Honestly, you just gotta use it to understand why so many who have one, don't care to go back to their big slab phone. The reviewer in the video explains it the same way. He just didn't see the point of the flip form factor until he owned one. My Nike gym shorts have pockets big enough to hold a regular slab phone, but the top of the phone would stick out, and there's no way I'd put a big slab like my Note 10 in those pockets as there's no way the phone is staying in there. Gym shorts pockets are loose, and the material is very thin. So there's no way the phone is staying in those pockets as you move around, especially while laying on a bench. But all these types of shorts have a smaller zippered pocket, and that's where the flip result fits in with room to spare. Never worry about the phone slipping out. This is only one real world example. As I was saying once you use it, you start to understand it.
60 years of the fashion industry has dictate many folding personal accessories eg wallets

Or do everyone never fold their currency lol

IMO the large format slabs should never evolved if folding technology had been available earlier :D

Cause not everyone wants to deal with a large slab all the time.

At the moment, I carry both the 14PM and S23U. The S23U is my secondary phone line, and it's size is starting to feel cumbersome. So I'm trading it in for the Flip 5 pre order. The larger external display makes it very appealing this time around. I don't have to open it for every little thing.
So you're very much a special user case carrying 2 max-sized phones around.

I don't take my phone into the gym with me...😛

I love the look of this new flip.
I would be tempted to try one, but I think I’m going all in on a Pixel Fold.

I really like the look of it. It’s a shame there’s no Spotify support for the outer display. Do we know if it supports any music playback and does it show album artwork?
I think I’ve seen media controls but it seems to be for Samsungs own music app (presuming that still exists?) which is part of the reason I don’t like Samsung phones. The duplication of apps. That could be something they fixed a while ago though, I haven’t used one in ages.

I’m so tempted to have this phone as a nice backup..love the outer area …

I’m not sure on music I should’ve tested in store though doubt it would help with the retail mode

certainly makes that display so much more usable. I mean you can even use Netflix on it. dunno if you can use twitter on it...oops I mean X

I’m sure Twitter would be good but I’d love to test drive it …going to have to make a pit stop by retail store maybe get one of the reps to help me test it

Yes, I'm a special user case. But plenty people would like to minimize the carry size of their only or main phone, without sacrificing a decent sized display and dealing with older specs. I'm just doing the same for my second phone.

You can run any app on the cover screen with Samsung's Good Lock App.

Is the Z Flip5 512GB with 2 years Samsung Care+ and a Galaxy Watch Classic 47mm for £1022 after discounts a good price from Samsung UK?

I’m half tempted to try the flip.

Have to decide if I should keep my order for the Fold 5 or cancel it. Mostly being held back by things like Digital Car Key seeming to take ages to get support when a new Android phone is launched and I use that exclusively. As well as Samsung having what seems to be very poor customer service in case the phone breaks, I really can’t be without the phone for weeks if it were to break and for people over here it seems they need multiple repairs each one taking a month.

Well, looks like the Flip 5 DOES have video out over USB, but still doesn't have dex. Wonder if this can be added with a software update?

Why dont you just get a phone that can use 2 Sim cards and use 2 numbers? Id think that would be better than carrying around two big phones, ....but thats me.

I used to do that. Tired it on iPhone and Samsung.

But I just like two phones and both platforms on me better. There's pros from both platforms I don't wanna be without. And my love for tech doesn't have me making the most logical choices. 😂

Also, maybe being in my 40s is starting to get to me, but choosing which line to make calls and messages from gets annoying after awhile. And battery life takes a noticeable hit, especially when both lines are from two differ carriers.
Having two phones is just simpler vs juggling two lines on the same device.

Sometimes, if I'm going out for half the day. I would leave my iPhone at home since my AWU will pick up the calls and messages.

I like the bigger front screen on the Motorola better. Not sure what SS does better on theirs than Motorola. Same price i believe. Either one is cool, but just a bit bigger screen on the Moto. So tempted! And im sure i can get a better trade in on the SS. Moto only offers $150 for my P7.

Yeah Moto did a great job with theirs I’d personally get a Samsung every time just me though …I rather Samsung UI and tweaks although Moto is clean …updates and camera to me are better with Samsung along with future trade in

I rather carry two phones ..I did the two sim thing with my Android side when I was test driving T-Mobile service while with Verizon and not for me …haha I would definitely do it if away on vacation though…and I enjoy having both OS daily …once ya carry two phones it’s second nature

Just saw the Fold5 and Flip5 in person, and all I can say is, these easily come across as two of the most premium looking and feeling phones I've seen. Even though they only had the mint and graphite on display, they had sample back plates for all 4 colors. Glad I went with cream color, wife finally decided on the mint, now that she was able to set it in person. That being said, after seeing the Watch 6 Classic, I think I'm trading in my Watch 4 Classic. This is me just blowing money for the heck of it, since I've been wearing my watches less and less lately. But dayyumm that bigger screen on both the Flip5 and Watch 6 Classic.

I have order the Flip 5 and the Classic 47mm blind. Both the black versions. I hope I’m not disappointed. The reviews and pictures online look amazing. Here’s hoping.
