Yeap, but at least the Pixel and Note prices will drop, no chance of that for the iPhone..

Thankfully it's been kept at retail price in the U.K. Sim Free

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/sa...70823#!colour=black&capacity=64GB&dealType=sf

But it does seem a costly device on contract, if the iPhone 8 is £1100 or more and up, I can't see it selling very well because it'll be more expensive on contract. We will see.
[doublepost=1503553697][/doublepost]

We need to wait and see, these story's of 64GB and the price are literally just stories, people guessing at present. Not long till we know what Apple has actually done. So keep that glimmer of hope going for a bit longer :)

Well it's rumoured the iPhone 8 will have a 512GB option. God knows what that will cost

Maybe going for 512GB will give people a better chance to get one on release day as not loads would take it at that price

I think that would be the higher end that's rumoured to cost around $1,200 - $1,300 but most people will probably go for the 256GB version that may well cost around $1,100 while a 64GB would be $1000, personally i would go for the 256GB because i have the 128GB iPhone 7 Plus and i love having more storage for Apple Music downloads, photo's some videos more apps and so on.

well I have the 256GB 7 plus and I have 48GB left. So 256GB should be fine for me again. got 57 left on my ipad pro which is also 256GB

It is on display at my Best Buy, ymmv.

I need to run some errands first then I am coming back to the store to have some fun with it. Some people were ahead of me looking at it so I’ll be back to report.

Absolutely love the note series, but even though I pre-ordered I have to say, this is a mildly exciting time. They need to do more to make the note standout. The s8+ is not a bad value all things considered.
I realize not much they can do to innovate, but geez at least talk about bluetooth 5 and all the cool things you can do with the note that you cant with the iPhone.

Who are you trying to convince ? ;)

Well, looks like it isn't going to happen. Spoke to both Best Buy and AT&T today and it seems like that deal is only good through Samsung, and with them I can only buy full price, can't get on a payment plan. So I would have the pay the $1,000 up front and then get a rebate for the $425, but after spending $750 on the essential phone and camera, I can't do that right now. I have until September 30th to get that deal, but it's doubtful as I'll probably be ordering the iPhone 8 as well.

Just as well, Im just not that excited about the new Note, a combination of the curved edges, mega tall body, and fingerprint sensor just about kills my enthusiasm for it. Maybe next year when they get rid of the top and bottom bezels.

a better place
Got a phone call from my carrier today offering me an early upgrade to the Note 8 for €450 up front ...

Got to admit I was tempted, and I think had the device had a flat screen I would have bitten his hand off just for the use of a sketching notebook, but I restrained myself ....

You are not understanding. $425 is an instant rebate when you check out for trading in any of those phones. You can finance it through samsung for $21 a month after the $425 discount.

Here is what mine looks like.

Not eligible to finance through Samsung, already tried. And the $1,000 price stayed on up to the point where I had to enter my credit card info, at that point I stopped. I figured they would be shipping me a rebate.

Edit: Nevermind, just tried again and this time it shows it as instant. Weird, last night it wasn't showing as instant.

I have resisted the urge as well.....Hasn't been easy mind you. As most would know from my history here. I am a Samsung fan all the way. But I want to see it in person to make sure it is not too narrow.....and hate the FPS location.

Did not get much of a play with it, it kept kicking back to retail mode and batteries on both displayed were each at 10% with no one around to get them charged further.

I have a s8+, I am not inclined to thrown down on the Note 8 at these prices. I can understand why someone would go for it though. :)

Did it seem wider than the S8+ or did it feel like the same phone to you? I am going to check BB after work today :)

The Note 7 body fits entirely in the Note 8. So screen width is not a problem.

Got some hands on time at BB.

Quick take: squarer version of an S8 Plus. That's either good or bad depending on end user. I'm okay with it. Difference in the hand is negligible.

The device does seem more fluid than my S8 Plus but it was a brand spankin new unit just put out for demo so who knows.

Didn't play with the SPen much.

If you have an S8 Plus, unless you love the stylus, I really don't see the upgrade need unless you're insane like me.

Did you give the camera a try?
