You've stated previously that you're not a fan of Sammy's RAM management. I know the Note has 6gb but I don't know that will negate their OS over-managing RAM again (4 is still plenty, and they felt the need with the S8). Has that changed for you?
I don't know. I would need to use one in a store and see if it can keep more than half a dozen apps open without forced content refreshes.
I really am in no rush to buy at all, and it's 4th on the list of devices I am interested in. I have plenty of time to see real world tests and feedback here and on XDA.
Whilst I would certainly say the extra 2gb in theory should increase ram performance, however the problem with the S8 was that Samsung closed / emptied ram cache early, even whilst the system manager was saying there was plenty of user ram free.
So if that remains the case, that Samsung have still got the aggressive early ram cull, then the extra 2gb may make only a very small difference that still falls behind other OEM's who handle ram better. (Even with less ram).
We will see in time, and if it turns out ram management is not sufficiently better to appease me to justify a €999 device (€450 if I decide to extend my contract 24 months) then fair enough, it's just not for me.
It could indeed feasibly end up being a case that NO phone will be making my fall/winter shopping list. To be frank it's not really a major deal as I still have my Pixel, G6 & 7+ and there is nothing really wrong with any of them forcing me to change.

Supplementally...
Out of interest as I haven't checked specs but is the Note8 in Europe exynos too ?
Edit .... yes it's exynos for Europe.
