That’s kind of where I’m at. If I’m making a switch from Apple, might as well go big and not something that’s comparable. A fold could completely change my lifestyle.

Curious your thoughts. Could get a refurbished Z Fold 6 on Amazon for $1050. Any concerns with that approach? At that value, I’d probably trade it in come summer for a Fold 7 and get equal value.

Have you looked at the Pixel Pro Fold? Personally I think I'm going to wait until the Pixel 10 range. Samsung's event is less than 2 weeks away, I will certainly see what they are announcing and if it's not worth the upgrade from my S24 Ultra, I may as well wait an see what Pixel 10 range is like. I'll probably be upgrading my iPhone anyway this year, from my 15 Pro Max, especially if there is a design change and camera upgrades.

Personally I think all smartphones are at a point now where there isn't much more they can do, people are holding onto them longer. Google, Samsung and Apple are trying to move into AI in order to create a reason for people to upgrade, Google has Gemini Live along with their editing AI features, Audio eraser, Magic eraser and so on. Samsung have things like sketch to image and so on. Apple well......the less said about their AI efforts so far the better.

The one intriguing that Samsung have done is the Galaxy Ring, that intrigues me, so does the idea of a Trifold phone that they are rumoured to be releasing next year.

If you aren't in a rush maybe wait for one plus open 2 which we may see by feb/march.

Personally, I wouldn’t own one without some insurance and I’m not sure if those refurbished phones come with it… but if you plan on using it for trade-in then I’m on board with that.

Samsung typically gives users 1200 trade-in value for the previous generation foldable when it releases the new one, so you’ll be getting more than what you paid for.

Yeah, that’s what I suggested. But @mjschabow insisted they wanted the best foldable experience and we all know who has that.

We haven’t seen the new One UI 7 for the Fold series… which will add to the lead. And when the Fold 7 launch, rumored to have a larger frame… game over.

I don’t think you have to buy all of them, I think it’s just saying that the maximum you can get is £400 off if you buy the S25 range where you get £100 off, then £300 in total for the accessories depending on what you buy. But overall if you were to buy all of that no it wouldn’t be the best deal.

I actually bought all my accessories separately... for some reason the discounts were better that way (especially with trade-ins).

At the moment Google seem to have better deals. I've got 25% off, which makes the Pixel 9 Pro XL £824. BUT they will only give £475 for my S24 Ultra so trade ins are not as good as Samsung i don't think.

Different operating systems, different cameras and so on. I use my iPhone as my main phone, it’s got my SIM card in. My S24 Ultra I use when I want to take different pictures than my iPhone takes (Zoom is a lot better on S24 Ultra, as is the 200mp camera).

I’m with you. I love tech, but not enough to have the hassle of having 2 phones.

I would say one plus open foldable experience is very close to Samsung in everything now aside from good lock which gives Samsung edge in software.

How close it is... that's entirely subjective. All I'm pointing out... it's the best given the years of development it has over the competition along with it's feature set.

And I haven't even mention external display support with DeX... customer service support in which you can get your phone fixed same day. But anywho... are you doing a trade-in for the S25U? I can't keep track of your smartphone rotation lol... not sure if you gave up the S24U in favor of the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Agreed and yeah I’m going for S25 ultra that’s my plan. I’ve sold my pixel 9 pro XL which I got a good price for it. I’ve missed not having one UI so going back Samsung after some time away. Hopefully price isn’t too bad

lol not sure to be honest but I sold my pixel to get ready for the s25 ultra. I regret selling my oppo find x7 ultra so soon.

I thought to get the find x8 ultra for the camera likewise I will sell my current Vivo 100 ultra for the Vivo 200 ultra when that’s out in may

Although I may just stick with Vivo only for photography

No foldable currently no but I plan to get the one plus open 2 when that’s out so I will soon be back up to 4 phones

Currently I’m rocking iPhone 16 pro max and Vivo 100 ultra

I don’t know about Amazing, personally i think Google’s Gemini Live is amazing, it’s also creepy in a way (a good kind of way if that makes sense 😂). BUT I’m hoping it’s able to at least match Gemini Live. What I don’t understand is the rumour/leak that one of the Pre-order bonuses will be a free year’s subscription to Gemini. Why would Samsung do that if they are going to announce their own version, wouldn’t it undermine it.

If what will? If you mean the S25 range then yea of course it will, the phones will be released in all different countries worldwide.
