They don't charge until you pickup as they no doubt get a lot of people order and never show. Source; my previous pickup experience

Ah right! I didn't know this. So if I missed my pickup window I'd lose the stock and not get charged? Guess I better make sure I'm there for my window!

It’s also quite interesting to see that most John Lewis stores for SS AW4 say ‘Not Stocked Here’ and the bigger stores more likely to sell it say ‘Out of Stock’

only remember purchasing and collecting in store.. can't see an option to reserve store stock apart form rocking up to the store and claiming it.
They have a next day collection in store. This stock will come from online inventory rather than store stock. Think this will be the best way for most

What usually happens is the first person to have card troubles when they try to take full payment can announce "It's happening" an hour or two before - this was me last year! Think I got an email or stalked the page so regularly that day I saw it happen!

yep buy as mentioned, the online stock is separate from what the stores hold.
I secured an X from JL last year (until I sent it back and went with one on IUP) buy purchasing online and collecting the next day from my local Waitrose.
Curent thinking is 8am Friday like last year (website alludes to this too). However, I've seen murmurs of tonight (after 8pm) or tomorrow (JL customer service twitter)
Seems odd mine changed to preparing for dispatch on Friday and I have a cleared payment on my card.

I'd be happy with the Vodafone order tracker not reporting my tracking number as an Invalid Order
Anyone else with a Vodafone order that the tracking number works on yet? Its the 'black hole' thing I don't like. If it isn't going to arrive on Friday I don't want to stay at home when I could be in London where I work trying out JL or Selfridges

check istocknow as they have auto checking for stock + notifications
