Some reports on reddit of people's Folds cracking along the crease. Hopefully it's just an outlier and doesn't become a widespread issue.

Anyway, I sent mine back today. Awesome phone with probably the best hardware I've seen on a phone. Definitely usable as a daily and ready for mainstream, well other than the price. I'm looking forward to the Fold 3. I'd like to see it be a little wider, a little thinner, and improve the feeling/durability of the inner screen. I didn't like how the screen protector felt but I was too chicken to remove it. Oh and the biggest thing is try and get Android to force devs to code apps to support tablet/flex modes.

Bold statement saying those that are returning the device can't afford it. I returned it because I didn't think it justified the cost for my use. My bank account is doing just fine. I just decided an ipad pro made more sense for my use.

You might want to watch throwing around judgement like that chief.
I'm not judging, just stirring up discussion. There are lots of convos happening all over the web and people are getting cold feet. I just couldn't understand the flaws I'm reading about the device, and outright disagree with them. But that's just my opinion.

Quick impressions, definitely thicker and heavier than I thought. The width of the phone when closed is perfect (the exact same width as my old iPhone 7), however the screen is slightly too narrow, probably because of the large bezel on the left. This size is nearly perfect, just needs to be thinner, lighter, and the screen needs to go all the way to the left edge.

As of right now, that's my only complaint (hardware wise), everything else feels fantastic.

Like I said, my criticism of the device is specific to my personal use of the phone. Some might not find the front screen too small, I disagree. Its definitely usable but I would prefer it a little bigger.

Other things I didnt like were the feel of the inner screen, the lack of 3rd party accessories, the weak front earpiece, and the half baked software (not Samsung's fault). Are any of these things deal breakers? Depends on the person. I dont know about you, but I dont grade phones in a vacuum. I grade them relative to their cost. Im willing to accept some trade-offs on a $500 phone that I wont on a $1000 phone.

That said, do I think this phone is worth $2K? Yep. The hardware alone is worth that price as nothing else comes close. I just dont think I would get enough out of it personally to where I wouldnt rather spend the $2k on an IPP + magic keyboard + xbox series x or something along those lines.

Anyway, I dont want to drag this thread down or make people think the phone isnt great so I'll leave it at that. Enjoy your phones. Its awesome that we actually have a viable, new form factor in the phone market for the first time in a long time.

Just received my black Galaxy Buds Live. I'm impressed and surprised. They sound better than my Airpods Pro. The fit seems perfect so far. Did a light 50 yard jog to see if it would fall out, and they stayed in.

Now I just have to wait a couple more days for my Tab S7+ to arrive, and my Samsung ecosystem will be complete.

I already have the Active Watch 2, but I plan on getting the Galaxy Watch 3 titanium version if it's released in Oct as rumors suggest. That watch has me drooling.

3 people so far on reddit have had the middle of their folds crack (where the crease is) .. hoping these are just defective units.

My expectations going in were a bit lowered after hearing some of the complainers on here. I'm going to be a bit controversial and say that most people returning the device probably just can't afford it and are looking for other ways to justify sending it back.

The front screen is immensely usable.
Man these made me chuckle ?

Got mine on Wednesday and I'm impressed. The inner screen is just so much more productive. Battery life is great and has 3-4% overnight drain. Yesterday I got 8hrs or so SOT...

But why is the keyboard separated? because of the crease? Can’t be made differently?

You can set the keyboard back to standard, which has been better for me. I personally think Samsung set the keyboard to split by default, cause is visually looks nicer, and makes the display look even bigger.

Have to say I do feel once I get the fold I will struggle to go back to just a normal phone.. Will see though
I am in that position today

I just sold my Fold v1 for a $1000 and have migrated to my N20 U for a day or 2 pending delivery of my v2

Using a slab phone fulltime just grates after having a Fold for a year

Nice to see so many sudden realizations here something I have been observing for the past year with armchair critics mixed now with a splash of $0 commitment return views

Imagine being so insecure that you need to constantly pat yourself on the back on internet forums and get defensive when someone doesn't share you're opinion on an inanimate object.

There is a raffle going on in work and one of the prizes is a 'Samsung Fold'. So I bought two strips haha.
I don't know if it's a new fold, it's likely to be V1. But got to be in it to win it, right?!

Had to cancel my pre order today with EE and raised a new order which means I get the phone on Monday... God knows why

And turns out I have received a discount of 10% so it's now £11 less a month at £77

Ummmm.... So you just told someone else this :

You might want to watch throwing around judgement like that chief.

Then you just judge him to be insecure.

This thread is for people who are interested in the Fold 2. Now, you and a few others were so interested in this device that you bought it and returned it within a day or two. Which is a joke in itself, but that's your choice, so whatever. But at this point, it would be safe to say, you and anyone who returns a device within a day, really wasn't all that interested to begin with. I mean, a day to make a judgment on a form factor that is so incredibly new? Nah, any objective person would say, not reasonable. I really can't say if you truly had the device to begin with, but I'll give you and anyone else the benefit of the doubt. Now that you are no longer interested, because you keep saying so, and you returned the darn thing within a day, why are you even discussing it? You didn't use it long enough to even have an opinion that would hold more weight than someone who goes to Best Buy and played with it for an hour or two. Honestly, I'm just curious.

So you're saying that people who bought it for a day and returned it can't therefore have an opinion?
What does that mean for someone like me then who has never owned it? I'm not allowed to come into a public forum that encourages device discussion and comment on the device because I've never owned it, nor do I intend to buy it?

Come on. I'm not sure why it's only EVER in the Samsung threads in this section where people are frowned upon for saying anything negative. Doesn't happen in the Pixel thread, or anywhere else outside of the iPhone section.

People are paying up to £2k for this phone. If they're not feeling it after day 1 or if they know from a hands on that it's not for them then that's their decision. By your logic, phone shops would be pointless having demo units out as people wouldn't be able to forge any opinion what so ever from having a play on one unless they lived in the store for a week or more sleeping next to it. Ridiculous.

Ok, a couple of things...

First, that poster said anyone who returned this phone must not have been able to afford it on the basis of him thinking the phone is great. Thats a ridiculous statement so I called him out on it. Hows that me judging?

Second, my comment to SteveJUAE wasnt based on a single post, but a general way he interacts with everyone on these boards. He talks down to people and acts like any opinion that differs from his is wrong and ridicules them for it. Judging by the "likes" on my post calling him out, I'm not the only one that feels this way.

Lastly, and heres the most interesting part of your post, is that because I returned the device within 48 hours I (according to you) probably didnt even actually have the device because why else would I be so stupid as to return it already? Wow. Do we need to show receipts around here to verify purchases now before having an opinion. You seem to have a strong opinion on this phone...so Im going to need to see proof of purchase before anything you say is valid. Sound good?

Oh and apparently I cant have any more of an opinion on it than someone who played with it at Best Buy. Did that person at Best Buy have it in their hand/pocket for 48 hours like I did? Did they put over 10 hours of screen on time on it like I did? Did they test different launchers? Did they test countless split screen combinations? Did they watch a full movie on it? Did they make countless phone and video calls? Did they test almost every native app to see what flex mode offered? You get my point.

I put it through the paces of things I do everyday and tried different things that arent possible or as seamless on regular phones. In the end I judged it to be a great phone, but the benefits I gained with it over other phones werent enough in my opinion to pay a $1k premium over other flagships. Others may have a differing opinion and thats fine. But using the phone for 2 weeks vs 48 hours wasnt going to change that opinion. I saw what the phone had to offer and had plenty of time on it to form that opinion.

I've noticed this too. Its weird.

Whats even funnier is people are freaking out and I've been overwhelmingly positive about the phone! Ive said repeatedly its great and that I have no real big complaints other than for my personal use I dont think it offers enough beyond regular phones to justify the premium price. Again...for my personal use case.

Thing is, you never know until you try it.
There's been so many devices I've been mega hyped for and when I have received them I just knew they were not for me. For varying reasons.
It's difficult to find that Holy Grail device. For some, the Fold 2 will be it. But it won't be for everyone. Least you tried it.
