Congrats on the baby! What a blessing!

But why not create a shared photo drive? You can stay on iPhone and she can with Android... I often do this with Google Drive. I have a folder that I use to access photos/videos between my iPad and Galaxy Fold... you can create a shared folder and manage photos that way.

It's much easier with my Galaxy Fold to share photos once I tap share.. there's the folder immediately accessible and I tap that. But with the iPad.. I have to tap Drive and then navigate to the drive. It's not as if it's tedious or anything... just more action compared to the Galaxy Fold.
Thanks! We’re really excited. 😊

And good call. Didn’t think of the shared drive. I suppose we could probably do that on Google Photos. Wow I feel dumb for not thinking of that. 🤣

Yeah, Google Photos is a good choice! Heck, I didn’t even think of it…. So don’t feel dumb! Lol

My photo storage of choice is under iCloud (Photos)… so that’s the reason I exchange photos between the iPad and Galaxy Fold with Google Drive. If you both are currently using Google Photos… that’s a no brainer!

For sure. And I’m not really married to those things. I mean it’s not that hard to open up an app too. And android auto isn’t that bad.

I do have a technical question. Hopefully this will make sense.

My wife and I are expecting a baby. I can only imagine how many videos and pics we’re going to send each other. What is the best way to share these between each other? Now that RCS is on iOS, is that as good as if, let’s say we both had Galaxy phones and used Samsung Share or whatever the heck it’s called?

That’s also partly why I’m thinking switching. It would be really easy to share via Samsung Share if that’s the best way to preserve quality.

Oh and she will never buy an iPhone. LOL.
Congrats man! Your life will never be the same again:D consider this, u will be taking million and billiins of little obe, u need camera that is caoable of taking good photo of moving toddler under any conditions - u want either iphone or pixel, samsung is not up to these two regarding taking good pictures of little moving human being:)

Did you not see the words unique and strongest king in Ice Universe posting ?

It is often the case Samsung introduce new features that take time to filter down in to vanilla android

Ice universe tends to over exaggerated things. Most years I've seen him say you should buy and then a month or two later he bashes the phone. I think he's on commission 😂

If all they have to offer is new AI features then it's not really worth an upgrade for me. Also I much prefer the more boxy design, that note look is part of what I like about my S24 Ultra.
Samsung used Googles Circle to Search last year, on the same day Google announced it would also be coming to Pixels.

I guess we will see on WWednesday. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

I think you should keep your S24U another year. You really like the squared corners.
I am looking forward to the rounded corners myself.

Ice doesn't usually give this much praise to Samsung. His loves the Chinese brands like Oppo , Vivo, redme and so forth.
I am glad Samsung is using Googles Gemini and not trying to develop their own AI as that takes years to be done correctly.
This also provides a nice standard user experience across Android devices

The Pixel 10 is going to more or less the same… at this point, companies are full speed ahead on AI.

Gemini is going to be integrated in the S24U when 7.1 drops next couple months… so, you’ll still have access to Gemini on your current phone. IMO the appeal of the Pixel devices is using pure Android and I have yet to see you express that.

Because if you are expecting crazy amount of hardware changes for the upcoming Pixel 10… that likely could lead to disappointment. If the Pixel 9 series didn’t interest you enough (big leap compared to the Pixel 8)… not sure what you are expecting with year out of Google, because the focus is all about AI going forward.

It's not the design that I'm looking forward to in the Pixel, they had a design change with the Pixel 9 range. It's the software (Pixel OS) and the fact that the battery life might improve somewhat when they move their chipset, which if I'm not mistaken is due for a big upgrade with the Tensor 5.

I like some of the Google AI features, magic eraser is great, it even works on iPhone (with a Google One subscription).

At the moment I'm trying to play it forward, waiting and seeing what the S25 Ultra has to offer. All the physical changes have leaked (as far as we know) BUT maybe there will be AI features that we haven't heard of yet. I may just stick with my S24 Ultra if I'm not impressed, but I will still keep an eye on what Google are doing too. They seem to have been the most improved in 2024.

I’m definitely interested to see if they bake Gemini in similar to how it is on the Pixel or if you’ll have to go through Bixby and then click on a prompt or how that will work.

yeah agreed. Gemini is pretty great and from the papers they're releasing, they have great plans too so I'm happy that samsung haven't tried to do their own.

However, I truly hate the apple siri then when it doesn't know it asks chatgpt mess.

So I hope samsung's integration of gemini is seamless.

Agreed. It feels like a cop out anytime I ask Siri to do something beyond setting a reminder and it had to use ChatGPT. Yet they brand it “Apple Intelligence” lol.

I like it…..

The Galaxy S25 Phones Will Have Google Gemini That Can Access Samsung Apps

Interesting, I wonder why Google do this tho. Doesn't it just give people more of a reason to stay with Samsung than jump to a Pixel 🤔

I guess google is not so interested in pixel sales, after all, they are mainly sw/advertisement/search/ai company… and samsung is big in android world. Seems win win to me for samsung/google to work together.

well they've already spent, are spending, money to develop gemini so they may as well make money by providing it to samsung. Then of course, it has the added advantage of perhaps stopping samsung from developing a competitor AI... not to mention the more devices gemini gets on, the larger the data pool it can train on and the better it gets.
