I've referenced the price and niche level of this device several times already. Work on your reading comprehension skills.

You've also referenced your misinformation which was why I quoted you in the first place.. to correct you.

Regardless of an embargo or not, none of the reasons I have stated are incorrect. Plus you are now trying to make points I've already made as if I haven't and then denying the fact.

For those in the UK.

5% cashback via quidco and trade in any broken phone for £150 off. This brings the price to just below £1600.

Might have to raid my 5 yr old daughters broken 15 year old nokia phone that she uses as a toy.

Watching the reviews of the Duo, I didn't know you could set two apps to open together on each side of the screen from one tap for foldables... That's... Pretty damn cool.

I use Sheets more than once a day to log orders for my business and then have to go into calendar to add the collection in. To be able to open both with one tap and use one on each screen is a fantastic use of a foldable. Nice to see.

Also, Samsung are offering 5% cashback if you use Samsung Pay Card to pay for your purchase.

You could not be more wrong. MKBHD, The Verge, Unbox Therapy, all these sources cater to the general public AND tech enthusiasts. Why would most of these places then not rush out Fold 2 reviews? Because their audience is beyond the tech enthusiasts who are anticipating Fold 2 reviews. And if the Fold 2 were a cheaper and more popular category right now, then they probably would have dropped reviews quickly. But the lineup is so new and expensive that the pressure simply isn't there.

The Duo reviews all dropped because Microsoft had an embargo on when they would allow reviewers to discuss the software. I know that for a fact. So all these places have had Duo's in hand waiting for the moment to drop the review.

Alright, I'll put it in simpler terms. If you go to a tech forum and ask if anyone knows who MKBHD is, I bet 9/10 people will know who he is or have heard of him. Conversely, if you go to Walmart and ask 10 people if they know who MKBHD is, I better you get less than 3.

The average person isnt checking these sites or youtube pages for tech reviews. People interested in tech are checking these sites in much higher frequencies. If you disagree with this, I honestly don't know what to tell you besides you're wrong.

You completely underestimate how many casual tech people now go on YouTube to watch reviews of tech products or google (insert product name here) reviews and read them. No I’m not wrong. You are fixated on this false concept that the majority of MKBHD’s or The Verge’s audiences are tech enthusiasts. These are resources being used by everyone now.

Some AT&T pre-orders are arriving tomorrow ?. Sadly mine still says 'in progress'.

Tomorrow !?!?? Holy crap, I hope Samsung is sending theirs out that early as well.

Edit: WTF WTF? My Samsung order slipped from 9/21 to 9/28... I ordered this the day BEFORE pre orders were live, no custom hinge or anything. Unlocked version. I see on Samsung the unlocked version doesn't ship until 10/16, but all the other carrier phones ship 9/18, I guess I'm competing with the version the rest of the world is ordering.

you tend to find samsung/apple stores going by the date thats been announced

its the third party companies that seem to make mistakes on each launch

Engadget, Android Central and some other reviews just dropped. General consensus seems to be brilliant hardware, good software but 3rd party apps need to add flex mode functionality (they wont), battery is good, short term durability seems to not be an issue. The only cons Ive heard are cameras are only ok and obviously the price is ridiculously high.

Just had a chat with an AT&T rep online. I never fully trust them or any chat reps because they get so much wrong so often. Anyways they said many AT&T Fold 2 orders will be delivered today. Said I should get mine tomorrow. However mine says 'in progress' at the moment and I'll believe it when I see it.

Cameras seem good but not note 20 ultra level good and really need to be for 2k but it looks a great complete phone though

Exciting product but needs same level cameras really in the future which I imagine it will in 1-2 years...

I see a lot of comments on youtube from Apple people switching to this phone.
its still a very niche product one for lover of gadgets who don't mind the price tag i don't see many apple users converting i'm getting both but thats probably because i'm heavily invested in the apple ecosystem

Most of those Apple techies on YouTube are also heavily, heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem. Once they realize they are a green bubble, start missing their Apple Watch, and realize continuity with their other Apple products is no longer a thing, they'll switch back. Most of us know that it's dangerous to switch platforms when are so heavily invested in one ecosystem.

I think your being over generous with your estimates :)

It's quite clear some have no idea who or what are general consumers

Simple stats tell you how niche these reviews are and their target audience

6 billion people can't even understand them LOL

Even their subscribers are a fraction of the 360 million native english speakers that add in the average price of a phone is $200-475 with the US being top end and europe a $100 less

Most phones in the west over $600 are probably aspirational/niche to most let alone the Fold :)

Sure there are always those who look but cant afford on many products but that's not really bumping up the numbers significantly

I would suggest you give up trying to help explain this grossly wrong assumption :)

Yeah, I was just surprised to see the comments from Apple users making the switch. I don't see that often lol

Seems like Samsung orders are starting to process. My cancel button just disappeared. I checked my Fedex and I see a tracking label created from Samsung with a delivery date of Sept 15th. So looks like Im getting one of my items on Tuesday.

Yeah, I caved and re-placed my order. I figured I would give it a go. If it doesnt blow my mind, its going back. But once I crunched the numbers, the price becomes more palatable with the Watch 3 and Buds Live added. The 60% discount on that bundle is huge. My total with phone, Watch3, and Buds Live along with student discounts and $100 cancellation brought the total to $2060...which is a lot. But I plan on the Watch 3, Buds Live, and My S20 Plus and I should recoup ~$1300 for all those which makes it much easier to swallow.

Carrier ? or unlocked

Carrier for me. Tmobile.

I thought about unlocked for the faster updates as I'm a little worried about T-Mobiles update frequency with phone with such a small user base, but in the end I went carrier version because I like VoLTE and sometimes rely on wifi calling.
