Cool.. cool! Well, welcome on aboard. Hope you stay for the long haul. Besides the incentives... what peaks your interest in the Fold3?
The bigger screen and using apps on both sides easier peaks my interest. The Note has a big screen but even then I struggled sometimes using two apps and the keyboard. The new tech and form factor pretty much are the main reasons. Only thing I'll miss is the 5x optical zoom if I do keep the Fold 3 after the trial period.

10x digital zoom is pretty good.

Any particular reason, hope you can explain your reasons. I bought Fold 2 after the prices went down and got it for 690gbp, AM loving the form factor as a mini ipad.
The phone is very nice. I want a phone that i can throw in a bag and not worry about it. That’s not the fold at least at this point.

I don’t want to be nervous to use my phone or to potentially drop it and cause damage to the hinge.

Three weeks with fold 3 and I'm really excited with this phone. Long time apple user but I'm slowly transitioning away due to this phone. Cancelled icloud and now I'm using Google one for photos, data. Switched apple music to Spotify and bought an gw4. Still having my 11 pro max and aw4 but I rarely use them now.
If you have any second thoughts , don't ! Maybe I was bored with the same iphone every year but this is definitely a winner for Samsung.

Awesome to hear it... It's really a great device... I kept the Apple music bc it comes with my Verizon plan... Apple Music is great on Android... Ha

Guys what app you use to force the apps to rotate. And also how do you place display brightness setting in status bar.

Any recommended apps and launchers please.

I'm here I'm here! Yup, July for me too. Usual story with Samsung. I mean it's only October tomorrow lol.

Yeah, that was one of my worries with the Fold. Being that it doesn't sell near the amount of say the S series, it wouldnt be a priority when it comes to updates. It's looking like that worry was correct. Which is a shame considering the cost of the Fold and how well Samsung has done at updating their other lines.

The Fold has typically been a couple of weeks behind the S series update wise, not ideal, but not as bad as they used to be.

What worry ? on what basis ? really how does it even affect most and the upgrade increments could be entirely different as we have just seen on the virtual ram

My F1 and F2 got monthly updates bar last August on my F2 but got 2 in September including the major UI update

My F3 is stuck waiting for me in Malaysia whilst I am in Rome so should go home to a few DL's LOL

As I stated in my post, my worry when purchasing a Fold was how well updates would be supported based on the sale numbers of the Fold line (far smaller than any of the other major Samsung phones). From what I read, it sounds like the Fold line is typically slower to get updates than the other major Samsung phones. As long as it's only a few months behind, it's probably not a big deal. But it'll be interesting to see if over time that gets better or worse.

And I never said taking a little longer to get updates would bother most people. But personally, I'm would only be ok with delayed updates to a certain degree. Major OS updates within 4 months is acceptable to me. Monthly security updates should never get more than 2 months behind.

So my Fold 3 arrived yesterday just in time for a trip. I enjoyed using it in the car for Google Maps navigation. It was so fun. The night camera wasn't too bad. I had my Note 20 Ultra and iPhone 12 mini for testing too. Got about what I expected from a cell phone so I wasn't disappointed. I still have about 18 days of testing before having to decide if I keep it and trade in my N20U or return it. Battery life is good so far. I'm not constantly on my phone so no phone has ever drained in under a day but everyone has different usage. It doesn't do anything significantly better than my N20U but it's fun to use and the bigger screen makes it more enjoyable to browse the web, email, view photos.

I have had the Fold1 and Fold2 concurrently with the Notes 10 and 20 and S10 and S20 and the FOLDs do not get updates generally any slower than any other Samsung flagships

I think it has little to do with production numbers you could even surmise because of it's higher profile it actually gets better attention to detail updates

As I stated for the last 2 years the Folds have had monthly security updates etc more or less on time other than last August it was one month late

What you are more likely to observe on MR is the variance of certain carriers mainly US ones that lag updates as they are not running unlocked or international version of OS

I think you will find the number of actual occurrences of real exploits being used because of lag in security patches is almost 0 and the odd recent one was on IOS LOL

I think you have very little to be concerned about :)
