That's what I've done with the note 8I might look into that next year then, thanks!
Quoted wrong person but I've joined the Samsung upgrade program so I can have the new note each year and chop the old one in after 12 months

Anyone having issues with wireless charging? I decided to try the fast wireless charger yesterday that I got from Samsung with my pre-order and the phone would say "fast wireless charging" and the estimated time to complete, but the problem is, it wasn't charging at all. The phone was actually losing juice over time. So at work today, I'm trying my choetech wireless charger that worked great with my S8 but my Note 8 won't even recognize it... at all... i'd hate to have to do a factory reset but will do that this afternoon. So frustrating. Otherwise, everything about this phone is great! But I hope I don't have to go through the hassle of exchanging via Samsung.com
Is Samsung pay suppose to work with any contactless machine? Thought I read that while Apple Pay needs to say Apple Pay logo
It should be any contactless reader. Apple pay works usually works anywhere that accepts contactless. I've never seen it not work even if the Apple pay logo is not there. I even used it in a corner shop today. No mention of Apple pay but it just worked. Is Samsung pay suppose to work with any contactless machine? I don't think the problem with Samsung pay is if the place accepted it or not. You are supposed to swipe up, verify with your pin/fingerprint or iris and then you get to the next screen where you hold it over the reader to make the payment. I'm not able to verify with the pin/fingerprint because nothing happens when I try. The screen just stays the same.
We don't have magnetic strip readers in the UK anymore. So android pay, Apple pay and Samsung pay all work only on readers that accept contactless payments (NFC). Over here they all work in the same places as they all rely on NFC.Apple Pay will not work unless the machine has the >>> symbols for NFC communications on it. Samsung will work as long as the machine has a CC reader on it. So there are many retailers that don’t support the NFC yet which is one of the reasons I enjoy Samsung Pay over Apple Pay.

Interesting
Guessing it all works the same on the gear watch too?
Just got my Note8. Wireless charging is working great! (not using a fast charger).
Check to see if the charge keeps pausing. Which it will actually say "Charging is paused" at the bottom of the display. If that's the issue, then it could be the wireless charger itself. I had to exchange a Samsung fast charger for exactly what I explained. Once I got my exchange charger, everything was working fine.
thanks for the update. I just factory reset the phone and my 3rd party wireless charger (from Choetech) will be recognized by the phone but it loses charge on the stand. I'll test with my Samsung one later at home.

I'll check but I never saw that message. I went back and forth to the phone a lot to check on it. but the fact it won't charge on 2 wireless chargers makes me think it's the phone.

Ugh. Sounds like you have a lemon. Sorry, friend.
Go to the Fast Wireless Charging settings under accessories, then disable it and enable it again.
Otherwise, it might be factory reset time.![]()
Where's that setting at again? I had found it before my factory reset but now I don't see the option? only fast wired charging. And the factory reset didn't helpstill doesn't charge wirelessly on either of my chargers. Says its charging but doesn't do anything but lose battery
Out for delivery, woot...
Settings > Advanced Features >Accessories
I just tell them I'm going to pay contactless and then use my Apple watch. Saves them turning around saying we don't accept Apple pay here!!Yeah, Samsung Pay has an advantage up until retailers get rid of magnetic strip readers. But until then, it sure is fun using your phone on a machine in which the cashier tells you "We don't accept that here"...and then BEEP..."Oh, wow, how did you do that?"
