On iOS devices if you open the case with at least one AirPod still in the case if you have the battery widget enabled it will tell you how much charge is in the case and for the airpods. When you first open the case and connect to your iOS device you get a pop up on the screen which gives you the same info. However I suppose on android I don’t think you can see this.

However I think if you open the case without the airpods in and it’s showing an orange light it means that your case is running low and you should charge it.
Do you have the AirPods?
How do you check how much battery you have on an note 8?

yeah, if I pair my airpods with my iPad, it'll show the charge. just not on android. and in my experience, the light in the case being orange just means it's 99% or less battery and green ONLY means 100% (not sure if that's correct but that's what it seems like based on my observations). So it's not exactly helpful but I just plug them in a few times a week while I'm at my work desk.

Perhaps? I prefer the AirPods because they are truly wireless. I tried wired "sports" BT headphones before and that little cord that connected them drove me nuts, especially on a sweaty wet back of my neck during a workout. But, I'm quite happy with my AirPods and won't be looking for anything else for while. They work perfectly fine for my usage

Only thing puts me off is the fact that they are not really compatible with android....
Are they loud?
Think I'm going to use Spotify rather than transferring all my iTunes library

the Note 8 controls the volume of the Airpods, so they definitely get loud, louder than I'd ever be comfortable wearing them at. I typically listen to them at around 40%-50% volume.

There's a few other wireless BT headphones out there to check out. As other's have said, Samsung has a pair and Jaybird released some. But I think the AirPods are the cheapest truly wireless BT ear buds out there (that I know of).

Yet it needs 6gb v 3gb. Try it again in 3- 6 months when it bogs down.

Jeez, save your snark and bitterness for whatever you decide on buying. Not sure why you're so intent on discouraging people from admiring or buying anything other than an iPhone. It's all good man, you do you.

Yeah, never understood that idea. Be happy for Android improvements and snarky if the Note8 slows down in less than a year.

And then make your purchasing choice next year based on that information.

Apps reloading on my iPhone 6Sand 6S+ have always been a problem for me and I have to say, that is the biggest reason that I am skipping the iPhone again this year.

I can count on an app that I left open on my S8+ and Note 8 Sunday night, to still be open exactly where I left it here at just past midnight on a Tuesday. There are times I do this when I am following replies that go on for days. I can't do that on any iPhone I've had to date and it seems as though I still wouldn't be able to count on that on the iPhone 8. The same applies to my S7 Edge and that phone is 1.5 years old now.

I would love to buy another iPhone because the battery on my 6S+ has days when it will use up all the battery in less then a day and other times, will be at 60% after 18% so I would like to replace it.

I know I've made a good decision when I buy any Samsung phone.

Over and over, the Note 8 proves to be a RAM management champ.

I'm sure both are quite fast and in 2017 we're really splitting hairs here. Unless there are gobs of people having bad lagging issues with a game/app, IMO the speed thing is getting old in terms of concerns. That's like saying a 450hp car is slower than a 550hp car. Both are fast, who cares......

I was just coming to post this the Note8 obliterated that iPhone 8 Plus

This phone is truly incredible

Even in the speed test did you see how the Note8 managed to sometimes beat the 8 Plus or be close to it!? This thing is a beast!

Goes to show Benchmarks don't mean a thing!

Updates are being rolled out FYI. I'm on AT&T and just downloaded a 220 mb update. Still 7.1.1 but update claims performance improvements. Bixby also updated.

Also, an often forgotten trick is to enable developer options and speed up your animations. This helps the phone feel a little snappier.
