Haha! I am loving Season 3, I like the Cali's way of doing things:D

I have never bothered with Face Recognition, ever since I tried it in Android ICS on the Galaxy S2 and S3, I found it useless.

Iris Scanner users infrared so even in the dark it can manage, it is a bit slow in a completely dark room, but even a bit of of light and it works flawlessly. I use a combination of Iris and Fingerprint scanner depending on which is more convenient at the time I am unlocking the phone.

Face recognition worked like a charm initially but now it keeps saying it doesn't recognize me. Gave up on it, I only use iris and FP.
 
I going to finish setting this phone up and put it through it's paces. However one thing I'll say again the FPS placemet is no problem at all. It's become muscle memory for me now now and it's the best FPS I've ever used on a Samsung phone.

Yep. Bought one and got the other Free. Had a choice of another Note 8 or an iP8. The supervisor came on the line and approved it. I got the order confirmation which clearly states the details. I'm stoked. So is my son :)

I think they did it as I was switching my cable and home phone over vs just working out a deal on my cell plan. They got Cable and my home phone out of it. I would have given them a shot at 100mb/10mb internet like I currently have with another provider but they said something about their lines coming into my area prevented that and 50/5 was all they could do. I don't buy that but will know more next week when an actual tech is on-site.

Yeah for me the S8 FPS is perfectly fine too!

And I set Facial Recognition to the faster (less secure) setting for convenience. If I'm going out or into a situation where I need more security, I switch to Iris.

I know everyone has different experiences but for me there have been very few problems.

So far facial recognition kind of sucks, mostly in the dark or dim lighting. Iris scanner really sucks, you have to hold the phone right up to your face, and it takes longer than facial recognition. I really miss having a front mounted fingerprint sensor.

What prices have they given you? It doesn't seem much different on the website. Major factor as to why I didn't upgrade.
 
Why do I read some articles still assuming 600 MHz support could come to the T-Mobile Note 8?

I don't like the iris scanning becuase you have to hold your phone at a funny angle to use it. I've switched to face unlock now but either way the FPS works really well for me.

Is there any way to disable swiping on the screen opening the app drawer? I'd rather just hit the apps icon, or maybe even if I could just swipe up only from the bottom. But the swiping anywhere is interfering with my widgets and other stuff.

Anyone else notice widgets don't really act right? For example I used to be able to scroll up and down inside my email and google voice widgets to view messages and such, now I can't scroll anymore. This is in touchwiz, but I've even tried it in Nova and nothing happens. Last time I had this setup was on a Note 7 and it worked with no issues. Some of the widgets seem borked as well, like the Google voice one where if I resize it to less than 2/3 screen forces itself to be the smaller 3x1 widget.

God what was it originally. I was looking at the 20gb which is £68 which is really not what I want to be paying.

Is this with 02?
Have you checked Virgin? Apparently they are cheaper and they use EE's network which is better than 02's.

Wow virgin are much cheaper actually! £39 for 40gb but they are currently out of stock! Will keep an eye out. I was hoping BT would get the Note in stock but they haven't got it at all.
 
welp, I'm sending back my unlocked Note 8 to samsung due to the faulty wireless charging. I went ahead and purchased the Note 8 via my local T-Mobile store and am taking advantage of the BOGO deal. I'd prefer to have the unlocked version but am just tired of dealing with samsung support. I'd rather deal with T-Mobile if I have issues.

I doubt that deal will be available any time soon!

I think the cheapest deal is like £54 and that's with Vodafone or EE

I just use the fingerprint sensor. It's really not that bad having it in the back of the phone. I have an OtterBox case on my phone so the cutout makes it easy to find exactly where to place my finger.

Managed to sneak in a free dex station. Samsung was running a promotion for a free dex station for pre-orders over here, all that bought before release where eligible for a free dex station through the members app. Release was on Friday but I tried registering today and got a mail saying dex will ship in 3-5 days.
