Looks on par with what Gemini does now to be honest.
I don't mind a year of Gemini live on Samsung......
I'm not sure it makes sense, I could be wrong but I dont think Samsung will be giving a year of Gemini away for free. I think it will be a year of their new AI companion for a year, then you will have to pay a subscription, this matches with what was said last year, that the AI features would only be free until 2025. I think that was referring to the new AI companion and features that come with it.

If what will? If you mean the S25 range then yea of course it will, the phones will be released in all different countries worldwide.
No, I mean AI (whichever - nee buxby/gemini) - it is nice and fine it works in english and maybe few other “bug languages”, but would weocome to communicate with it in my first language. And as it is sure that dumb siri will never support it, ai/ai assistant that works 100% in my first language would be quite gamechanger and killer app to move from iphone.

Is the S25+ expected to get the same RAM increase to 16GB as the Ultra, as the current respective models have the same RAM?

The S25+ is rumoured to be getting 12GB Ram, only the S25 Ultra will be getting 16GB Ram. Obviously that’s not set in stone at this point and we won’t know everything for sure until the event on the 22nd.

I know this isnt related to the S25 line up, BUT it may get a mention at Samsungs event on the 22nd. Release date is said to be first half of this year (2025). Not sure if that will include the UK or if it's just Korea and US. Interesting concept tho, don't you think?

I don’t know about Amazing, personally i think Google’s Gemini Live is amazing, it’s also creepy in a way (a good kind of way if that makes sense 😂). BUT I’m hoping it’s able to at least match Gemini Live. What I don’t understand is the rumour/leak that one of the Pre-order bonuses will be a free year’s subscription to Gemini. Why would Samsung do that if they are going to announce their own version, wouldn’t it undermine it.
I am not sure why you think it's different or not Gemini Live

We already have Gemini live on our Samsung's and I expect this is just the latest version with better integration with Samsung apps

What I mean is if Samsung are going to announce their own version with Bixby, Why would they be giving a years subscription to Googles Gemi advanced as a perk. Google would be the competitor at that point. At the moment Samsung don’t have a competitor to Gemini or Gemini Live.

We don't know everything yet...but maybe the new Bixby will be a companion AI service to supplement Gemini as a further AI integration for all of the Samsung apps and device control. This way year free of Gemini make total sense.

Interesting, it could be. I think Gemini is great. I use it on both my iPhone and my S24 Ultra. A year free is a good perk.

I think jamezr sums it up nicely what it may be :)

Privacy issues aside......this does look interesting. It could supplant the internal home cameras to monitor the home.

It could hear something at the back door of the home...send an alert through to the homeowner through the app. Because it is so mobile it could see things more clearly than a static security camera.
The homeowner could view the alert and decide whether to call the police or ignore it.
Very interesting.....

One more week! To get impressed, heavily considering switching and fibally as usual chicken out and keep iphone - me every january:)

Yes just one more week and we will see if Samsung impress or disappoint. I didn't fully switch, I made a compromise and have my iPhone and a S24 Ultra. Best of both worlds.

I dont see place for two phones in my life, so i want most universal one for my simple needs - best photos available (99% of my pictures are my children, so best camera for moving objects;)), find my friends or sthing that works like this, higher pwm… so as i really like samsung events recently, i always end with iphone (and i really love face id, imessage and facetime). I almost bought pixel 9 pro, unfortunately low pwm was deal breaker, maybe next year?

I don’t think this phone will be for you as Samsung for whatever reason has always struggled with moving kids and dogs…which is weird because it can handle other moving objects like ceiling fans.

Samsung S25 Ultra probably wont be for you, they have struggled with moving objects like dogs and children. Your best bet is either iPhone or Google Pixel.

Yes, thats why I always enjoy samsung event and then never buy🤷‍♂️ as i wrote, been super tempted this year by pixel (boy pixel fold seems like ideal device for me), but low pwm kept me back.. hope next year google will up its display game and delivers perfect device for me (not sure if i will find find my friends alternative, but first things first google, solve pwm for me:))

Question. Does OneUI7 have live activities? And if so, how is it? Pretty comparable to iOS or does it need work?

Yep there is quite a lot of old misunderstood comments on this mainly as by default Samsung takes photos on release and not on press of the button, you should change this in camera settings to quick tap especially for candid shots

The rest is down to clever processing and focusing where Pixel has always excelled however often its the user not panning with the shot or even using burst mode not dissimilar in principle to the old SLR motor drive to capture the best shot of a moving object :)

The rest is often anecdotal remarks, as rarely do you see reviews with all 2 or 3 phones capturing the same moving object at the same time

The bottom line is YMMV depending on your shooting method, prevailing conditions and subject :)
