I completely understand desiring another option under the foldable series addressing Ultra level camera technology, but I was discussing the current structure of it now.
Critics complaining about the Z Fold should have the Ultra camera at its current price point… yet, neglecting everything else including in a foldable phone that results in that higher price tag. A foldable inner screen (120hz), cover screen (120hz), 3 sets of cameras (inner selfie, outer selfie and main camera) and most importantly the whole paradigm given that it’s a 2 in 1.

IMO unless you REALLY want the folding capabilities; that's a real backwards step over tech and camera capabilities to say the least
The 14 Pro Max is a significantly superior phone. I have a flip 4 as my secondary phone and while I love it, it’s not on the same level.
The cameras are not as good, and this will be obvious immediately. The screen is smaller and a little bit worse (crease, not as bright). The battery life is worse. No point changing imo.
Mind you, I fully plan to swap my flip 4 for a 5 if Samsung gives me a decent trade-in value. If you started from scratch looking for a phone, I would recommend the Flip which is a very, very nice phone, and I bought mine for substantially less than the headline price not long after launch (Nov 2022), when it was already far cheaper than an iPhone Pro 14.
PS: alas, I just checked, Samsung will give me CHF250 for my Flip 4. That‘s not nearly enough…

do Samsung Folds come with preinstalled screen protectors like we get on their Galaxy slab phones?
I will trade in my GW4 classic for the GW6 classic. The screen is larger and pretty much the same size overall. I saw the F5 and love the blue color but the camera is important for me and its not worth the upgrade. My S23U has me covered and I'll keep my F4 until the 6 or 7.
Yes, for the inner display. I recently took mine off.. it started peeling, need to get a screen new protector. If I’m not mistaken, Fold users get a free replacement.
But, no outer/cover screen replacement.

Yeah, I seen SamMobile wrote about that. I don't have a horse in the race on that subject... I know some Flip users want the ability to use DeX.
But I can understand it from Samsung perspective... they believe the Flip is a compact device and DeX is not apart of the discussion. And perhaps cooling could be the reason its not available for it... having it in a closed position using DeX for extended hours (especially with gaming).

I really like the update for the flip 5. That display now is very much useable and the widgets available seem really good. I’m actually tempted to get the flip for some reason. Or try it at least
Fold 5 was what expected and disappointing overall. New chip, brighter and new hinge but certainly not worth the upgrade for most people. Certainly given how bad the trade ins are here.

That flip 5 definitely looks like a winner with that outside display... I can see people getting more done with it closed while on the go.. especially with good lock you could bring all the apps to the outside screen
