nails to speak of could end up doing that. It’s actually something I’ve done more often when I’ve cut my nails down to nothing. With longer nails, like I have currently, I angle my fingertips differently to ensure I hit the display. There’s basically no choice.

I’m not sure it’s a dislike of Samsung phones. I’ve had runs of odd luck with Samsung myself. That’s why my purchase of a S9+ was me giving Samsung one last shot to wow me. Which it has.

I had a family member try it out and noticed the same issue. Nails don't seem to do anything with it. Slickdeals works fine on older devices like the S8+ or Note 8. Idk why my luck because I actually wanted this to work out since Samsung has top notch hardware and software features.

I know quite a few of you are heavily into wearables but todays front page posting just reinforces my thoughts on not opting for single source OEM's for so called Eco advantages that can easily be outweighed.

It would not be so bad if it was an actual recall, but another smoke and mirrors fix

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ries-2-models-with-swollen-batteries.2115012/

Still I liked the posting on the newish Tag Heuer 41mm :D, pricy but smart and no more if you have already gone through a S1, S2 and S3 watch LOL and can even see it's days out standalone or as a mechanical

Yeah I commented there. My frustration with wearables is there are very few of them I would want to wear. I’m a petite woman. I’m something of a “tomboy” and have some rugged hobbies like landscaping. Nevertheless, the reality of my physicality, for lack of a better way of stating it is, I’m small and feminine even when dressed up in work boots and jeans and a T-shirt. I’m basically in the Sally Field, Valerie Bertinelli mold, according to people who have said over the years I remind them of those ladies. So...Small, perky, a human chipmunk. Lord knows how I’ve stood up to gang members and neighborhood drug thugs and wandering stray pit bulls looking like Gidget, but maybe I look like a psychopathic Gidget. Or a Chuckie doll—he’s not very big but who’d want to run into him. Who knows. When I channel my inner grump I am told I’m really scary.

Anyway, I look and feel ridiculous in all of these smart watches that really are designed for dudes. Even though there are some taller, larger women who could pull the look off and still look beautiful. I’m not the type that could.

I’m kind of stuck with Apple Watches. Until these companies really sincerely try to make something that is as functional and sleek as the Apple Watch is. Yeah I know it’s a fat chiclet held together with chewing gum. But it’s sleek compared to the alternatives. When the alternatives are sleek, I find they lack the full load of features the Apple Watch offers.

Yeah that sucks. Hopefully everything was backed up.
[doublepost=1523751677][/doublepost]Just out of curosity, has anyone used swype on their Samsung?
I find when I try and type the letter I and swype to the space bar it does not give me a capital I nor does it give a space. Any correction for single letters like A & I?
It wasn't a big issue.. a reboot fixed the BSoD.. no data lost etc.

It's playing well with the Gear Sport as well.. so I'm optimistic!

I'm thinking about to switch to the S9 from the iPhone X. But I would like to know how "fast" and "lag-free" did you find the S9. Someone made the switch from an iPhone and does not (yet) regret this?

I would wait for iOS 12 to come out. Reason being the X might be lag free and Samsung deals will be more frequent.

Well I am no lumberjack and have skinny wrists for a chap. Like you I find very few good watches are available in the 38mm to 42mm range other than a few by Brietling, Cartier and Longines and even then its the unisex models that maybe too large for you

I looked at the S3 frontier yesterday its like a saucer on my wrist and I found a few Tag Heuer Connected today but with the wife peering over my shoulder I feigned indifference :D for now and did not try the new smaller 41mm. There is rumoured a 39mm one on the way which sounds good but you still have to consider the size of the lugs

Watches for men are supposed to be larger.
Small watches are for women.

I didn't have lag on the N8 or on the S9+. Not everyone experiences are the same.
If you have had such bad experiences with Samsung phones....why not just stick with iphones......

I was making general statements about the S series. S7 was laggy with the Nougat update too. You need Nova Launcher and to lower the animation speed to get better usage out of a Galaxy. I lowered the animation speed on my S9+ to make it speedier.

Well strange it passed the physical test, still it seems you have several issues going on that some are not about hardware so I can understand your frustration
[doublepost=1523756120][/doublepost]

I agree not acceptable , but it happens, I always remember some chap in the rMB forum was on his 20th return now that's patience :D

Maybe I am just lucky but never had any issues in over 20 years of mobiles still I hope you find an easy solution
Sounds more like OCD to me. I know some are a lot pickier than others when it comes to using devices. One dude in here that i cant recall his username, he was taking his iPhone back multiple times because the buttons werent flush enough for him with the device or because he thought they moved too much and were flimsey. Apple should have told him to go use something else because thats just ridiculous. Granted this was way back and i dont know if Apple is as compliant as they were then.

As for me, ive never had an issue either but im not picky at all. Well ok, my first Galaxy phone, the Vibrant, i had it for two years and by the time i got rid of it for a S3, it was slow. So i guess i had that issue but im not one to complain about a slight lag or things like that. Benchmarks are meaningless to me but the Vibrant did develope lag but those werent near as powerful as they are now.

Even if they make that watch 39 mm, it's a style that is a bit too rugged or masculine for a lot of my outfits. Still, it might be worth a look. Those watches sure are gorgeous.

Wow, I think my S9+ is very speedy. I had the camera lag for a few days but that seems to have passed. Not sure what caused it but it likely was one of the photo editing apps I tried. My S8+ had been laggy and stutter very early on. I had that animation lag you're talking about. I was so relieved to see that's not the case with my S9+

I'm very happy with this phone.

Oh my God...my kid just said "I was about to ask you if you were allowed to use your phone in middle school. Then I realized that was a stupid question and you're as old as dirt.":cool: She is looking over my shoulder and stuck the sunglasses emoji on.

Okay, we've just been trolled by my middle-schooler. She had been complaining that she needs to fix her friend's iPhone but they aren't allowed to bring their phones to school.

Whew. She's finally left the room. Where was I? Oh yes, I like this phone. A lot. I am really excited to see what they do with the Note 9 this year, given that the Note 8 has been rock solid for so many people. I think they did what they needed to do to refine the S8+ into the S9+

The refinement I would like to see to the S9/9+ going forward would be to battery life. That's the Achilles heel for me.

The S9+ feels even speedier because of lowering animations. It wasn't bad before the adjustment either.

Ah one thing I realised I hadn't tried on this phone was putting the resolution to its highest setting. I can't believe i forgot to try that. Especially since often I can detect the difference.

Whoa  it's smooth like butter with the way the text looks on the background. I don't notice any slowdowns yet, either.

The forum emojis look a little blurry, though.

According to other users, their frames drop. For me, I haven't noticed frame drops. Buttery smooth performance so far outside of the issues with taps.

Subjective and everybody is different. I'm not a fan of watches and don't wear one but those Tag Haur imo are the ugliest watches on the market. To me they just look like a divers watch of sorts with a big price tag. I certainly don't hate them or care that anybody has one I'm just saying to me they aren't impressive looking but again, I'm just not a fan of watches and wouldn't know a expensive one from a cheap one by looking at them.

Oh I like the rugged divers style watches on men. If I were taller and bigger myself I would wear a small one. But as it is, I'd look a bit odd. Well more odd than I already look. :p

Note 8 is a very solid device. It is just a big too big and simply a matter if you prefer android or ios.

Anyone who has switched back to android that used the Move To IOS app?
If so what was the outcome?
