Is OK Google actually waking device from sleep because Samsung disabled that ability on past devices and the S8/8+. You had to actually wake the screen first and say OK Google on the S8 otherwise saying OK Google with device in standby screen off did nothing.

Yes, it wakes up from sleep. My phone could be on stand-by for hours, if I say "Okay Google" the display would turn on. I disabled trusted voice unlock though.

That's great news.

Hopefully they roll this out for other samsung devices like the S8 as it was well overdue.

Just tried and mine unlocked!!!! Went to find the settings asap to turn off unlocking. Now when I do it it wakes up, but stays locked and a notification regarding trusted voice pops up!

I posted in the not 8 v iPhone 8 thread about the tallness, how is it in real life use? Looks a nice phone, enjoy.
It is really tall, that's the main reason I didn't get one for myself, this will be the wife's phone eventually (after I've taken it for a spin).

Just getting things installed, but man this looks, feels, and performs quite a bit better than the S8, those who say it's the same are wrong. I don't know if it's the extra ram or if it's software, but this is the fastest and smoothest I've ever experienced touchwiz. Fyi, I had the S8 earlier in the year.

The screen is awesome, as expected. Width wise, it's actually very comfortable, but it's going to take some time to get used to that height.

Multitasking is awesome. I can have a YouTube video going on the half and web browsing on the bottom, and the space I have for web browsing is about the same size as my entire iPhone 7.

That's it for now, but this is a very high quality phone and very polished, definite recommend if you can deal with the size.

Stunning device. I think its this or the Mi Mix 2 for me or maybe 'Gemini'. Have a Xiaomi Note 4 on its way to see how I live with android.
Question please, I have changed my default search to Bing on iPhone 6, and am perferring it. Can the search bar in your photo be changed to Bing? thanks
nb
I notice Duel sim version, only available from Samsung in the UK. Also Note 8 has the all important 24 month warranty in the UK, something apple and others should offer.

Yup, you have to install the Bing app though, but after you do just replace the Google search bar widget with Bing's.

Still setting up the phone but I have no complaints so far.

I'm glad the capacitive buttons are gone because I don't have to worry about hitting them accidentally!

The fingerprnt scanner location is not a problem for me. I can reach it fairly easily.

The screen despite being narrow is still big even coming from a 7 plus. The taller screen is good for split screen.

I will have to keep my main sim in my iPhone until I can get the gear sport.

Does the s pen stick out a TINY bit?

Like the very top that's clicky, probably a fraction of a mm. So it's like a tiny bump on the bottom.

Yup, there is a tiny bump where the spen sticks out.

I'm glad they did that. I still have my Note 7 S-pen which is the same size and fits perfectly in the Note 8. But the top is flat. The top roundness of the Note 8 S-pen makes it easier to press to release, especially if you have a case on.

Hmm not sure about the dual sim model but John Lewis sell only unlocked handsets and offer 2 year warranties:

You can also price match with bricks and mortar stores.

Yeah just making sure it was designed like that! I did notice it was really easy to find!
