Well.. How many phones have micro instead of nano?

Samsung "A" series
Samsung Galaxy Alpha
Galaxy Gear S

Suggests Samsung is going the Nano route.

Where Apple and Samsung go the industry will follow.

Samsung Note 4 or iPhone 6 Plus? Foot in Each Camp...

Got a black 32GB

So far ... Only thing I dislike so far is the non-notification on a lock screen ... Not as great as the iPhone

And this is another thing to like about Android: if there's something about it you don't like, there's almost certainly an app that'll get you around it.

Regarding the question about volume on the Note 4 earpiece, I'll at least say I haven't noticed any issues with call volume. It's better--and clearer--than my old Samsung GS3. (I've also yet to have a dropped call, even in the areas that were problematic for the old phone.)

I'm about 95% sure I'm keeping it, and if I didn't, I don't know what else I'd even get. It's just a great phone.

Yeah I found the 6+ was lacking a bit. It wasn't bad, just not as good as previous iphones. The Note 4 has a great earpiece speaker, a moderate amount better than the 6+ IMO.

I find it very good. No one has had problems with hearing me and I have not had problems hearing them even in some quite noisy places.

Hey! Glad to hear you took the plunge, you won't regret it. I have had this phone since release and I still have new gadget love for it. Oddly enough, since I got the white one, I have had the occasional person ask me if it's the new iPhone. I don't get snarky about it, I figure if they have to ask they aren't that tech savvy.

In case anyone actually reads this far still looking for information on the original topic, I thought I'd share a few of my thoughts on the Note 4 thus far. Keep in mind, I've never had an iPhone, so this is not really a comparison--just some (rather long and rambling) impressions.

1. Battery life is good. I don't have an objective measurement, but I'm able to leave "Ok, Google" and GPS on at all times and still get a day's worth of music streaming, phone calls, etc.

3. The S-Pen was one of my reasons for buying the phone, which had me all nervous about it: I was very afraid it'd turn out to be no more than a party trick, or a "meh, it's OK now and again" thing, and I'd regret making it a decision point.

However, a few nights ago I found out you can use it for text entry pretty much everywhere: just hover over the text field and click on the pop-up "T." And it actually translates my horribly messy *cursive* without a hitch probably 95% of the time. Has occasional issues with punctuation marks, but other than that, just about spot on.

6. I wasn't expecting much from the fingerprint reader: I've heard too many negatives. It does work relatively OK, but there are some frustrating and puzzling aspects. First of all, why just three fingers? I ended up doing right thumb and index and just my left thumb, since using my left index is awkward most of the time, but four would be a much more logical number of prints to hold. And though I'm usually able to make it work after a try or two, it's still enough of a hassle I may just go back to a swipe pattern or pin. This is another aspect where I'm eyeing the iPhone users with envy.

7. I really need to spend more time learning the camera. For still shots in just about any light, it does quite well, but when I tried to take some pictures of my nieces and nephews playing on Christmas Eve, anything that was moving even the littlest bit blurred, and some things looked overly sharpened. In contrast, (older) iPhone pictures taken in the same lighting look grainy, but at least not blurred. I know some conditions just aren't going to be overcome by a cell phone camera, but I'd still hoped for better.

It does capture great detail, and I'm pleased with the colors, for the most part. Like I said, I need to spend more time with it.

All in all, although I'm still keeping my return window in mind, I think the pros outweigh the cons. The main things I think iPhone has and I don't are the fingerprint reader, Siri, and decent audio recording capabilities.

But I'd have a hard time letting go of the S-Pen--not to mention another two hundred and fifty dollars!

I'm a noob when it comes to camera settings and such, you guys can feel free to suggest settings or tips on what I could do.

FWIW, I saw this pretty good video on 10 things you may not know about your Note 4 and one of the things mentioned was that if you go to your camera mode and scroll through the various features ie: night mode etc at the very end there is a download arrow, if you touch on that it will take you to a few additional modes such as "sport" mode which should help capture fast or any motion shots. And a few others you may want. There is also the downloadable portion when you go into your filters etc.

Hope this helps.

Earpiece is plenty loud. But if you're ever in a really loud area and need an extra bit of volume, there's a button to tap to get a volume boost while in a call. Handy feature.

I have both phones now.
I think the Iphone 6 Plus fits better my needs and i will return the Note 4.

The Battery on the 6 Plus is better, especiallly the standby time.
Speaker on 6 Plus is louder and has more depth.
Camera is also great on Note 4 for capturing objects which are not moving, but when i try to take pictures from my kids, the pics are blurry, also in sport mode.
The Cam from the 6 Plus is much faster, i take good pictures in every situation.

Performance on the 6 Plus is also smoother, i hate the waiting for the app switcher on the note 4.
The Display is great on both Phones, iPhone has better whites, Note 4 better blacks and more vivid colors.
The S-Pen is nice to have, but i only used it a few times.

I like Android more than iOS but all Google Apps are available on the iPhone and new Apps are still earlier available on iOS than on Andoid.

I use both phones without case and the iphone feels nicer but is more slippery. One handes mode is better on Note 4.
I will take Apple AppleCare+, so i am safe when something happens :D

What do other owners from both phones think, am i right?

Don't use the dedicated sport mode as it'll only use somewhat faster shutter speeds (around 1/50s) instead of the ISO-minimizing 1/8s...1/30s. Use dialed-in, high ISO's (400/800 or, if using third-party apps as is otherwise recommended by me if you're on Snapdragon, 1600) for motion freezing.

This is the problem, i don't want to use third party apps or change iso settings, even switching between automatic and sport mode is to much for me.

I want a automatic mode which delivers great pictures in every situation, i think there is no android phone at the moment which is good at this (before 6 Plus i had One M8, Z2, S5, OPO)

Yesterday evening i have tried to take a picture from my wife with the note 4, it took 3-4 seconds after i pressed the shutter. Tried the same with the 6 Plus and it took the picture immediately.

I'd say that sums it up. Slightly better battery life on iphone, slightly better smoothness on iphone, displays equal but different, camera MUCH better on the iPhone.

Is the iPhone camera better in good lighting outdoors?

My 6 plus Is good in low light /indoors where my S5 would have been crap.

However outside I think that the S5 took better pics than my 6 plus.

They are pretty close in outdoor, still lighting, I'd even give the nod to the Note 4, it takes beautiful pictures. But with movement or in a room that's not well lit the Note 4 falls behind very quickly in my experience. Macro shots also don't do well with the Note 4.

I agree macro shots were definitely hit and miss on the S5. This is probably the best macro I ever got with the S5.

I think the S5/note 4 edge the 6 plus outdoors because they can capture more detail.

Check the PocketNow comparison or the many other comparison videos on YouTube.

Personally, Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It is one of the best all-around smartphones out there no worse than Top 3. I was checking out the iPhone 6 Plus yesterday and comparing the size of it to my Xiaomi Mi 3. It isn't as bulky as I thought. I think the width and thinness offset the awkwardness. Actually most people who complain about LARGE phones probably came from a much smaller phone prior. I needed more adjustment going from iPhone 4/Nexus One to HTC One M7 with the 2cm more in height. But I say the limit should be Nexus 6 size and nomore.

Going back on topic, I would choose Note 4 because it has features really built to act like a tablet like multi-app windows. Also, I use gesture swipes for shortcuts which makes things easier to navigate. Apps like All In One Gestures, Nova Launcher Prime, and Swipe Home Button are not found on iOS. Yeah, iOS8 is much cleaner and nicer than TouchWiz. But feature for feature, Note 4 still wins like S-Pen, removable battery, heart sensor, etc.

I'm so freaking confused on which phone to get even after reading this thread. I'm think the Note Edge, Note 4 or 6S. I know people who use both Samsungs but not the 6S and they like the Samsung Edge and Note 4.
